2-hunt

James POV.

To find a rogue in the world we live in, you don't go out in the forest and hunt them, you could do that, but only real wild rogue wolves would be found there.

Our world is ruled and devised by the supernatural, with a small part left for the human, a wild rogue won't do my research any good, Alpha Thalia had her eyes on a specific rogue, I knew who she would be, but I pretended not to connect the dots. Everyone doubted the real reason behind her allowing us to conduct this experiment, the rogue she has chosen, a young one, a pup of our age, has only been rogue for a couple of years now.

Where would a normal teenage human hide when they are homeless, where would they hide? This rogue was similar to a young human who was kicked out of her place. She'd stay close to the last place she's been through, our instinct would say to mark the territory and keep it as ours, the abandoned buildings in the human district. A human teenager would hide there, as would a rogue who'd claim an abandoned place as theirs.

Now I had to find where the young rogue girl is exactly, there are many places for her to hide in there. I could ask the local humans but not many of them would trust a wolf, none of the teenager humans would confirm nor deny seeing this specific wolf before. I had to use the company and their resources, the alpha has wolves and humans worker, people she could pay and buy information from.

"Hello, Peter, I need some humans who could talk with some human runaway teenager, find, anyone who could confirm the girl's last known space," I say on the phone, everything I do has to pass through Peter, Thaila being too busy for this, but she got her best man on it.

"Got it," Peter says ending the call, he too wanted this experiment to work, he wants to save all the poor rogues, the poor souls, it'll also take their company's name up in the books of history, but most of all he wants to save her...

Peter didn't take long until he could find one of those humans, it wasn't that hard, humans would do anything for money, including selling to each other. He sent me a phone number saying they'd get me the address of the girl when they have the information.

To find a rogue wolf girl, it's not that hard for them, low-level gangs and human mafia still live out on the streets, the abandoned places are their headquarters, they call themselves the resistance, and they must have stumbled upon a rogue or two.

I received a call three days later, the wolf we were looking for lived nearby, in an abandoned subway, she had a corner all for herself, she was one of the toughest rogues that humans has ever seen or had the pleasure to fight with, known to bite anyone who dares to get toward her territory.

The human who helped us was soon dealt with, this project is a top-secret one, we couldn't risk having anyone knowing or finding anything about it, a dead human, it's nothing new, it was a gangster who died, no one would look at the dead body twice.

Peter managed to gather a full team of werewolves, all armed with sedatives, we all got to the abandoned subway, in full gear, ready to walk in, ready to take over the target, it's hunting season. Peter was leading the team, saying he's the most trained one among us, and he is.

Peter went in first, the location was in the back of the subway, isolated from the rest, she had a tent sent for her there, garbage littered the place, we could also smell her urine, she tried to mark her territory, a move a young wolf shouldn't have done, not unless she's an alpha. I was worried about being screwed, having to deal with an older rogue, what if the human simply pointed us to some random rogue saying they looked like the wolf we showed them and asked for. The next scenario would be, that the girl is an alpha, it would be trickier to work with an alpha than with a natural submissive, it's another addition to the challenge.

"Alpha team with me, beta the other way, surround her," Peter gave the order, he was the one to take the first step, he looked inside the tent with me looking over his shoulder, I could see her inside, she was asleep, hopefully. We took another step but she moved, stirring at the voice of people being too close to her, Peter took a breath holding his hand up, telling everyone to hold still, and they did, but she was up and awake, she knew we were near.

She growled as I and Peter took a step back, opening the tent, now we all could see her, she was tiny, dirty, and angry, she jumped attacking right away, we couldn't use his gun and shoot her instead, we had to push her away without hurting her, she can't get hurt. When she tried to bite Peter's neck, and scratch his eyes out, I had to save him, I pushed her off him, and she fell down on the dirty floor, angry and growling, I have only aggravated her now.

"Don't hurt her," I warn the team, one of them tried to shoot her, but the analgesic dart didn't hit her, she tried to bite the neck of the guy who tried to shoot her. She had us following her, everyone running after her, they tried to shoot her again, but she was quick on her feet, her body was so small and slippery, she could run between the smallest cracks. She had the spirit, her red eyes looked at us with hate filling them, she didn't recognize anyone, although she knew most of us, at one point at least she did.

I had to do something before the girl hurt herself before she took the wrong turn or jumped off the wrong edge. If she get hurt, I was sure that the alpha would have everyone's bum for it, I did a sneak attack, cutting her off, pushing her back toward peter. I had to use the tranquillizer injection I had on me, she was looking between me and Peter, it's the angriest we have pushed her through this whole chase, when she turned her back to me, I injected her, making her howl with pain and betrayal.
