James POV.
The world has changed once, then changed again, and when everyone thought this is the final shape of the world, it changed yet again. Supernatural are a thing, everyone expected that, they could blame the aliens all they want, but it's the supernatural who ruled this world, they were in charge and humans just had to believe it and live with their new reality.Werewolves are not that different from humans, they got their beliefs in an end and in soulmates, they also got a bad one, bad apples, they are called rogues, wolves who couldn't stay in charge of their wolf side, wolves who gave up to a feral state. Some are born that way, and others are pushed into being rogues, but the thing is, rogues are sick, and as a doctor it's my job and duty to try and heal them, to find a cure for the stubborn disease, to put end to so many people suffering and hurt.My name is James Black, a doctor at Moon and howl company and I decided to start my research on ways to heal the unfortunate rogues.I belong to the alpha and owner of the company alpha Thaila Runnalf, it took me years to get her approval and funds for my search. She has only agreed after she got her own little, no one would say it out loud, but the bitch alpha is nicer ever since she found her true love and mate, the little boy made everyone's life easier and better. Now back to the research, I tried everything, I tried psychological treatment, anti-depressant, chock therapy, I tried everything the human and wolf mind would think about.Even chemotherapy to heal the sick brain, the sick cells in the body that are driving the wolves to insanity, but nothing has worked so far, until my latest discovery. The wolf brain goes through maturing phases just like the human brain, but the only difference is the body of a wolf changes depending on their brain, when a puppy is young if taught to be submissive they'd most likely turn that way, taught to be dominant and violent, their body would show signs of being more dominant, even their aura would change. A rogue wolf aura is a sick aura, one that's stuck on defense dominating mode, now if we push them back to their pre-maturing phase and teach them to be submissive, we'll be able to do a break-in and turn the rogues back to normal, or normal-ish."So explain this again for me?" Peter the company vice-president and alpha Thaila's personal friend and cousin say looking at me confused."We capture a rogue," I say but of course, the man had a reply to everything I said."That would be hard," he says, I had to hold from rolling my eyes yes at him, he had an army behind him and still he acts like they were going toward this blind and alone."We'll catch a small rogue, preferably a young one," I continue, the younger rogue would be easier to deal with, even when a born rogue, they don't reach the max of being violent until they are much older, but it'll also help with my plan."Young and small, make her she too, girls are always smarter and would give you a better chance," Peter says, most alphas are women, they are smarter for sure."Yes, now to the next step, we'll take her preferably into a safe environment," I continue, hospital was out of the question, it'll be too stressful for what we're trying to achieve."Okay, the company can guarantee a safe environment," he says, nodding I continue the plan, taking notes of everything they said to me."The next step is to inject her with enough sedative to make her docile enough for the next step," it's not the easiest part, but it has to be done."Sedate her? Why would you do that, I thought the treatment is supposed to help her," Peter says angrily, I was losing him and losing my permission to continue his experiment."Peter, to get to the subconscious of the girl we need her to trust us, we'll need to heal any kind of injuries she had before coming to us, that could only be done if she's sedated for the first week or so," I explained to him again."Okay, then what?" he asks getting irritated, he didn't want to hear the rest, this is always the worse part."We'll be trying to connect to her subconscious, once she's healthy enough and ready for the next step we'll have to break her rogue spirit," I say, yes it gets worse before it gets better."Break her?" he says, rogues have their own aura, they don't respect anyone, not an alpha, not a submissive, they are loners, with the fight switch turned on the whole time."We need to break her aura to push her toward a new one, one that would include a dominant and a small pack," I say, this is the hardest part of the whole experience, the ones before are heartbroken, but this is the most critical part, to push her brain, mind, soul, and spirit back to a pack position where they'd be in a younger headspace."And then?" he says interested again, pushing a rogue back into a pack is impossible, it's what we've been taught our whole life."After we manage to bring her back to the pack mentality, we'll be able to work with her on a psychological and physical level. We'll monitor her vitals, enzymes, her whole body, we'll find the part in her body that caused the rogueness and fix it," I say, everyone goes rogue for a different reason, whether it's bad genetic, a big trauma, or a physical disease."Is this plan guaranteed?" The alpha asks, it's the first time she talked since this meeting began, she looked different than she did before, alpha Thalia used to be the coldest bitch alive, then Colin came in, and he broke his way into her cold heart. But years after losing her own sister to the rogue disease, this topic is a sensitive one, it brings the worse inside her out."Nothing is guaranteed alpha, but from what we gathered and our studies, there's an eighty percent chance, depending on the reason why the individual went rogue," I explain, all I wanted was a chance to fix one rogue, to show the word they could be healed."You got my approval," the alpha says in her firm voice, it was a done deal finally.James POV. To find a rogue in the world we live in, you don't go out in the forest and hunt them, you could do that, but only real wild rogue wolves would be found there. Our world is ruled and devised by the supernatural, with a small part left for the human, a wild rogue won't do my research any good, Alpha Thalia had her eyes on a specific rogue, I knew who she would be, but I pretended not to connect the dots. Everyone doubted the real reason behind her allowing us to conduct this experiment, the rogue she has chosen, a young one, a pup of our age, has only been rogue for a couple of years now. Where would a normal teenage human hide when they are homeless, where would they hide? This rogue was similar to a young human who was kicked out of her place. She'd stay close to the last place she's been through, our instinct would say to mark the territory and keep it as ours, the abandoned buildings in the human district. A human teenager would hide there, as would a rogue who'd clai
James POV. "We got her sir," one of the team members says, they were all out of breath, they wanted to catch her and not hurt her, while the wolf wanted to eat them alive! It was a hard job, but we did it, we have her sedated, now I could examine her closer, examine her living environment. I looked around at the place she was staying in, I saw the garbage, I saw some dead animal's bones, it's her food, I could see she have searched the garbage for food, when that didn't work well, she moved to hunting small animals that she could catch. "Get the stretcher in, tie her down," I order out loud this part is now my responsibilities and not Peter, he helped get her sedated, but the moving part is mine. I can't risk her hurting someone from the team, even in her sleeping state, she could easily hurt them, one wrong move and someone would lose their head, eye or finger. Soon the stretcher was brought in, placing her over it, covering her with a warming blanket, the weather outside is cold
Ryan POV. A long time ago, me and my boyfriend Logan found the love of our life, we were trouble makers, two guys looking for work in the new world, we then met him during our work, we were supposed to be low-level workers in the hospital, but we wanted to help, we were nice to the patients and made sure everyone was safe and happy. It's how he found us, it's when he got his eyes on us, a doctor, a wolf doctor, we never meant to fall for him, we had each other, we were a hard-working couple who meant to live their happily ever after life together until he got in the middle, he saw our love to medicine, decided to make us his two helpers, we became his assistant. The next thing we knew, he sent us off to nursing school, and we came back with diplomas, and a better job, we only work with him, he's the only doctor we work with. One thing brought another thing, and here we are, kneeling on our knees in front of him, calling him our master, our sir, the one we love. As the years went b
Ryan POV. "Hey, don't cry now," I say holding Logan, he was on the verge of tears, he doesn't do well with seeing patients this hurt. "She's so small, so vulnerable," Logan cries again. "She almost killed half the rescue team, don't take her for granted," I remind my partner, although she's sweet and fragile, she's a strong little thing. "Let's go check with sir, maybe he can hold me, well us," Logan says, he loves to be held, and I agree, we need to be held now. We moved toward his office seeing the door closed, we knocked and waited to be allowed in. "What do you want us to do Sir?" Logan asks, sounding like the kid who just got their ass handed to them, we're going to get cuddles but work first. "Put an IV in, full-spectrum antibiotics, we'll have to break a few bones and re-align them," James says, he had every scan we did over his laptop, he's trying to sound firm and strong, but truth to be told, he sounded the most broken we have ever heard him. "Should we keep her unde
Logan POV. They knew how to deal with my emotions, they knew where to push me, if it was up to me, I would have gone to my room and cried, I would have cried for hours and hours, maybe until she heals, but then she needs my help, she needs me to be there for her as her nurse. Ryan was right, sex does help me, it's the best stress relief ever, and the cuddles afterwards do magics to me, I'm usually tucked in the middle between them hugged, kissed and loved, it's my favourite place to ever be. "Ray," I mumble waking one of my mates up, trying to whisper to avoid waking James, he doesn't appreciate my four am chats, he says they could wait until seven am, or maybe ten. But once I have something on my mind, I'll stay awake until I talk it through, and usually, Ryan is my poor victim. "What?" he mumbles back, his hands resting on my bum, squeezing my cheeks, I felt a blush get on my face, didn't he just have enough? "If the plan works," I say, it's not if, it's when it works, I had fu
James POV. A week has passed, a full week now, I went over the plan with Ryan and Logan ten times already, they know they can do it but they are also worried about failing me and her, they could never fail, they are the ones I would trust with my life, and I know she would do, as would the alpha. I had a call with the alpha, I couldn't leave the house, I couldn't risk her needing any kind of medical attention with me gone, instead, we had a video call, I showed the alpha the girl, I never thought I'd see the ice queen that's our alpha crying, until that day. She didn't cry, she was frozen, a tear shining in her eye, but nothing else, she looked shocked, happy, scared and worried, my wolf felt the urge to bow its head, to howl to the moon, to show his alpha compassion, her pain was our pain, and we couldn't take it. "Do you know her name?" the alpha asks me, I shook my head no, we all knew it was her sister, or we had our doubts, but we never dared to say it out loud, what if we had
Logan POV. Every day it's the same again and again we've been doing this for over a week now, every day she woke up, every day she screamed, every day James would try to push her into submission, it wasn't that easy for her, we were keeping her sedated enough to be awake giving her the slighted control over her limbs, but not enough to leave the bed. The look in her eyes was shifting, it was different. She looked angry, she looked on the verge of breaking, I wasn't so sure if pushing her any further was a good idea, but it wasn't my call, although I did make sure my opinion was heard around three am this time. "Today we're going to try something new," James told us both this morning, we all noticed the change in her. "As alpha Thaila put it, monkey sees, monkey does," he says with a smile, we both turned to him confused what? "What would the monkey do?" Ryan asks, he got it? Cause I didn't. "It's when someone copies another person, you won't jump a cliff unless you see others ju
Ryan POV. She finally gave in, she submitted to us, well she did to James, and a little bit to us, she stopped crying now, she's not moving much, she could move her hands and legs a little bit. She tried to kick me earlier today when I went to change her, we have her dressed in the hospital gown, with a pad set underneath her. "That's not nice Melody," I scold her, but she only growls back at me, we keep on calling her Melody, it's her real name but that doesn't mean she's answering to it, she doesn't remember maybe? We're not sure what's going on in her head, but we do know she's almost ready for the second step. "Growling isn't nice either, if you play nice I'll talk daddy into allowing us to get you out of the clinic," I say, the clinic was the first stop, a place that's clean and sterile to heal all of her wounds, as a wolf she heals much faster than humans. She doesn't answer me this time, not a growl, not a bite, instead, she looks at her IV, which means she does understand
