Chapter Six

Keeva’s POV

It’s beautiful! The bright white satin material is soft and smooth to the touch. I can’t help but smile at my reflection. I look beautiful. Stood in this dress in my bedroom and Nikita fixes my long hair into soft curls. It feels unreal. I feel the tears well up in my eyes and the flood gates slowly open. Hot tears stream down my face, cutting a path in the makeup that has just been freshly applied. ‘Don’t cry Keeva. Please don’t cry. The Moon Goddess sets a path for all of us, she never abandons us without hope. Hold on to your strength.’

I step down from the small stool, my feet tired from all the standing and waiting around. Only Nikita attends to me, normally all the higher-ranking women would be around, happy and laughing. But this isn’t a happy occasion. The packs most distinguished bachelor is being united with a mere human. I take Nikita’s warm calloused hands in mine. ‘Will you pray with me?’ Nikita smiles. We both turn to the open window, the moon
