Chapter 8: School Clubs

Mia's eyes widened as she spotted the dessert section. "Look at those cupcakes!" she exclaimed, pointing at the frosted treats topped with rainbow sprinkles. My gaze followed Mia's finger, and i couldn't help but smile at the sight.

When it was our turn to be served, i decided on a turkey and cheese sandwich with a side of Caesar salad, while Mia opted for a slice of lasagna accompanied by garlic bread. We both picked up a cupcake, promising to savor it as a reward for surviving our first day in school. I realized that the only other thing capable of keeping Mia quite was food.

As they ate, Lily and Mia exchanged stories about their morning classes. Lily recounted her hilarious encounter with Mr. Thompson, the quirky history teacher who had a penchant for wearing mismatched socks. Mia, on the other hand, regaled Lily with tales of Mrs. Peters, the eccentric art teacher who insisted that everyone address her as "Madame Picasso."
