LOGINANASTASIA'S POV I crossed off a date from my self drawn calendar, it was officially a week to prom. It felt surreal and I couldn't wait. It came with different emotions, excitement and sadness about not getting to do this with dad but regardless of how I felt, I was ready for it. My red shoes shone brightly at the corner of the room, they looked magical. I could picture myself in them, struggling to balance for the first few seconds due to how high they were and then absolutely killing it the entire prom. I rushed to the drawer, my second favourite part of the room every day starting yesterday. Pulling it open, my jewelry laid there. The stones were shiny, almost blinding me even and I just couldn't help but imagine how elegant I would look in them. All that was left was my dress. Thinking about it has me sighing and settling into the nearest chair, my shoulders were slumped as I pondered over my chances of actually getting what I wanted. The dress looked so beautiful on paper
ANASTASIA'S POV "Argh," I groaned in pain as I shifted in bed. The morning light was bright but not blinding, my curtains were closed which was weird. I struggled to recall the events of the previous day and Zain came into memory, he must have made me comfortable, the thought brought a smile to my face. Zain cared about me so much and he always tried his best to make me comfortable, it felt good. The clock struck 8 and a sound reverberated through the room. "Fuck," I muttered. There was school today and I had overslept. I tried to get out of bed and my body reminded me that it was fragile this morning. A loud horn sounded outside, repeatedly and I recognised it as Uriel's. "Fuck," I muttered as I tried helplessly to get out of bed against all odds. Luckily for me the horn stopped but she was still out there, I needed to tell her to go without me. My phone was far on the edge of the table opposite me but my body pain wouldn't let me do the slightest as move. I considered screami
ZAIN'S POV An unsettling feeling lingered at the back of my mind, I had searched the hallways yet Ana was nowhere to be found. Uriel's call did nothing to help my anxiety, it simply made it worse. She sounded like it was urgent and she was panicking, Ana wasn't one to pull a disappearance stunt and she would have located me by now. Not being with me or Uriel meant trouble especially after the events of the morning. Just then, a junior passed me. She looked at me and glanced away, quickening her steps. It felt weird. "Have you seen Anastasia?" I asked and she shook her head. Something about her felt odd and so I called after her again. "Have you seen Anastasia?" I repeated. "Yes," her index finger pointed in the direction of the back of the school before she ran off towards the exit. "Come back," I shouted after her but it was too late. Just then, I heard a scream I presumed to be Ana's and rushed towards it. All I saw was Maisie being held up by her minions as she clutched he
ANASTASIA'S POV A clap sounded out of nowhere and I couldn't see where it was coming from. It went on for an excruciating thirty seconds and then a back foot opens from which Maisie and four of her followers emerged. "Oh shit," I muttered under my breath. I was in hot soup but all I could think of was the look Uriel would have when I told her she was right after all, Maisie did in fact want her revenge. Her footsteps were slow, paced and a bit creepy. She approached with such carefulness one would think I was the predator here, but I wasn't fazed. If anything I wouldn't go down without a fight. I got up from the floor quickly and took a stance. If she was ready to fight then I was too, there was no way I was going to surrender. "Well, well, well," Maisie laughed taking my surprise and I found myself punching the empty air. "Oh I see you're eager for a fight but I haven't even started with you." The look she gave me the other day in class was back again and I knew this wasn't
ANASTASIA'S POV Maisie's mouth hung open for a while before she proceeded to scream. "Are you insane?" All eyes were turned to us now. In a split second I went in for another hit and then another, lunging punching directly at her mouth. Until her lips showed crimson red and my knuckles were covered with it did I stop hitting her. Part one was over, it was time to switch it up. Her hair was next, I intended to rip it out of her scalp and so I pulled and pulled watching her writh in pain as payback for all the pain she had ever caused me. "You, Maisie, are nothing but a pathetic bitch," I screamed. This was my way of letting go of all the pent up anger that was inside of me. My life had been hello because of her, it was only right that she felt the same hurt to some degree. "You're nothing but a wannabe bully, you crave respect so much but you know you don't deserve it and bullying is the only way you can get it. You make me sick to my stomach," I spat on her and the crowd that h
ANASTASIA'S POV Red flowers lined the hallway, petals sticking out from every corner. Cards flew everywhere and almost everyone had something in hand that indicated love, I was feeling left out and in my feelings but snapped out of it quickly. "Surprise. Will you go to prom with me?" One guy knelt in front of a shocked girl standing in front of her locker with confetti all over her face. "Oh my gosh, yes. Yes!" She screamed and the hallway erupted with joy, I found myself clapping too. That was one of the numerous moves that had been made that morning, everywhere I turned there was someone blushing, gushing and going to prom with the love of their lives. I wondered if Zain would ask me too. Prom was two weeks away, things had been going on fine with us and I was anxious although I tried so hard to conceal it. I kept on asking myself and wondering if Zain would actually make a move. "Does he even want to go to prom with me?" I questioned myself. I was full of uncertainty,
