ANASTASIA'S POV

Red flowers lined the hallway, petals sticking out from every corner. Cards flew everywhere and almost everyone had something in hand that indicated love, I was feeling left out and in my feelings but snapped out of it quickly.

"Surprise. Will you go to prom with me?" One guy knelt in front of a shocked girl standing in front of her locker with confetti all over her face.

"Oh my gosh, yes. Yes!" She screamed and the hallway erupted with joy, I found myself clapping too. T

  • The hybrid twins curse    Chapter 33

ANASTASIA'S POV A clap sounded out of nowhere and I couldn't see where it was coming from. It went on for an excruciating thirty seconds and then a back foot opens from which Maisie and four of her followers emerged. "Oh shit," I muttered under my breath. I was in hot soup but all I could think of was the look Uriel would have when I told her she was right after all, Maisie did in fact want her revenge. Her footsteps were slow, paced and a bit creepy. She approached with such carefulness one would think I was the predator here, but I wasn't fazed. If anything I wouldn't go down without a fight. I got up from the floor quickly and took a stance. If she was ready to fight then I was too, there was no way I was going to surrender. "Well, well, well," Maisie laughed taking my surprise and I found myself punching the empty air. "Oh I see you're eager for a fight but I haven't even started with you." The look she gave me the other day in class was back again and I knew this wasn't

  • The hybrid twins curse    Chapter 32

ANASTASIA'S POV Maisie's mouth hung open for a while before she proceeded to scream. "Are you insane?" All eyes were turned to us now. In a split second I went in for another hit and then another, lunging punching directly at her mouth. Until her lips showed crimson red and my knuckles were covered with it did I stop hitting her. Part one was over, it was time to switch it up. Her hair was next, I intended to rip it out of her scalp and so I pulled and pulled watching her writh in pain as payback for all the pain she had ever caused me. "You, Maisie, are nothing but a pathetic bitch," I screamed. This was my way of letting go of all the pent up anger that was inside of me. My life had been hello because of her, it was only right that she felt the same hurt to some degree. "You're nothing but a wannabe bully, you crave respect so much but you know you don't deserve it and bullying is the only way you can get it. You make me sick to my stomach," I spat on her and the crowd that h

One guy knelt in front of a shocked girl standing in front of her locker with confetti all over her face. "Oh my gosh, yes. Yes!" She screamed and the hallway erupted with joy, I found myself clapping too. That was one of the numerous moves that had been made that morning, everywhere I turned there was someone blushing, gushing and going to prom with the love of their lives. I wondered if Zain would ask me too. Prom was two weeks away, things had been going on fine with us and I was anxious although I tried so hard to conceal it. I kept on asking myself and wondering if Zain would actually make a move. "Does he even want to go to prom with me?" I questioned myself. I was full of uncertainty,

  • The hybrid twins curse    Chapter 30

ANASTASIA'S POV I returned to my class after the kiss I shared with Zain and the rest of the day, all I could think of was how romantic it was. I couldn't stop replaying it in my head and gushing about it. Maisie and I had a class together and she didn't even spare me a glance, she was bipolar for all I knew. One minute she was violent and aggressive, throwing all the shots she had my way and the next she was silent. I could only hope she wasn't plotting something worse. Uriel dropped me off after school, she had a look of concern in her eyes the entire ride. With each stunt from Maisie, she got even more bothered and tried her best to make sure my mental health was intact. "Promise me you're fine," she had said, holding me back from stepping out when we got to the front of my house. "I am Uriel, would I ever lie to you?" She hit me with raised eyebrows and we both burst into laughter. "Of course you wouldn't like to me but you're good at pretending. Promise me you're okay?"

  • The hybrid twins curse    Chapter 29

JED'S POV Zain walked out with Anastasia's hand in his and there was a slight smirk on her face as she turned away. I felt an instant sharp pain in my chest, the game had just started yet it seemed like I had lost woefully. I stood there, confused, all I had tried to do was help her. Without my timely intervention, Lord knows what Maisie and her minions would have done to her. Maisie was to blame for all of this and there was a deep seated anger in me, all she had done since the day Ana resumed school was destroy our relationship and I hated her so much for it. At first, I allowed it but then trust Maisie to take things overboard. The taunts, the laughter, the humiliation: Ana probably thought I had a hand in it. To be fair I allowed it but those were two different things and now I knew better, I knew I needed to apologise, I planned to even. The entire day I had been nervous, stealing glances at her, watching her laugh and smile at Uriel while I put the pieces together in my

  • The hybrid twins curse    Chapter 28

ANASTASIA'S POV I watched Maisie scramble away and it was good to see that someone at least had control over her. The way she acted, one would think she could never be bullied or talked down on. The sound of feet diverted my attention from the door to Jed, we stood miles apart staring at each other for a second and then I lost it. "What are you doing here?" I screamed at him. I was grateful for a second until I remembered that this was his fault in the first place. It was his fault Maisie was attacking me, all the bullying I had ever faced was all his fault and now he had nerves to barge in here like some saviour. "You needed saving," he responded. "Yes, I needed saving from you and your psychotic girlfriend that just tried to hurt me." "She's not my girlfriend," he shot back. "I don't care," I screamed, shocking even myself. I had never been this angry in months and sometimes I forgot how I acted when I let anger engulf me. I could see the shock on his face too, he looked
