THE LAST DAY BRIDE

Episode 05

A LITTLE FROM THE PREVIOUS EPISODE

"I don't want to see him", Rissa answered

"If I were you, I won't try to immerse myself in a battle I knew I will forfeit,

Mr Brown is a very influential person, if you are not tired of these pains, then be tenacious"

I got to go, the officer said and locked them back.

THE STORY CONTINUES

"Rissa, you have to listen to the officer, look, am worn of seeing you in pain, just do whatever they want you to do"

Tracy asserted,

"Tracy is right Rissa, sturboness won't work, though I have no idea of who the person is"  billy reinforced,

"Mr Brown"

 Rissa said and they both opened their mouth staring at each other,

"What the fuck, "how the hell did you meet with that useless and brutal old man?"

Tracy  yelled,

"My step sister precisely, she was drunk, she drove, crashed his car, his goods worth millions burnt to Ashes, and being blamed for it, my dad too confessed I was the one that drove the car, meanwhile I don't even know how to handle the keys correctly"

Rissa Said

"God, "what did he want now?" billy inquired

"Well, he wants me to marry him", Rissa said"

"To that dirty old man?" what the fuck?

Tracy asked

"Yes guys, I need to get dressed, can you help me please?"  Rissa pleaded.

"Yea",  billy replied.

THE BROWN PARADISE

Clifford stared as the party is getting on, calm music was played, while irritating species are dancing,

A lot going on in his mind, his wedding will take place in two days yet no bride

His mum cut in, 

"Cliff, look what I brought for you,

I have ordered the most expensive purely made gold engagement ring for your wife to be, I don't know if it will fit her finger, but if she is slim, I think it's perfect,

She must be very pretty" 

Mrs. Elizabeth exclaimed revealing him the engagement ring,

He whistled,

"Do you even know the so-called bride am  going to marry?" do you know her fucking name?" and right now, you are overreacting here and there, just stop please"

Clifford mumbled

"You are so harsh cliff, anyways no need to keep wasting time hurting your self, or thinking much, in the end, what's going to happen must surely happen"

Mrs. Elizabeth said and depart from the room,

"God, why me", he scuffed and fall on his bed

MR WILLIAMS HOME

"Why are you smiling all over?" Mrs Jenny asked

Am sure Rissa will have no option than to accept this marriage deal, I advised Mr Brown to beat the hell out of her"

Mr Williams said and they giggled,

"Am sure her body look completely red, you need to see the kind of horsewhip I gave to Mr Brown to use it on her"

He added.

"Mr Brown didn't say anything?"

Mrs Jenny asked

"Of course, he said something, he asked if am truly her dad,"

Mr Williams replied proudly,

Rissa was taken to a visitors reception,

Mr Brown was perched there wearing black eyeglasses and a mischievous grin,

Rissa pull a chair and sat down,

She bent her head down,

"You are the stubborn lady right?"

He asked

"And you are the evil heartless man right," Rissa replied boldly,

Mr Brown Smirked,

"You are so stubborn, is very simple, just accept the deal and you will enjoy life, you will be happy"

Mr Brown said

"I don't want any happiness coming from you, you  are cruel,look at my body,look how I looked,"

"Did I look like am a bad person?"tell me,did I look like someone who can even hold a car key and drive?"

All my life, I have never been happy, what the use of my life when my dad denied my right and save his stepdaughter,

Look, Mr Brown, am not going to marry you and that's final"...

Rissa shouted with tears in her eyes and stood to leave,

For the first time, Mr Brown felt sympathy for her

"The marks and blood on your body, who did that to you?" Mr Brown asked

"Now, you want to act innocent, huh, wonderful Mr Brown, you are such a drama king"

"When you sent those policemen to locked me in the darkroom and whip the hell out of me because I spurned to accept your deal, and now you are pretending not to know?"

Rissa shouted

"I dint do any of such thing, I think your dad did it,"

Mr Brown said

"Don't accuse my dad, I knew he doesn't love me, but he can't hurt me, because he is not cruel  like you"

Rissa squabble.

"Just a minute, Mr Brown said and dialed Mr Williams phone number, almost immediately" he answered,

Mr Brown placed the call on loudspeaker,

"Mr Williams! Mr Brown called.

"Mr Brown, I have a piece of good news for you

Am sure that stubborn headed Rissa will have no option than to accept you, I bought a big horsewhip and gave the officers to deal with her"

Mr Williams exclaimed,

Mr Brown hang off,

Rissa couldn't believe her ears, she almost fall, she cover her mouth still shocked,

"My dad" she tried to say but break down in tears,

"Look Rissa, I know your dad doesn't love you one bit, am not sure if you are his daughter,

Accepting to marry me will be the best decision you will ever make, and you won't regret it,

I already transmitted the wedding invitation to everyone,

And the wedding will take place two days from today,

The decision is in your hands, choose wisely".

Mr Brown said and gave her some food,

"I brought this for you".

He added and walked away,

Rissa was taken back to the cell,

She rests her head on the wall as hot tears fall from her eyes freely,

"So dad can go to this extent to hurt me?" I will make sure I made him regret ever treating me like trash". Rissa sweared

"Why are you crying Rissa, did me Brown hurt you again?"Billy asked rubbing her hands on Rissa's back, 

"Mr Brown didn't do anything to me, my dad proudly sent those cells men to beat me up, my own dad", Rissa weeped

"Is okay Rissa, everything will be fine,

Tracy said, 

"I want my dad, Claudia to suffer,I want to see them in pains", Rissa squealed with anger in her eyes, 

"If you want to revenge on your family then you have to accept the deal".

Billy blurted, 

"What deal"?"  Rissa asked, 

"You have to accept mr brown as your husband, he is rich, powerful and you, been his wife will grant you excess power to deal with your family"

Billy retorted, 

"But what if he made my life more difficult than it is now?"

Rissa inquired, 

"Let's wish for a positive outcome, I think billy's idea is something you should speculate" Tracy said, 

"Okay, thank you, I will think about it, he said he is coming around tomorrow".

Rissa said.

THE NEXT DAY

THE BROWN PARADISE

Mrs Elizabeth entered Mr Brown's library, 

"What brings you here?" he asked not giving her a glare

"Am not here to fight, please, tomorrow is Clifford's wedding and I have no idea who the bride is, for God's sake, I don't want our reputation to be ruined because of this"

Mrs Elizabeth announced steadily,

"The truth is, the bride is yet to accept this marriage, says Mr Brown

"What, what kind of thing is this, Mr brown how can you be this careless, I thought you are wise and have everything under control but you are just a big, fool. What if the bride refused to agree and what are we going to tell the guest?"   Mrs Elizabeth shouted

"Calm down, I made a mistake, it happens that the lady got involved  In an accident, and crushed my goods truck and my goods worth millions were burnt to ashes,I noticed is not her fault, but her family blamed it on her,I locked her up on a condition that she will accept to marry me, without knowing I want her to marry Clifford". 

 Mr  Brown said

"God, why will you do this?" why will you lie brown".

Mrs Elizabeth shouted

"Because her family hates her, and if they find out my intention, they will find any means to block her way from getting Clifford, I lied because she doesn't deserve to continue suffering"

Mr Brown answered

"What's her name?" she asked

"Rissa," Mr brown replied

"I will visit her and make her agree, I will not let her know that she is marrying cliff not you",

Mrs Elizabeth said

"Thanks, honey", he pulled her in a hug

The next day,

The creepy loud bell jotted Rissa from her sleep,

She wipe her eyes and relaxed herself,

After praying for some time,

Tracy and Billy cut in, "thank God you are awake babe, the food is almost finishing"

Billy said

"You are such a foodie Billy, Rissa laughed

"By the way, good morning", Rissa said

"Seems, none of you noticed me", Tracy pouted,

"Gosh, billy made me not to notice you, good morning,"

Rissa said

"Okay, you look delightful today, I think something good is gonna happen,"

Tracy said,

"Okay Mrs predicter, we pray so"

Billy replied and they laughed,

They got up from the small bed and headed outside the cell to look for something to eat,

THE BROWN PARADISE

Mrs Elizabeth walked out of the bathroom, she scrubs her body with her towel, and dried her hair,

She applied some lotion, dressed on a blue chick gown, a white hill shoe, and a black purse,

Mr Brown entered,

"You looking beautiful today" he said

"It has been long you said that". Mrs Elizabeth replied

"Don't mind me,a lot in my mind, and my anger issues, but I decided not to fight with you till after this wedding"

Mr Brown said and Elizabeth chuckled

"So we going to continue fighting after the wedding huh?" sounds crazy,

Anyways, I have to go, am wasting time already"

Mr Elizabeth said applying a lip gloss,

"Okay, please do everything to convince her, she will be the perfect girl for Clifford"

Mr Brown said

"Sure, don't worry, Mrs Elizabeth replied and walked out of the room"

 On her way, she met Clifford,

"Are you going somewhere mum?" you look beautiful"

Clifford asked

"Thanks,is kinda urgent,am planning to buy somethings for tomorrow".

Mrs Elizabeth said,

"Okay, safe ride, can't wait for tomorrow, to finally see my unknown bride"

Clifford said with a cold face and left,

"John, is the car ready?" Mrs Elizabeth asked

"Yes ma" he replied

She trilled behind him,

He opened the expensive limonite car for her and she entered wearing a sunglasses,

MR WILLIAMS HOME

Mr Williams sat down watching some news headlines when Mrs Jenny entered,

"You even have the mind to watch television when we are in deep trouble? tomorrow supposed to be the wedding day, but your stupid daughter is not ready to accept,do you know how dangerous Mr. Brown is?" I don't want to get locked up,

Mrs Jenny yelled,

"Am watching this television, but my mind is far from here, am thinking of a way out but nothing is working,am damn lost,"

Mr Williams said.

"God, we have to know what to do,"

Mrs Jennifer said and take a seat

NEW YORK PRISON,

"You have a visitor Rissa, be fast" the cell officer announced,

"I hope is good news, Rissa said.

"Don't worry babe, is sure good news,go-ahead"

Tracy replied and smiled,

Rissa nodded and sighed before following the officer to the visitor room,

She saw a very beautiful classy, rich lady seated on the chair,

"Who is she?" Rissa asked,

"Why not go find out yourself", the officer replied and Left,

Rissa moved forward,

"Hey", Rissa waved

Mrs Elizabeth removed her glass and smiled at her,

"Brown is right, she is the perfect girl for our son, even though she looks rough, but she is still very pretty"

"You are Rissa right?"Mrs Elizabeth asked

"Yes ma", but I don't know who you are, Rissa answered,

"Calm down", take a seat,

Mrs Elizabeth said nicely,

Rissa did as she said,

"I am Elizabeth, and am Brown sister"

Mrs Elizabeth lied,

"But you look the exact opposite of him, Mr Brown is very cruel, he locked me up without investigating if I am guilty or not"

Rissa said sadly,

Mrs Elizabeth held Rissa's hands,

"My dear, am sorry for all that happened, you are like a daughter to me, I like you as a mother, you have suffered enough, and accepting this marriage will be the end of your pains, you will get everything you want, I won't do something that will hurt you, there is something you don't know, but I will keep it a secret for today, you just have to accept this deal and everything will be over"

Mrs Elizabeth said nicely,

"You can choose other girls, why me?"

Rissa inquired

"Because they are only interested in money, you are different from them, you are purely innocent and I trust you,

Our family is very popular, if this marriage did happen tomorrow then we will become a laughing stock, please save the reputation of our family, please".

Mrs Elizabeth pleaded

"Is okay ma, for your sake, am willing to accept to marry him, but I have a request".

Rissa mumbled

"Just say anything, and it's done,"

Mrs Elizabeth retorted

"I want my friends, Tracy and Billy to be bailed out please, they have been kind to me, I can't enjoy and see them suffer,

Rissa pleaded",

"Just a minute please, Mrs Elizabeth said and make a quick call"

An officer arrived,

"I have talked with the commissioner of the cell officer, I want to bail Rissa, billy, and Tracy right now, I will pay anything"

Mrs Elizabeth said

"At your service ma" the officer replied and left,

Not long after, he returned with Tracy and Billy,

"You are free to go", the officer said and left,

"Thank you so much ma", I owe you a lot,

Rissa said happily and hugged Tracy and Billy,

"You are such an angel for saving us, thank you so much ma"

Tracy and Billy said

"Fine guys, you are all welcome, can we go?"

Mrs Elizabeth asked jokingly

"Yes ma" they all replied happily.

Rissa mumbled cheerily and caressed Tracy and Billy,

"You are such an angel for saving us, thank you so much ma".

Tracy and Billy said

"Fine guys, you are all welcome, can we go?"

Mrs Elizabeth asked jokingly

"Yes ma, they all replied happily",

THE STORY CONTINUES

"Do you know that since the time I saw you?"I knew you will be the one to save us, and now it happens, am so thankful to you Rissa".

Tracy said excitedly

"Is nothing guys, you both have supported me in this damn cell, and I will be the  worst human being if I left without you when I had the chance to help you"

Rissa replied

"Yes, you are not like your dad, can't wait to see their face on the wedding day, "you are finally the last day bride"

Billy teased and they laughed,

Mrs Elizabeth waved at them,

"Guys, we have to go, or do you want to keep on staying here?" Mrs Elizabeth inquired lifting her eyebrows with a smile,

They rapidly strolled to the car, 

"Good girls, now, you can enter"

Mrs Elizabeth announced and they did as she ordered, the car zoomed off,

After 30 minutes drive,

They arrived at the magnificent paradise,

THE BROWN PARADISE was written boldly,

"Wow" they all wheezed

"This is just heaven in disguise, my dear, you are such a fortunate girl",

Billy whispered

"Come in girls, welcome to the Brown palace"

Mrs Elizabeth said with a warm smiled

"Thanks, ma" they answered and entered gentlly scared not to slip and fall from the shining black marbles.

"Calm down girls, you not go going to fall down", Mrs Elizabeth teased

She pressed some keys and the door unlocked

A luxurious amazing scent welcome them,

Rissa opened her mouth, gazing at the interior,

"Am I going to be living i here?"Rissa thought

The interior is entirely constructed with white and light purple,

A perfect set of sofas, a big round Chandeliers, and a big quadrangle television,

"Welcome ma", a maid declared and collect Mrs Elizabeth's bag,

"Meet our bride to be", Rissa, Mrs Elizabeth introduced,

"Wow, nice to meet you Rissa", am Blaire,

The maid Said

"Thanks", Rissa chuckled

"Blaire, you go ahead and show her the room I made you arranged for her, then assign another maid to take the two girls to another room,

Send john to see me in my room".

Mrs Elizabeth ordered,

"As you wish madam"Blaire retorted with a bow,

"Honey, you should go have some rest, everything is arranged in your wardrobe,

I will see you later okay",

Mrs Elizabeth said

Rissa bobbed

"Tracy, billy, you have to pardon your friend for some time, you should go have a rest, the maid will bring in your food,

Don't forget, tomorrow is the day".

Mrs Elizabeth said

"Sure ma, thanks for your kindness," Tracy and Billy said

"Okay guys, I will see you soon okay", Rissa Said

"Okay bride to be," Billy replied and they laughed,

Rissa heeded Blaire,

"Am delighted to see you, Clifford is so lucky to have you as his wife, you are gentle and pretty".

Blaire said

Rissa chuckled,

"I think you are mistaken, am marrying Mr. Brown, not Clifford, I don't even know who Clifford is"

Rissa rectified

Blaire look confused,

"Is something wrong?" Rissa asked

"No, nothing", Blaire lied,

"Anyways, we are here, hope you will love your room, coz Mrs Elizabeth instructed me to make the room look very beautiful,"

Blaire said and open the door,

"You mean, this is my room?" Rissa asked

"Sure, the toilet is inside, and your clothes have been arranged in the wardrobe, I will go make arrangements for your dinner,

Have a nice day Miss Rissa",

Blaire said and smile before leaving,

Rissa stare at the room,

Garnished with red roses, lights, flowers, etc

A big king-size bed was positioned in the middle of the big room that is almost bigger than her whole house, a side drawer by the left side of the bed, around a big mirror by the right, and a big wall to wall glass closet

Rissa was speechless,

"God, is this how my life will change from worst to better?" how I wish mum will be there to see me like this"

Rissa thought,

She walked to the closet and slide it gently,

More than 50 designer's clothes have been neatly arranged, some packs of shoes Snickers, make up kit, etc,

She sat on the bed, is so soft and fluffy,

"I need to have a bath", she recalled and obeyed the inscription of Blaire,

She turn the nob and the bathroom opened,

It has been decorated with Mable's tiles from up till dawn, a big jacuzzi at another side, a shower, a mirror,12 neatly arranged towels, new tooth brushed, different sponge, etc,

Rissa dint know how to use the shower or the jacuzzi, she simply had a warm bath of 20 minutes and returned to the room,

She dried her hair with The pink towel and applied a strawberry fragrance lotion,

She opened the wardrobe again, after searching for some time, she chose a long Light blue chick gown and wear it,

She applied as a powder and a lip gloss, some blushes and eyebrows,

She made her hair in a bun, and she can't comprehend herself,

She looks awesomely beautiful,

Almost immediately after she was done dressing up,

She heard a knock,

"Come in". Rissa replied calmly,

Mrs Elizabeth entered holding a white bag in her hand,

"Wow, you look very pretty, absolutely the right choice for Clifford",

Mrs Elizabeth mistaken,

"Clifford?" who is he, the maid also mentioned his name earlier".

Rissa asked,

"Uhmm, my dear, I bought this for you, is your wedding dress, very beautiful right?"

Mrs Elizabeth quickly said distorting the conversation,

Rissa understood and decided to act along,

"Yes, is beautiful," Rissa said surveying it out,

"If you don't like it, you are exempt to say, I will order for more, with higher prices".

Mrs Elizabeth said

"No ma, I love it, is very beautiful,"

Rissa said,

"Glad you love it, and yes, this is your wedding ring, I don't know if it will fit your finger, I decided to bring it to first before taking it to the groom".

Mrs Elizabeth said,

"Wow, a diamond ring?"  Rissa almost screamed but she calmed herself,

"But this is very expensive ma", Ris sa Said

"Yes, I know, I want my son's wedding, oh, I mean, the wedding to be the talk of the Town, don't worry about any price, is settled".

Mrs Elizabeth said,

"Okay ma," Rissa replied

"My dear, I have no idea of the miseries you went through with your parents, but I assured you,

 You are like a daughter to me, and you will never lack anything".

Mrs Elizabeth said holding Rissa's hand,

"I don't know how to start thanking you,

My dad always says am bad luck, but you have proven to me that I am worth something good,

For bringing me out from the hell of a cell, and keeping me here in this paradise, I will forever be grateful to you"

"Thank you so much ma"

Rissa said and tears fall from her eyes,

"Is okay, don't cry, I know it pains, but trust me, your parents will cry tomorrow, surely"

Mrs Elizabeth said and pull her to a hug,

"I will like you to follow me downstairs, my friends wish to see you"

Mrs Elizabeth said

"Okay ma", Rissa replied and stood up,

They almost left the room when Rissa remembered she have forgotten her earrings,

"Am sorry, I have forgotten something", Rissa apologize

"Don't worry, I will go ahead, am waiting for you there, hope you will not be lost?"

Mrs Elizabeth asked

"Yes ma, thank you", Rissa replied and returned to her room

CLIFFORD ROOM

Clifford's friends assembled in his room

", jeez guy, I can't wait for tomorrow, I can't wait to hear you say, I DO"

Clifford's friend Micky disparaged

"I pray you will be deaf before tomorrow, tomorrow will be the worst day of my life, for your information I don't even know who the damn bride is",

Clifford scuffed

"Wow, you are not serious dude, how can your wedding be tomorrow and you have no idea who the bride is?" are you serious at all, neoul, his other friend asked,

"Look dudes, you are annoying me seriously, I don't want to hear anything about my so my called marriage".

Clifford shouted and headed to the door,

His maid came in,

"How many times did I have to warn you to knock before entering?" Clifford shouted,

"Am really sorry boss, I just came to let you know that I saw Mrs Elizabeth with your bride to be, she looks beautiful and young"

The maid Said,

"I never asked to get out", Clifford ordered,

"But sir"..the maid try to say,

"I said, get out", Clifford wailed,

"I need to go calm my head," Clifford said to himself and open the door hard, and headed to the bar,

Rissa wore the earrings and glance at herself in the mirror one more time,

She shut the door gently and bossed to where Mrs Elizabeth asked her to stay,

But she couldn't find her,

"I can't seem to remember anything, the place change in a twinkle of an eye", Rissa soliloquize,

"Am feeling thirsty, I need some water"

Rissa thought,

Almost immediately, she saw some waiters holding a tray of juice,

"I need a cup of juice please", Rissa said

"As you wish our bride, the waiter said and give her a cup of juice,

She swiveled to leave when she bummed into Clifford and the juice erroneously poured on his shirt,

"Oh my God am really sorry" Rissa lament trying to wipe it off his shirt,

Clifford glare at her Angrily without knowing she is his last day bride,

He pushed her off, she fall and landed her butt on the floor,

She winched in pain,

"You are too careless, do you know this shirt can feed you and your whole family?" who the hell invited you to this wedding?"

Clifford shouted,

"Am really sorry, it was an accident", Rissa apologize

"That's how stupid ladies like you behaved, you intentionally poured the juice on me just to get my attention, rubbish"

Clifford raved

"I don't know where you are getting this idea from, but I have no idea who you are, I'm  sorry"

Rissa pleaded,

"I'm not accepting any sorry, we both have to lose", Clifford yelled and pick up a cup full of juice and emptied it on her, from her hair to her dressed,

He threw the cup at her and majestically left,

Rissa struggle to get up,

Blaire arrived just on time,

"Oh my God, miss Rissa, what's wrong with you, who did this to you?"

Blaire asked trying to help Rissa up,

"Is okay, don't worry am fine", Rissa smiled

'You are not fine Rissa, your  dress looked messed up, who dare do that to you?"

Blaire yelled,

"I don't know him, but he looks very angry, he said some words, but is actually my fault, I should have watched my steps"

Rissa said

"Am sure Clifford did this, it seems like both Rissa and cliff have no idea they are marrying each other, anyway,

"Is known of my business".

Blaire said in her mind and helped Rissa to her room,

After taking her to, Blaire left the room,

Mrs Elizabeth called her,

"Have you seen Rissa?" I left her minutes ago to get her earrings,

Mrs Elizabeth asked worriedly,

"I just take her back to her room," Blaire replied, 

"Why, was something wrong with her?" Mrs Elizabeth asked

"She bummed into Clifford a while ago, and he was mad at her, he said some hurtful words to her and even emptied a whole cup of juice on her"

Blaire explained

"Clifford" Mrs Elizabeth called angrily and headed to his room,

"What the hell have you done cliff?" Mrs Elizabeth shouted and entered his room without knocking,

"Why are you angry?", what have I done?"

Clifford shouted,

"The lady you poured the juice on, did you have an idea who she was and how important she is, to you and me?"

Mrs Elizabeth shouted

"Dint she informed you, she poured the juice on me?"  so is what I did that is bad, hers was good right?"

Clifford shouted,

"Am sick and tired of your attitude Clifford, am warning you, stay away from troubles".

Mrs Elizabeth ranted and left the room,

"That lady made my mum to shout at me, who so ever she is, I hate her, and she shouldn't pray for us to meet again".

Clifford said angrily,

Mr Williams home

"Good news honey, where are you?"

Mr Williams asked entering the house,

"Am here, what made you so happy?" Mrs Jenny 

asked,

"Finally, our dream has come true," he said

"Am not getting it, honey, what happened?" Mrs Jenny asked

"That useless girl has finally agreed to marry my Brown after she suffered enough"

Mr Williams said proudly

"Wow, such good news, immediately after the marriage, we will force her to set Claudia up with their son Clifford,"

Mrs Jenny Smirked

"Actually what's on my mind"

Tomorrow is the wedding and Mr Brown invited us, so you and Claudia should get ready so we will arrive there on time,

I can't wait to watch the look that will be on Rissa's expression tomorrow",

Mr Williams said and they laughed out loud
