Chapter 6

It's on a Saturday morning, Harry had gone to the gym for his weekend exercise with Martin's his friend. They always do this whenever they are together. Harry wears a short and free fitted T-shirt , With his musculine muscles all visible. One could tell he is athletic. He has his black durag on his head and his black and white coloured , canvas, Martins on the hand ,is on his joggers , he isn't as masculine as Harry is ,but has a nice figure,with his enticing dimples.

They both had just concluded their morning section and had to stop at a close by restaurant for breakfast.

"Lagos big boy!", Martins called out, dragging out a sit attached to the table.

Harry smiles back, knowing fully well that whenever his friend calls him out that way ,there is something definitely cooking.

"What is it man", Harry replied.

"Nothing really,just wondering",Martins said.

"And what are you wondering " Harry replied.

" I know you well my friend, and I know you don't eat out , infact you've never had breakfast out, so what's the change. I hope it isn't because you fired Clara", Martins voiced out.

"It's nothing like that, I only choose eating out today , because I felt like and not because of any one", Harry said.

"I see " ,Martin said.

" Come on , don't be like this Martin. I can as well tell my house keeper to fix me what to eat you know, it's no big deal," Harry said.

"You are sounding like that's her job, man" , Martins said.

" She would do whatever I tell her, it's as simple as that ",Harry replied.

" You can't be serious, you would turn her into your cook?" Martin asked.

" Not really man! don't make this look like am a terrible person. Well I intend employing another cook," Harry said.

" So what's keeping you", Martins asked.

"it's just that the agency that supplies my estate with cooks ,have refused sending another to work for me",Harry said

"Why is that so?"Martins asked.

"Clara reported that I manhandled her and the consultant complained of my firing two workers in the space of a month ,my past cook and gardener"Harry said.

"I warned you about this, didn't I", Martins replied.

"please the last thing I want now is to be apportioned blames", Harry said.

"So what are you going to do?, because I am very sure that you cannot cook ", Martins asked.

" Just help me find a cook, please",Harry said .

Martins revokes immediately, and refuses to get Harry a new cook, stating that he wouldn't be responsible for any quarrels and issues that would raise from it.

" I wouldn't want to get someone and later create issues for myself, please it's better you find a cook yourself" Martins said.

Harry knew it was a tight one for him, he wasn't social and had nobody he could ask for assistance. His withdrawal lifestyle had only kept him to himself and made him see reasons of not having to beg anyone. At this point he knew he had to do something fast or else he would go all hungry. He wasn't the type who loved eating out ,but he valued home made dishes.

The refusal of the estate from sending another cook to work for him had been a great problem. He never reasoned that a time would come when they wouldn't send workers his way. According to the agency ,it was already his , seventh time firing a worker and they were already tired of the situation. The agency were aware of his problematic behavior and they knew how well trained their worker were.

They knew the situation was definitely from Harry and he was up to no good, so they bluntly refused sending another.

Martins advises Harry on discussing the situation with his housekeeper , Agatha and know if she had anyone for the job. Harry declines , saying he doesn't want to ask for any favour from his workers.

"But you know there's no way she wouldn't know exactly who to work for you", Martins said. He knew Agatha has been his long lasted worked and she had learnt to cope

with him. " She would know exactly who you should employ ,that would fit into your expectations", Martins added.

Harry still insists on not needing help from anyone . "I would find a cook myself without the help of anyone " ,he said.

"Okay , congratulations with your search bro " Martins said.

Harry orders for their breakfast, of bread, eggsauce and tea. They both eat and drink when Harry's phone rings. He looks at the screen and sighs. "What's the matter?"Martins asked. "It's Bianca, she's calling",Harry replied. Martins tells him to pick up the call , but he acts a bit withdrawn from answering. He tells Martins that he doesn't understand anything anymore , ever since his last encounter with Bianca ,she had kept on calling him without giving him any privacy.

" The way she winks at me in office , or would I talk about her mid night calls, I never signed up for this bro" ,Harry lamented. Martins laughs and tells Harry that he has to adapt to the situation and he shouldn't have had anything to do with Bianca if he knew he wasn't serious about her . The calls keep coming but Harry refuses to pick it up. Martins encourages him to pick the call and reminds him of his current state.

"Who knows she might cook for you",Martin's said laughing. Harry picks up the call and speaks with Bianca, she is so excited on the line and asked him where he had dropped his phone. "I have been dialing your line for almost 10mins now, but you've not been answering, where have you been?" Bianca asked.

"Sorry dear , I am at the gym , didn't know you were calling",Harry replied, rolling his eyes with disgust. "Okay that fine, I just wanted to inform you that I would be coming over this afternoon, infact I am about leaving for the market, I'm bringing a special dish for you,she said. Harry manages to answer the call and agrees to her coming over to his house. He tells Martins about the call, who laughs expressly at him.

"Bro that's your cross now, so fix this", Martin's said. " What puts me off ,is the way she tells me what she wants to do, like she thinks I have time for all these rubbish, what's she even thinking?, that we are now a couple?"Harry said. "Whatever the matter is ,you must fix it, and that has to be immediately, if you aren't going any further with her, make sure you state or define your relationship as fast as possible",Martin's said.
