Marcus POV
I had a bad feeling about this since the moment I received the call. I was in my car with both Logan and Tanner, speeding down the road, rushing to get back to my pack lands.
Who was this Elder Attard? And why was he in my pack?
I thought about all the possible reasons why he might be there but the one that I didn’t want to think about was the one that I feared the most.
I have to protect my mate at all costs so if I will have to lie so be it I will lie if that question ever rises.

I couldn’t believe it with my own eyes as I stood there looking at that smiling face of his. Damon was here! He opened the door as Marcus came and took my hand, “Come my love. We need to go.” I blinked and walked ahead with him towards the door, feeling as this isn’t real, but the moment I walked through the door before Marcus, as he let me pass first, I smelled Damon’s familiar scent and without another thought, the realization of the situation being true, finally made me realize as I threw myself into Damon’s embrace. The air was chilly as we were for a long time riding on the dragon’s back. Two dragons were flying alongside while a huge dark one was on the front leading us to the unknown. Marcus felt a shiver run through my body as I was starting to feel cold, so he pulled me closer to his front and wrapped his arms tighter, securing me in place. The feeling was out of this world, to be in my mate’s embrace, but we all knew that the danger was not gone, just postponed. I turned to look to our side to see my brother on the front with Logan sitting on the back, trying not to be too close to James. The sight was hysterical to witness as the two bickered whole the way from the Elders’ lands.

We were all patiently sitting and waiting for the old dragon called Edmond to come as Damon went to find him. Damien called in a pack member that brought us some hot chocolate and it felt good as it tasted absolutely amazing and the warmth calmed down my nerves.
