“You useless and worthless weak omega!” he screams at me, spitting on my face.

I don't wince neither do I flinch. I don't show any sign of emotion because if I do, he'll just take more pleasure in my pain and hurt me more. Therefore, I remain stagnant, not moving at all, bracing myself for the incoming impacts.

I'm literally his punching bag! I'm useless and worthless as he says!

He continues screaming as he stops to look at my face for a while and squints his eyes. He has probably just realised he isn't going to get any reaction from me!

He spits on the side and wipes the sweat that has trickled down his face. “If you think I enjoy beating you, you're highly mistaken!” he says and then leaves.

For the hundredth time, it works. As long as I keep the pain inside, they will always leave me alone.

After he leaves, I lie there for another twenty minutes just staring at the ceiling, thinking about my life as one word keeps repeating in my head.

'Worthless Omega.'

I so hate that word!

I hate these ranks and statuses. Whoever came up with them must have been biased or kidding!

Just because these people are a rank higher than me, they think that they have the liberty to beat me up and treat me as their slave? This is so bad and unacceptable. I hate all of them with every ounce of strength in me!

I'm considered an Omega because everyone else's wolves have already shown up at around sixteen, seventeen and eighteen while I'm already twenty one years old and without a wolf. Her, ones wolf is supposed to show up before the age of eighteen where one will definitely meet his or her mate.

Your wolf showing up after one is past eighteen is practically impossible and unheard of! It's not normal at all!

I've always anticipated to have my wolf and I always believe that I'm a late bloomer and that she will eventually show up, but she doesn't. The more I wait, the more I get tired of waiting! I already believe that I am a cursed wolfless girl!

Stories are going round that I don't have a wolf because my parents betrayed the pack but I have never believed them. My parents were the best people that I have ever come across. They loved me passionately and they never wanted any harm to come over me.

But all that changed when one day I came home from school and they were gone. I searched for them everywhere all alone without anyone's help from anyone in our Pack. I searched for them for days, months and years, but just like the wind, they were gone. No trace, no nothing....it's like they disappeared into thin air!

I never hated them for leaving me behind though..... I still don't hate them and I'll never dare hate them. I know they had their reasons to leave and I can't even question them since they're nowhere to be found! I still believe they had their own reasons to do so. Maybe they couldn't bring me up because it would be too dangerous. I just can't place a finger on their reasons and motives!

As their loving daughter, I refuse to taint the happy memories that we had together. Never once did they wrong me when they were around. Never!

About a month after their disappearance, all the other wolves started beating me up and mistreating me. At first, I didn't understand what was happening therefore I ran to the Alpha's and Luna's palace because I believed they were the ones who could easily to help me and shield me from danger.

They helped for a little bit but even they couldn't defy the hierarchy of nature. I was a lower ranked wolf and I was always at the bottom. A little or no help was available.... I was beyond redemption....I was unredeemable!

As time went by, the Alpha and the Luna started using me as their punching bag and the wolf's bane tester.

After I had had enough of their mistreatments, I finally gathered enough courage and strength to escape and immediately I got out of their damned palace, I felt the warm embrace of the moon's light. I looked up and saw the moon in full bloom since it was already night time.

Everyone loves the moon goddess but I don't love her! She probably loathes me too because she didn't give me a wolf when my time came. She probably hates me too because she took everything away from me.... My parents, a good house, school, a great future, love and care as well! She literally took everything from me!

I start walking to my dilapidated shackle which is just a few minutes away from the abandoned building where the other wolves take pleasure in beating me up in. As I walk, I note that my wounds are gone and I feel no pain whatsoever. I'm miraculously healed!

These are some of the advantages of being a werewolf...or so I guess, but that consolation doesn't heal any of the wounds inside. I'm literally broken and a Were without a Wolf is useless and worthless... isn't it?

I sigh in relief when my little abode comes to sight. It's a very small house in the middle of the bush because according to the pack leadership, I don't deserve to live amongst them. They claim that I'm too dirty and weak to live among them! Well, all those privileges of living a normal life ended when my parents disappeared mysteriously!

However, I don't mind at all! In fact, I'm a happy soul because I live away from them and I'm always safe here unless I go out of my shackle.

I open the door and lie on my bed immediately. I'm hungry, but there is nothing to eat. The only times I get food is when the palace chef takes pity on me and gives me leftovers. On some days, I go hunting for food but it's risky especially in my human form but today I don't feel like getting out of my bed after a series of mistreatments from the Alpha and his Luna!

I'm physically, mentally and emotionally drained. I don't cry at all. I have long accepted that this would be my life and every torture directed to me, I deserve it!

I know I am an Omega, whether worthless or not but one thing is for sure, I can't be a rogue....I can't run away to the forest and start hunting and hurting my kind...no! However, whether I stay or leave, there won't be any difference since I would still suffer in the hands of cruel wolves!

Am I dreaming? What's really happening to me?

I open my eyes and I'm surprised to see the ground. One of my knees and my head are bowed in respect to someone whom I've never seen before!

Shaking, I look up slowly and there I see it!

There is a pond in front which is adorned with many water lilies. Near the pond, there are hundreds and hundreds of moon lilies and the moon shines so bright and so blindingly.

Although it's night time, everything around me is well illuminated. To my surprise, I can see clearly.

Then I see her....

A beautiful woman with long black luscious hair is staring up the moon before she turns to me slowly. Her white silky dress seems to flow naturally around her and shines too. Her skin is like milk and her emerald green eyes seem to glow.

She is breathtakingly beautiful, she's gracious and I can feel power emanating from her. She's definitely a powerful creature!

Her pink lips curve to a smile as she turns around completely, facing me. Then she finally speaks, her sweet and soft voice sounding like a sweet melody in my ears.

“Rise great warrior.” she finally says....Although her voice is soft, I take it as a command that I have to obey... I stand up to my feet as she has instructed!

Suddenly, I notice that my clothes resemble those of a mighty warrior. Confused, I brought my eyebrows together and that's when I hear the cute and pretty lady chuckling.

Attracted by her chuckling, I look up to her and she stops chuckling, her eyes now drowning in loneliness.

“You must hold on Hera. Just hold on, okay?” I don't think she expects any reply since after she finishes saying that, I bounce back from that astral realm.

I immediately open my eyes, blinking hard for a moment, still confused.

What just happened? Was it real or a dream?
