Run

"Mate" Reilly, My wolf growled.

Shit!.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

I stopped in my tracks, taking a step back from my supposed mate but stopped when a heart-wrenching growl, warned me to not move.

I took a good look at my mate.

A deep jet-black wolf, double the size of my wolf, his jaws pulled up in a snarl, his low growls rumbling from his chest, his deep blood-red eyes blazing in fury, entirely trained on me.

If I learnt anything from my orphanage, what I can see right now is, that by the look of my mate here, he doesn't want me alive.

I looked around for a way to escape, but a few more wolves surrounded me, caging me inside their circle.

My supposed mate, took an imposing step towards me, his head tilted to the side as he regarded me carefully before shifting to his human form.

Within a minute, a man, a drop-dead gorgeous man, proudly stood in the place of the black wolf, his hair as black as his wolf's fur, his jaws so sharp, almost resembling blades, his tanned skin covered in tattoos of a wolf and a crest stretching all over his imposing form, his muscle rippling to his every movement, his sharp see-through ocean blue eyes burned at me with so much hatred, that I felt like melting in my spot.

Reilly flinched at raging hatred from her mate, She is the one who always wished for her mate, I can see how hurt she is now.

I looked at the devilishly handsome man that kind of gave me deja vu, I remember seeing him before but I had never been out of my orphanage before a few months, and there was no way he had been to my orphanage.

My eyes roamed to his face when I finally placed where I had seen him before.

My eyes widened in realisation and pure terror of who this man is.

Alpha Aiden.

The most feared alpha of the Wolfen world, he is a ruthless and dangerous Alpha of all packs.

He was feared for many things, and one of them was the way he killed his enemies, no one stood a chance before his cruel eyes, and rogues.

He never interrogates his prisoners and never lets a rogue live another second once he lays his hands on them.

He was dreaded by even other alphas, our caretaker used to tell his stories to scare us and prevent us from running away.

I personally feared him all my life and always prayed to the moon goddess to never see him in my life.

But, here he is, I'm a rogue and I'm right in his hands to squeeze the life out of me.

No, I don't need any more clarification, I'm as good as dead.

"Shift" Alpha Aiden growled, commanding us to shift to my form, not a hint he knows I'm his mate in his voice.

Reilly whimpered at his tone before retreating to the back of my mind without a warning leaving me bare before the men.

I wrapped my hands around myself, making a feeble attempt to save my already bruised dignity.

I looked at the ground in shame, waiting for my impending death from my mate.

"Leave" He grumbled, I looked up in shock, thinking he said to me but my relief was short-lived when the other wolves left, leaving me alone with my deadly mate.

"What is your name?" He questioned.

I didn't dare to reply, suddenly forgetting everything, how to speak or breathe.

"I asked you a question Mate" He is deep voice growled, startling me.

"Rose" I shrieked, trembling in fear.

"Do you know who I am, Rose?" He questioned stepping closer to me, taking a strand of my hair and twirling it between his fingers, his mouth-watering smell of fresh apple and morning sun, invading my nose.

"Alpha Aiden," I said, trembling at the proximity.

"Good, and to you?" He asked, tugging my strand softly to keep me interacting.

"M...My Mate" I said, taking a deep unsteady breath, his smell numbing my brain.

"Good, Good" He nodded in appreciation, he was so close to me now, that I feared even breathing freely.

"Come with me," He said but didn't wait for my response as he dragged me by my hand with him, electric sparks rushing at the contact.

I wanted to ask where he was taking me but didn't dare as I followed after him.

He dragged me through the trees before stopping in a clearing where a car was standing, he walked up to it before pulling out a bag from inside, he pulled out a T-shirt for me and shorts for himself.

"Sit" he ordered, opening the passenger seat door and I did as he said.

He walked to the other side and sat in the driver's seat before pulling back and out of the forest clearing.

We drove in silence as I sat in my seat in an awkward position, trying to sit as far away from him as I could.

'Maybe mate isn't that bad?' Reilly said.

'Welcome back, done licking your wounds?' I snapped for leaving me like that.

'Don't be a bitch to me now, if you are that brave try being defiant to him' She sneered back.

I rolled my eyes and she huffed in annoyance before retreating to the back of my mind.

Alpha Aiden drove us out of the forest and slowly the pack buildings loomed one after another.

I had nightmares of what his pack would have looked like growing up.

Houses half burned and deteriorated, char-coloured, lawns dried and plants dead, howls of pains echoing and the air smells of dead rogues.

But turns out, none of those are real.

The buildings are wood cabins, everything is made of wood and every house is surrounded by trees, easy for wolves to shift and have nice runs, Everything is nature-based here, from houses to factories, and everything is made in a way to not harm the nature.

The streets are clean, the lawns are neatly manicured and houses are neatly painted.

Every single thing was in order as if someone checked each and every detail of it.

The air was so fresh reminding me of mountain air mixed with the smells of freshly made pastries and bread, The streets were lively with people mingling here and there, laughing and chatting freely.

Not what I expected Alpha Aiden'pack would be.

They stopped their chatters and bowed to us when they saw their alpha's car passing by.

I can see why it is the largest pack in the north, cause we drove for hours even though we were already inside the pack, before we reached a huge house, which I think is the pack house.

It's easily bigger than the other houses around, standing proudly in the middle, calling for attention and respect.

He stopped the car in front of the house and walked to my side to open the door for me, I got out and immediately got stared at, by the onlookers who were scrunching up their noses.

Clearly wondering what a rogue was doing in front of the pack house without being killed by their alpha yet.

I duck my head down, refusing their gazes as Alpha Aiden pulls me into the house.

I looked around the majestic house, The wooden walls were painted in cream colour and were decorated with photos of the alpha family and pack members as if symbolizing they are one huge family.

The packed house was reeking with the feel of home.

Maids ran here and there, stopping in their tracks when they looked at me, staring at me in confusion before sauntering away when they saw their alpha next to me.

Alpha Aiden pulled me up a few flights of stairs, to the third floor before opening a door for me which smelled heavily of him.

I was confused but walked in, looking around the room, It had a strong masculine tone to it, yet neat, not a thing out of its place.

"Is this your room?" I asked, turning to look at him who was looking at me with a weird look on his face, his arms crossed.

He nodded.

"Where are you from?" He asked, his eyes dark.

"Nowhere" I shrugged, putting as much space between us as I could.

His closeness is scaring me.

"You are lying," He said, his voice taking a bit deep turn.

"You don't look like someone that's been rogue for long, You are inexperienced in a fight and awfully slow to escape other rogues and live this long" He sighed, walking closer to me.

"You are lucky you are my mate, that's the only reason you are still alive and being questioned nicely, Don't test my patience and get yourself in trouble, you won't like that" He warned, his eyes dark with his wolf in front.

I tried to take a step back but hit the wall, leaving no space to run to.

"Where are you from?". He asked, glaring at me, standing just inches apart, his intoxicating smell wafting around me.

"I ran from my orphanage," I said, flinching back in fear.

"Orphanage?, And which orphanage are you from?" He asked, his fingers playing with my strands.

"A...Alpha Joseph's," I said, his eyes widened at the mention of the alpha.

"Hmm, why did you run away?". He asked,

"I turned eighteen and wanted to explore the world," I said, swallowing the bitter truth down.

He didn't say anything else, as he just stared down at me.

"C...Can I leave?" I asked, not liking being this close to him.

"Leave? Where?" He asked, taking another step towards me, his hands on either side of my face.

I didn't know what to answer, I couldn't be here, but I knew I couldn't explain it to him.

"I have to go back to the Orphanage" I lied.

" And why is that? Didn't you just say you didn't want to be there?" He asked, pushing away the stray hair from my face and tilting my chin up to meet him.

His clear blue eyes burned into mine.

"You are going nowhere my mate, did you forget you found me? This is your home now and you won't leave me" He whispered darkly, tugging my hair behind my ears, his breath fanning my face.

My breath hitched in my throat.

"Take a bath, you will be meeting others now," He said, walking away, towards the door.

Why can't he understand? I need to leave, I can no way live with a monster like him.

"Alpha Aiden" I called stopping him on his track.

"Yes Mate?" His deep voice, as deep as the depth of the ocean rumbled.

"What is your name?" I asked, he turned to me, looking at me curiously.

"You know that," He said, folding his arms.

"Y...your last name," I asked, swallowing the huge lump in my throat.

"Drezarus, Rose, our last name is Drezarus," He said, looking at me carefully.

"I ROSE VALENTINE, REJECT YOU ALPHA..." I started, his eyes widened in the realisation of what I was doing.
