Unexpected turn of events

ALPHA LEO'S POV

I woke up and left the kids still sleeping. It was early morning and the sun was nearly up. I went to my room to change and go about my morning routine. Beatrice and I had not shared a room in years.

Instead of going to my room, I contemplated getting air first to clear my head. I went to the garden and paced back and forth. I was shocked when I saw Beatrice jump over the walls of the pack mansion.

She must have missed me because I was behind a tree. She looked pleased that no one had seen her. I followed her and she looked jumpy. She kept looking around as if she was expecting to get caught.

I followed her still until she got to the corridors of the mansion then I popped up. Color immediately drained from her face as she saw me with my hands in my pockets.

"Where are you coming from?" I asked her, looking her straight in the eyes.

"Nowhere" she responded looking around like she had been caught doing something she should not have been doing.
