The confrontation

Luna Beatrice's POV

"Mother! Mother!" I heard the voice of my favorite child coming from all the way down the hallway.

"Why are you shouting?" I asked him calmly.

He stood in front of me ,eyes red with tears and anger.

"How could you be so calm and unbothered?" he asked me with fury in his eyes.

I gave him a blank look as if I had no idea what he was talking about.

"Do you have to hurt her with every chance you get?How do you sleep at night knowing what you have done to your daughter?" he said, throwing his hands everywhere and asking too many questions I don't intend to answer.

I chose however to answer the one about my state of sleep at night and ignored the rest.

"I sleep peacefully because I have no daughter," I responded with an attitude.

The shock on his face is alarming ,it's as if he knows of a child I know nothing about.

"You are impossible" he said angrily

"Sometimes I am ashamed to call you my mother" he spits. The confession stung a little but I consoled myself and said it's because of his anger that he said such.

"People like you have a special place in hell, I tell you" he said looking at me angrily.

"People like me" I scoffed.

"People like me own empires in hell" I uttered in confidence.

" You are wicked , pure evil" he shouted in frustration.

"Thank you" I responded sarcastically.

My son stood in awe and wondered at my lack of remorse. I looked at him and this one had soft tendencies.I had grown up with men who showed no emotions. A man must stand his ground and not be a cry baby. I thought to myself. My son on the other hand wore his heart on his sleeve.

The crown prince however was here doing water works and disturbing my peace. I knew I was making no mistake by wanting to rule because this one wouldn't survive a day.

I gestured for him to sit with me and have a drink but he stood on the spot he had occupied and continued ranting.

"She is your daughter for crying out loud, can't you try and forgive her for whatever she did to you?" he asked his hands now in his pocket.

"No I can't do that," I said, crossing my legs.

"But why, I don't understand?" he probed on.

"Let it go, you will never understand" I responded.

"Make me understand!" he shouted and it was clear as day on his face that the shout was not intended.

"If you are going to shout like this ,at least drink water and breathe before you lose consciousness" I said laughing so hard I felt a little pain in my ribs.

He didn't find this funny , instead he looked at me and waited for me to compose myself. After I had sat up , he looked at me like a teacher would a naughty school girl.

"You never take anything serious do you?" he questioned me.

"Forgive me, I do not have the ability to take things very seriously " I responded, still in stitches.

He was so annoyed , he walked off without a word. He must have forgotten something because he turned around and came back charging at me.I looked at him unable to take him seriously and I carried on laughing. He abruptly stopped and began to speak.Dramatic I must say. Above all very unnecessary. I sat and crossed my legs and listened to him.

"If anything and I mean anything happens to Mandy I will hate you. I will not forgive you. Never!" he pointed at me and his voice was high pitched because of anger.

The nerve and the disrespect , I thought. I sat up straight and looked him straight in the eyes.My demeanor changed from playful to serious.I had to set the record straight with him.

"Young man, I am still your mother, you will watch your tone when you speak to me. I will not be disrespected by a little boy I birthed just yesterday. Am I understood?" I asked him in a threatening voice

"You could have killed her" he redirected

"Oh come off it, she has survived far worse than a vase to her head" I said unbothered.

I think back to when I had locked her in a drum ready to get her out of the pack house but the little witch survived endless hours in there.By the time I moved the drum thinking she had passed out, she screamed and Leo came to her rescue.

"And that makes it ok for you to keep hurting her because she has survived far worse" he said looking astonished and even angrier at me.

"She is yet to survive the worst, she has survival skills that one" I said trying to be funny but he doesn't get it.

"The worst was what you put her through, how evil can you get?" he said looking bothered by me being unbothered.

I laughed as if what he just said to me was a joke. Mandy had followers willing to die for her cause. I thought to myself. He looked at me as if scanning to see if I would be moved.Nothing. I never got moved by anything.

He shook his head and headed out once again passing his father whom I assumed was also here to see me about his little princess.

"Not you too" I said before he opened his mouth to speak.

"Let this be the last time you lay a finger on my daughter or else" he said angrily.

"or else what Leo, what will you do?" I openly disrespected his authority and power.

"I will show you a side of me that you don't believe exists" he saif threatening me but I pushed him a little more trying to see how far he would go.

"You are a has been, you bark but have no bite ,nothing you say can move me so please go and rest" I said pushing him.

"my daughter will..." I cut him off before he finishes

"Argh Leo, that is not your daughter and you know it, how you have the nerve to claim the child of another is beyond me. Have you gone impotent that you don't want to fill me up and have your own child" I said laughing.

I had not expected it but a slap landed on my cheek and it stung. The smirk on my face was wiped off so fast it hurt. I stood motionless and wiped the sting with my hand.

I raised my hand to return the slap and my hand stopped in mid air and it was thrown down. I raised my hand again but before it could reach him I earned myself another bonus slap on the other cheek.Leo held my hand and shoved me down to the closest seat.He brought his face to mine and spoke with so much hate in his voice.

"Repeat what you did today and you will know me. This I promise" he stamped his threat with a slight laugh and walked off. I was left nursing my cheeks and fuming in anger.

I hadn't had much time to myself when I was hit by a wave that sent me into a trance. I was being summoned by Deborah. Today was just not my day. The witch wanted to discuss our plans for Mandy and I was not ready to entertain her. I stood up and made my way to her.
