Chapter 3

The black car stopped in front of her house. Riley was about to unfasten the seat belt, when Bruce leaned over, pressed the buckle of the seat belt, and the seat belt was released. His handsome face was near her. Her heart started beating faster and her cheeks started to blush. This man’s face alone is enough to make all women fall in love. But thinking about his bad behavior yesterday, Riley’s expression returned to its nature. It was just a rich dude who has bad taste and hates his cousin. She raised her head the expression on her face was a bit dull, 

- I’m going to get off the car now. - she said.

Bruce’s eyes shrank slightly, and his aura disappeared. Riley was aware of his changes, and she was about to get out of the car when she opened the door, but one arm quickly grabbed her hand, and he spoke. 

- I brought my cousin to her home, Why would my cousin not thank me? he said with a smirk on his face

She lowered her head, with a little wince in her expression, and whispered in a low voice, 

- Thank you.

Bruce looked at her slightly pursed pink lips, his expression deepening, 

- It is so insincere, I have to give thanks to myself.

He thought. She is his wife, why would he be patient? He can kiss her whenever he wants and she can not do anything about it.

Thinking so, he leaned over and pressed his lips, and kissed her. Riley felt him covering her lips. She stared at his face in front of her eyes dumbfounded, reaching out to push him away, but found that her hands had been tightly held by him. Bruce was very satisfied with her reaction. He freed a hand and took off a strand of hair and put it behind her ear. Riley’s cheeks were burning. This man was so presumptuous that he dared to assault her in front of her house! 

He said: -It’s warm and sweet, I want to try it again when I have a chance.

In the second half of the sentence, he deliberately lowered the volume but increased his tone again, and his eyes patrolled her unscrupulously. It was like a fierce beast patrolling its territory, full of excitement. Just as Riley was about to scold him for being shameless, a female voice broke the silence in the car.

- Hey? Tabitha said

Hearing the words, Riley turned her head and looked out the half-open car window. Tabitha's eyes widened in shock, half astonished and half as angry.

Why are you here? - she asked her

Riley clenched her hand tightly, a trace of panic flashed quickly in her eyes. On the second day after the wedding, she was seen by her stepmother in front of the house. Tabitha cared about her family's reputation and looked around the car, she found no one, so she said:

- Come, let's go inside. We have a lot to talk about. Tabitha said.

Riley got out of the car and started walking inside. Right in front of the door, Bruce poked his head out of the window, rubbing his lips with his fingers wickedly, and said:

-Cousin, I’m waiting for you, please hurry up.

When Tabitha heard the word “cousin”, her expression became severe, and she gave Riley a cold and angry look.

 Riley bit her lip. Is this “Leonardo” trying to kill her? she thought.

Tabitha pulled Riley into the hallway of the house, and then coldly shook her hand away. She looked at Riley with a bad expression and said:

- That man called you cousin just now? Is it Bruce’s cousin?”

- Yes he is. Riley answered.

SLAP

Tabitha slapped her, making Riley's ears buzz.

- If you plan to be shameless and be alone with a man in a car after the second day of your wedding do not dare to come here. You will be not permitted to enter. Tabitha yelled.

Riley lowered her eyes, touched her painful face, and coldly raised her head to Tabitha

- Why don’t you ask me if I was doing it voluntarily? Riley said.

This is the case every time. Whenever something happens, she will scold her and teach her first, and never ask the reason. It was like she did not love her, respect her, or even thought of her as her daughter, or a normal human being.

- One is a disfigured and impotent crippled person, and the other is a normal and healthy man. Normal people know who to choose. Didn’t you also spend time with this ‘cousin’ last night? Lisa spoke

As soon as Tabitha saw Lisa coming down, she hurriedly greeted her and asked concerned, 

- Lisa, are you getting better? - Tabitha asked with a worried voice.

“Mom, I’m much better.” Lisa smiled softly 

While Lisa was upstairs, she saw Riley and an unknown man kissing inside of the black car. She never thought that Riley, who usually looks innocent and decent would do that to her husband. People who don’t know Lisa would say she is beautiful and warm, but the ones that do know her like Riley would say she is a bad person that has always wanted everything that Riley had and that she did not choose the means to take it from Riley. 

Riley went upstairs and packed a suitcase and a few books in a bag and decided to leave and go to the mansion by herself. She did not need anyone especially not Leonardo, who only got her in trouble.

Bruce waited for her for a long time at the front door of Cates's house, but Riley did not come out, he was getting nervous. Thinking of the information from the materials he saw yesterday, his handsome eyebrows frowned. Is that woman being bullied by her family? he wondered. As soon as this thought came up, he couldn’t help but stretched out his hand to touch his face that had been slapped by her. She didn’t seem to be easily bullied.

- Sir, do you want to come in and sit down? - Lisa asked

A soft female voice came, and Bruce turned his head and looked out the window, and saw a delicate-faced woman standing by the car. When Lisa saw his face, she couldn’t help being stunned. She saw Riley and a man kissing, but she didn’t expect this man to be so good-looking and so temperamental. How could such an outstanding man fall in love with that stupid girl? Lisa thought. It seemed that she was right in her decision to try her luck.

Bruce sneered, 

- No thank you I will wait for Riley here. he said

He didn’t have the patience to talk to her anymore, and asked blankly, 

- Where is Riley, what is she doing?

- She…she should be packing in her room. She told me to come out and ask you if you want to come in and join us for a cup of tea. Lisa said. 

-No thank you. He didn’t even bother to give Lisa an extra look, lowered the window, and drove away directly.

Lisa had never been so coldly treated by a man before, and her face turned blue with anger for a while. She hated her stepsister and was sure that she will do everything she can to take this man away as well.
