Search Day 2

I sat up as hope filled me, I needed to get the hell out of here. I knew my pack was searching for me, but we needed to get out now. I can’t sit and wait to be rescued, I’ll kill myself before I let that piece of garbage touch me again.

Wait, “Pups?”, I asked Lyla.

“Yes doll, I was trying to tell you earlier. We’re carrying our mates pups. That’s why it took so long to get my energy back, I’ve been keeping them safe and protected”, she explained.

Tears sprang to my eyes, I was happy, scared, and worried. “Lyla, what if our mates don't want us anymore?”, I asked sadly.

She howled in pain at the thought, “They love us, they will never hurt us”, she tried calming me down.

“But, we’re damaged now, we’re not the same anymore”, I let the tears fall and roll off my cheeks.

“Loralei, you are strong and powerful, we are royalty I need you snap out of it! Our pups need us, we need to get out first and then worry about everything else after. Do you understand me? Whatever happens, you have me and I have you. We have wonderful parents and amazing brothers. We will get through this, but I need you to get us out so that I can shift and get us somewhere safe”, she barked at me.

She was right, I need to protect my pups no matter what, they’re my priority now. “You’re right Lyla, thank you”, I took a deep breath.

I only recently learned of my siren song, the words come to you in a dream when you turn eighteen, my own personal song. It was my melody and I could never forget the words.

After a few hours of talking to Lyla, my door opened and satan walked in. “Time to play pet”, I internally rolled my eyes.

I stood up, I had to leave right now, I felt my eyes brighten and began my own song. This was my only way to freedom.

“The moon is home and I am free, the stars will always guide me. I know my way through the night, even when I’m lost. The strength I have comes from her, Selene will always rescue me. I found a way to be me, even with the heartache. I am strong, I am fierce, I have the will. The path I take, will be long, but freedom is my choice. Protect the ones, I hold dear, including me I have no fear. I found my hopes and my dreams, it starts with loving all of me. La, la, la, la, la, la, and now I go with peace.

As I sang I saw Marcelo’s eyes dilate, I sang with all I had. As I sang the last of my song I walked to the door and ran down the hall as fast as I could.

“The song will no longer compel him once we're out of this damn place, we have lay low until you can use your gifts,” Lyla quickly told me.

I rounded the corner and saw the lady who brought me food earlier, her eyes wide. “Please, which way is the exit”, I grabbed her arms.

“Princess, come follow me quickly”, she grabbed my hand in a rush and pulled me with her.

I had no choice, I had to trust her, we ran for a few minutes before we came across what looked like a basement door. “The dungeons have a tunnel we can use to leave”, she grabbed my hand and guided me through a series of turns.

“We?”, I asked.

“Yes we, I’m a seer and you are my destiny”, she said quickly.

I had no idea what the hell was going on, but I needed to get out of here before processing what this woman just told me. After what felt like forever but was really only about five minutes we came across a cave like tunnel. It was wide enough for Lyla.

“Hop onto my back and explain the way we must take”, I shifted and gave Lyla full control.

The Search Teams

After running for ten hours and several hundred more miles the teams stopped to rest for a few hours. It was about eight in the evening, the teams ate and most took a quick nap.

Jack was sitting with his best friend Ares, “We’ll find her Jack”, Ares tried comforting him.

Just then a vision engulfed him, he saw his mate taking shelter in a cave with a woman. They had a small fire going, the woman was skinning a rabbit for them to eat. There were many vampires out searching for them but the woman seemed to be shielding them, protecting Loralei.

His vision ended and he stood abruptly “What did you see?”, Ares asked quickly.

“I just had a vision”, Jack mind linked his Alpha’s, Luna’s, and team leaders.

“Loralei escaped, she’s with an older woman, the woman helped her and is protecting her. There in a cave somewhere”, he started explaining.

“Thank the goddess”, Xander and Xavier said at the same time.

“Looks like Marcelo sent vampires to search for them, we need to be extra cautious. I will keep trying to contact her”, he finished.

“I will let Mila know, this is great news”, Alpha Axel said, relief flooding through him.

“We need to separate into two teams now, Adonis, Ares, and Xavier’s team will continue to search for the bastard. My team and Alpha Axel’s team will search for Loralei and the mystery woman”, Xander ordered.

Selene and Nahla were trying to hold in their tears of joy, their daughter was able to escape. They needed to get to her, time was running out.

“Yes Alpha”, they all said.

The team leaders quickly told everyone the new plan, they were all so relieved that their Alpha Princess had escaped. Hope filled them and they began packing up to go on with their search.

Mila POV

I was contacted by the Council two days ago, the Alpha Princess was kidnapped. One of my closest friends was kidnapped by a deranged, psychotic vampire lord. I should of been there, I was supposed to stay the week at Silver Moon after the Quads eighteenth birthday. A last minute mission came up and I had to cancel my plans.

Being the leader of the mercenaries was a hard job and I was good at it. I worked hard and earned my position. But I barely saw my family and friends. It’s been almost a year since I last saw Loralei, Ava, and Aria. I was a few years older than them but we’re close and had grown up together. Now I’m on this priority mission to rescue my friend, my Alpha Princess. My wolf was snarling, Georgia wanted blood, my team is furious.

We had the latest technology and after searching for a few days, we found where most of the activity has been taking place, Bàlvànyos Castle. The bastard must have returned after all these years. He was going to regret kidnapping my Alpha Princess, I was going to torture that piece of shit.

“Sweetheart”, I heard my dad over our mind link.

Being part dragon has its advantages, we could communicate from farther distances. Though I didn’t have a dragon, I did have dragon blood in me.

“Hey dad, any news?”, I quickly asked.

“The princess managed to escape, she’s taking shelter in a cave with a woman who helped her. Vampires will be searching for them any minute now. Jack just had the vision”, I felt such relief wash over me and I could tell my dad did as well.

“That’s great, let everyone know that Lord Marcelo is in his castle. I am certain, there’s been a lot of activity here the last two days. I will send half my team down to kill any stray vampires within a fifty mile radius”, I quickly said cutting the link.

“I need twenty of you to stay out of sight but close enough to kill any vampire or enemies within a fifty mile radius”, I commanded.

“Yes commander”, they answered.

“Liam I need you to pull up all the caves within a three hundred mile radius”, I commanded. He nodded and went to work.

“I need ten of you to go further out, set up an additional thirty miles to kill the bastards”, I barked out my orders.

“Yes commander”, they went to do what I was asked.

My team is amazing, handpicked and trained by me. I trusted them with my life and I knew that we would find Loralei within the next twenty four hours. I sent a mental image to my father of my location, he’ll share it with the search teams. Everyone is a few hundred miles away, my dad is at least.

After about ten minutes Liam pulled up the surrounding caves and two tunnels leading to the castle.

“Great job Liam”, he was the best at what he did.

After looking over the caves, I was confident that there were two possibilities. Loralei and her savior had to be at one of the two, they were big enough for two people and were hidden. I grew up with Loralei, she’s my best friend, I trained with her, I knew how she thought. Hidden and out of sight is the best tactic for someone who is still weak from whatever that damn vampire prick did to her.

I sent the coordinates and images to my father, he’ll share it with the Alpha’s. After looking over the tunnels, their location and entry points, I thought it was best for one of the teams to take the tunnel system.

The entrances were near each other, a few miles apart. Loralei more than likely escaped through one of them. The search teams should catch her scent and get into the tunnel she used. This will be a good surprise attack, again I sent the location to my dad to share with the teams.

I suited up, and with the remaining ten mercenaries, “Suit up, were meeting the Alpha King and Alpha Princes’ at the tunnels”, I ordered.

They should be here in a few hours, it gave us time to scout the area and kill any stray vampires that we missed.
