VIVIENNE’S POV

I woke before dawn.

Not because of noise or nightmares, but because my body already knew this place was about to become a memory.

The light spilling through the tall windows was pale and cold, brushing the stone walls like a reluctant goodbye. For a moment, I stayed still, staring at the ceiling, listening to the quiet hum of Blackwood territory waking up, distant footsteps, the soft pulse of wards resetting, the low murmur of magic stitched into the land itself.

This was peace,

  • Theirs To Possess And Ruin   165: Marcus Arrival

VivienneI was still going through my phone, scrolling through scanned pages of old laws and half-forgotten underworld clauses while food sat in front of me getting cold, and even though I knew exactly how ridiculous that looked, I didn’t stop because my mind wouldn’t let me. Every line I read felt like it could be the missing piece, the one loophole that would save all of us from Marcus’s stupid claim, and I couldn’t afford to relax, not when I knew how dangerous that man was and how far he was willing to go just to drag me back down. The dining table was quiet in a way that wasn’t normal for us, it was not loud or chaotic kind I had gotten used to, but something more controlled, like everyone was watching their steps around something fragile. I could feel their eyes on me every now and then, especially his, but I kept my focus on the screen, thumb moving, eyes scanning, refusing to look up because the moment I did, I knew I’d get distracted. And I couldn’t afford that. Not now.“Ea

  • Theirs To Possess And Ruin   164: Buried in Rules

VivienneI groaned as Ryker and Asher dropped yet another pile of books in front of me, the sound of heavy leather hitting the table echoing louder than it should have, probably because my head was already pounding from hours of reading nonsense that barely made sense. I dragged my hands down my face slowly, resisting the very real urge to cry, scream, or just flip the entire table and be done with it, because I had been sitting in this damn private library since morning, digging through ancient laws, outdated contracts, and underworld codes that were written like the people who made them enjoyed confusing others for sport.“This is ridiculous,” I muttered, staring at the open book in front of me like it personally offended me. “Who writes laws like this? Half of this sounds like drunk men arguing over ownership of goats and somehow deciding it applies to people.”Asher chuckled lightly behind me, not even trying to hide it, while Ryker just shook his head and moved one of the stacks

  • Theirs To Possess And Ruin   163: In His Arms.

RykerMy arms were around the sleeping Vivienne and I felt at peace for the first time in weeks. She was curled up against my chest, her breathing slow and even, one hand still loosely fisted in my shirt like she was afraid I might disappear if she let go. I kept my hold gentle but firm, one arm wrapped around her back, the other resting on her waist. Her hair smelled like the soap she always used and something that was just her, and every time she shifted a little in her sleep, my chest tightened in the best and worst way.I had missed this woman madly. When she distanced herself from us, it hurt like hell. Every day without her felt wrong. The pack kept moving, the duties kept coming, but something inside me stayed empty. I prayed to the goddess every night that she would come back to us, that she would stop pushing us away and let us in again. I never said it out loud to my brothers, but I think they felt the same. We all did.Now she was here, warm and trusting in my arms, and t

  • Theirs To Possess And Ruin   162: Where She Needs To Be

VivienneThe room felt smaller now, not in a bad way, just… different. I stood there for a second, suddenly unsure what to do with my hands or my words or even my breathing. Asking him to stay had felt necessary when the words came out, but now that he was actually here, the weight of it settled on me in a way I wasn’t ready for.I cleared my throat lightly and moved toward the bed, sitting on the edge as I glanced at him. He didn’t rush or make it awkward. He just walked over slowly and sat on the chair near the window, giving me space like he always did, like he knew I needed it even when I didn’t say it.“Thanks,” I muttered, looking down at my hands because looking at him felt too much right now. “For staying.”Ryker nodded once, his voice low and calm. “You don’t have to thank me for that.”I let out a small breath and rubbed my arms, even though I wasn’t cold. The silence wasn’t uncomfortable, but it wasn’t easy either. Too many things sat between us, things I still hadn’t fixed

  • Theirs To Possess And Ruin   161: Stay

VivienneIt was late, the kind of late where the whole pack had gone quiet and even the guards outside had stopped shifting as much, but my head refused to shut up. I had been pacing for what felt like hours, moving from the window to the bed and back again, my thoughts circling the same problem over and over until it felt like I was wearing grooves into the floor.I’d gone through the file again. Twice. Then a third time just to make sure I wasn’t missing something obvious, something small that could turn this around, but every angle led to the same place. Marcus had found a legal thread buried deep enough that no one bothered to question it until now, and he was using it perfectly, not to rush or attack blindly, but to corner. And I hated that because it meant he had learned. It meant he wasn’t the same reckless man I had once outplayed.“I should’ve killed you when I had the chance,” I muttered under my breath, dragging a hand down my face as I stopped by the window again. The mo

  • Theirs To Possess And Ruin   160: Heavy Weight

VivienneI looked at them and waited, but no one said anything, and that silence… it pressed down on me in a way I didn’t likeIt was heavy and steady, like they were all thinking the same thing but no one wanted to be the first to say it out loud. It wasn’t the loud, aggressive tension I was used to with them, not the kind filled with growls and sharp words, but something quieter, colder, more dangerous, and that scared me more than any fight ever could.I forced myself to stay still, even though my fingers were itching to move, to grab the file again, to tear it apart and find something, anything that made this less real, but there was nothing to find. Marcus had done exactly what he always did, twisted something old or forgotten, and turned it into a weapon.“What do you want to do?” Dante finally asked. The question landed directly on me, simple, calm, but heavy with responsibility, and for the first time in a long time… I had nothing.I shifted slightly in my seat, my shoulders

VIVIENNEThe men were glaring at me like I’d personally declared war on their pride, their lineage, and whatever fragile sense of control they still thought they had. I, on the other hand, was very busy enjoying my food.Leg propped on the chair.Plate balanced on my knee.Chewing slowly, loudly an

I said with a smile and she nodded, giving the men a look that could kill."Call us if you need anything." Atlas said and I nodde
