Mag-log inSofia watched him pick out dresses, designed by top designers. One she'd only seen in fashion magazines.
He kept filling the trolley, while she watched in stunned silence.
The worth of everything he picked was ten times her mortgage. More money than she'd ever smelt her entire life.
“Fret not, babe,” Kael smirked. “The worth of everything in this basket is just a quarter of a Viper girl’s monthly salary, which is only a little over half of what a hockey player earns.”
Her mouth dropped. If her lower jaw was not connected to her face, it'll be on the floor already.
She knew the entire Vipers’ team was elite, she just wasn't aware they earned that much. If she could get that, she'll be able to survive independently, away from her family.
“Let's go try it on, shall we?” Kael's voice pulled her back. She trailed behind him, obediently, tugging the hem of her shirt.
“This way sir/ma'am," an attendant lead them to one of the dressing rooms while another pushed the trolley full of dresses after them.
“Come with me ma'am," she turned and smiled at Sofia. “I'll be assisting you try on your dresses.
Sofia walked in after the attendant, while Kael sat on a sofa facing the dressing room, sipping a coffee given to him by a mall manager.
Five minutes later, Sofia stepped out dressed in a mermaid gown that was fitted through the bodice, hips and thighs, and flared out dramatically at the knee.
It hugged her waist and hips, flattering her hourglass figure, the flare adding drama to her legs.
She looked so breathtaking Kael choked on spit but concealed it immediately.
“What do you think?" Sofia asked when he wasn't saying anything.
“I don't know," he feigned disinterest. “Turn around."
He was trying to hide his swept away expression from her, hopping looking at her back would let him focus a bit.
But the next second, his eyes landed on her butt, and his mouth suddenly went dry.
It was round and toned, but it still looked soft and feminine. The dress also hugged her hips, further accentuating her hour glass figure.
She had the face and body to drive a supermodel mad with jealousy. And somehow she was playing cleanup for her brother's mess.
Deep down he wondered why no brand her scouted her already.
“It's perfect,” he said finally. Try the next one.
She simply turned and walked back into the dressing room, his eyes glued on her.
How's she going to look in the next dress, he sighed.
The next was a Corseted Ball Gown, its Ultra-fitted boned bodice and full voluminous silk skirt clinched her already tiny waist to its smallest point.
“Take it off," he didn't like how it hugged her waist. “I don't want my woman dying of Asphyxiation. "
“You already consider her your woman?," his subconscious taunted making him groan out loud.
“We are sorry sir, but we'll have her take off the dress immediately,” a manager quickly apologize and signalled to an attendant. He was caught mid sentence by Kael's groan while he was asking why they won't be taking the dress.
Sofia heaved a sigh of relief as she took the dress off. She was already short of air the short 5 minutes she had it on. She feared she might just pass out if she wore it for a long time.
She spent and hour trying on everything Kael got. From dresses that cost a fortune to shoes and jewelry enough to cover her student loans twice. Even the casual and active wear was twice her dad's salary.
After what felt like forever, Kael led her out of the Mall, five assistants trailing behind them with huge shopping bags.
“Let's go get your hair done,” he said leading her towards a reserved elevator leaving the assistants to take the regular elevator.
It was only after the elevator doors dinged close that her legs gave way. She plopped down to the floor like a bag of potatoes, ignoring the way he looked at her LL like she'd grown horns.
Well they were alone and the elevator was sparkling clean.
She used her hands to massage her legs which felt like they were tied to weights. The strain from skating and standing for hours weighing in on her.
She didn't know how long they'd been there but she yelped as Kael picked her up in his hands just as the elevator doors slid open.
“Put me down, I can walk by myself," she tried to wriggle free from his arms, which was futile because,he was bigger and stronger, and she felt like paper in his arms.
“What if someone sees us?" She pouted, still trying to break free.
“That's the point Sofia, let them seee." He smirked showing off his dimples.
“But..," her stomach rumbled loudly cutting her off. She turned her red face away, while he laughed, and strangely she loved the sound of his laughter, and the vibration of his chest when he laughed.
Kael carried her all the way to the parking lot of the Mall, only putting her down in his car. Strangely the mall seemed empty today, there was no one in the section they shopped or the entire journey to the reserved garage.
Sofia had earlier texted Sean to leave since shopping was going to take time, so she just sat obediently in the car.
Kael got in the driver's side and ignited the engine, then pulled out of the parking lot and hit the road to an unknown destination.
The entire drive was peacefully silent, each with their own similar thoughts.
They occasionally stole glances at each other, looking away immediately their eyes met.
She liked his defined jawline, how his hair tousled over on one side of his face. And his thin lips, she wondered if they felt as soft as they looked. He smelled like Vanilla mixed with something sweet, it was intoxicating making her want to find out if he tasted like the way he smelled. What if Sean hadn't interrupted them?
She swallowed, forcing herself to stop stealing glances at him, and pushed the vile thought to the back of her mind, ashamed that she felt mad and disappointed Sean had showed up.
He pulled up at the garage of a fancy Chinese restaurant. He pulled out a mask after killing the engine before stepping out. Curious she stepped out after him, wincing as she placed her feet on the ground.
Seeing her discomfort, he came over to assist her, taking her hand in his and guiding her into the restaurant with the other hand placed on her back. People around stared, curious and in admiration at both of them, mistaking them as loving couples.
Somehow Kael liked the look of admiration, he stared in pride smirking at the men who glared at him, in envy.
With her beautiful red hair, blue eyes and porcelain skin, Sofia was a beauty to behold.
He found a seat and they settled in facing each other.
He kept staring throughout the meal, unable to take his eyes off her. She was the most naturally beautiful girl he'd seen in Northgate, despite her casual style.
“What was Sean doing with all the money he earned, if he couldn't spend any on his sister?” He wondered, the resentment he had for the dude suddenly tripling. She could be a sought after model with her alluring features.
His thoughts continued wandering even to places they should not, as he watched her devoured her food.
She looked funny, in a cute way, and it was also amusing that she didn't pretend to not want to eat with him present, like other girls.
MEANWHILE
The dark figure from earlier stealthily slipped into a dark basement in a beyond luxurious mansion, completely unseen by anyone.
He knelt before a tall cloaked man. The man turned around, and faced the kneeling man who kept his head bowed.
“What did you find?” He asked, his voice void of any kind feeling.
“I found him at a mall, with a girl, shopping,” the kneeling man responded, and raised a picture up to the man, head still bowed.
“You can go, but continue keeping am eye on him," he took the picture and instructed the man slipping away into the dar

“I’ll get you, Kai, I promise," he muttered, carefully putting away the picture in a cupboard amongst several others.

FLASHBACK“I’m the Swan Princess. Yayy!” Five year old Sofia twirled on the ice holding her dress like Disney princesses do in cartoons.“You’re not the Swan Princess, Aubrey Sinclair is," said a little boy.“She’s whatever she says she is. If she says she's the Swan Princess, then she is the Swan Princess." Sean jumped into his sister's defense.“Get off the ice Sofia, you're interrupting your brother's practice.” Their mother approached them and pulled Sofia off the rink.“But I wanna skate too," little Sofia pouted close to tears.“Be quiet, Only Sean is allowed to skate,” her mother scolded her, anger flashing through her eyes.“But I can skate with the other girls," Sofia cried, staring at the little girls figure skating at the other rink with a longing look.“How many times have I warned you not to try outshining your brother,” Mrs Rich spanked her little daughter, Sofia in anger. Sofia let out a cry, unable to understand why her parents never let her do what other kids did.FLA
Neither of them heard the footsteps. They were too lost in each other—in the feel and heat of their bodies pressed together and the deeply intimate position they both hated for loving. It was a very suggestive position. And then…“What the hell is this!" The voice was familiar. Sharp and enraged.Sofia's blood ran cold and colour drained from her face. She immediately broke free from Kael's grip and whipped her head around and found her brother standing at the edge of the ice rink. His jaw was clenched. Too hard, enough to crack, his fists clenched tight at his sides. So tight tiny droplets of blood flowed from his palms to the ice surface. He looked like he was about to commit murder." Sean..” Sofia started.“Don't." He cut her off and stepped on the ice, his hockey skates making angry scrapping sounds against the surface of the ice.“Don’t you dare tell me this isn't what it looks like. I just walked in on my twin sister cozying up to the bastard who's made my life a living hell,
The Next Morning.Sofia woke to the full ache of overused muscles. Her thighs, calves and lower back burned like someone had taken a hammer to it. She lay in bed for a long while savoring the memory of the previous night. Being on the rink yesterday, dancing to the sound of the breeze, finally doing the one thing she loves in a long while felt refreshing. She'd danced and danced until her feet became numb and her aching muscles drowned out her heartache. It had been three weeks since she'd been on ice. Three weeks since she was her true self—a figure skater. She'd been too focused on saving Sean's career, and now playing a perfect fake girlfriend for her brother's bitter rival. Until the previous night, she'd forgotten what being her truly felt like.Last night, she skated until her legs gave out, unable to support her body weight any longer, she'd collapsed on the ice, chest heaving, tears flowing down her cheeks and freezing on the ice.And then she'd limped home and gotten into bed
Chapter 5His ex—Camela sat on his sister's bed, digging her claw like crimson coloured nails into her dark locks like she cared. Seeing his sister peacefully asleep made him relaxed for a bit, even if there was nothing caring about Camela petting her to sleep. The act was more of a reminder that his sister needed her to calm her severe anxiety, and that he needed her even if they'd broken up.When she was certain the little girl was in Dreamland, she walked out and shut the door with that smirk that was always a big turn on for him. When they were together. He quickly averted his gaze when he caught himself staring too much, annoyed that she still had such an effect on him.“You love her don't you?” she drawled covering the little space between them. “You are being a bad brother by letting her suffer when I can calm her down, forget that bitch you've been running around with and come to mama." He gulped as she trailed her index finger across his chest, tracing his abs through his t
SOFIA“Wow." Didn't expect that. Kael's really ruthless. Well she kinda deserved that. Imagine having the boldness to seduce a client. She must have gotten away a lot before today. “Better to focus on the reason I'm here.” She shrugged lifting her coffee to her lips. The rich smell hit her nostrils before the cup even reached her lips making her salivate.“Do you want me to never place an order for you?" Kael mocked seeing her pleased expression.“I..”A man walked up to them before she could say a word. He wore a black leather jacket on white denim jeans. His sneakers alone could buy a hundred figure skates. Kael gestured to an empty seat close to him after nodding to the man's greetings.“This is Mark, my PR team head, he'll help us pull this off successfully. Mark this is Sofia," Kael introduced. “Hi Mark.”“Hi Sofia." They exchanged pleasantries before Mark turned to Kael.“She’s a perfect fit. You have good eyes sir.”Kael secretly loved the compliment but masked it with a pis
