"Yash" Sherlin whispered, he was hugging her for the past hour, she could feel his breath steady but his heartbeat was still fast-paced.This was certainly not good for his health, he could develop blood pressure this way or heart problems."Yash," She called his name again,"She left me," Yash said as Sherlin parted herself a little from him just to take a look at his broken self. The pain in his eyes was evident but what confused her was the anger slowly building up.She had never seen anger in his eyes for Shayra and didn't really understand him looking at the place they burned her dead body with anger."Wo ladh sakti thi (She could have fought)" Yash said as he parted himself from her and walked towards the ashes."Yash" Sherlin could sense the anger radiating off him."Wo ladh Sakti thi! But no she wanted to leave me, and see she won, she fucking won," Yash screamed as tears escaped his eyes.“Shut up Yash, you are not the only one who lost a dear one, She was my sister too, I lost my sister, Ahana, that kid does not even have an idea she lost her mother, she was the only family I was left with and she is dead too,” Sherlin said, wanting to make him understand he was not the only one in pain but he ignored it.He couldn't shake off the image of her taking his permission to leave this world. Her last words to him were her love confession."She never loved me," He said as he started squatting there. He doesn't know why but he just needed to feel his body, his muscles were numb, and he couldn't take it."Yash, Yash, you have handled yourself," Sherlin tried to go near him but his squatting didn't help if she will try she will fall directly on top of him and that's the last thing they want in that mental condition."Handle? What can I handle? I couldn't handle my wife, she died, she died right in front of me, in my hands, she took—she took her last breath, I'll handle myself? What a joke!" suddenly chuckles echoed in the whole area, it was quiet, too quiet. It looked as if he was high on something.Well, he was high in painPain is a kind-of drug too, a drug people run away from, all their lives they want to avoid this drug but they never accept that we have become addicted to this drug.Whenever hope flickers, this addiction comes and ruins and it ruined him.It ruined him for the worst."Yash," her voice quivered as her throat ached."She never loved me, she just played and now she left me, she fucking left me,"“She never loved me”“She never loved me” He kept saying that until a slap landed on his cheeks. His hand reached to his cheek; the stinging sensation made her look at Sherlin. "Don't" She showed him her index finger, her long nail was half broken because of the impact of the slap.Yash looked at her."Don't insult her love for you if you can't respect her love for you, Yash” He smirked at her with his red eyes."She left you for you, you can never understand it” She was about to walk away when Yash held her hand painfully tight."What the fuck does that mean?" He growled."Her disease was incurable and she knew it, you wanted to take her to the world's best doctors just a few hours ago but she knew she couldn't be saved," Sherlin said as her tear-filled eyes were fixed on him."She knew" She whispered as she held his collar. He looked into her eyes, "She left you, for you, she left you because she did not want to see the hope dying in your eyes every day," “She left you because she needed to save you, She needed to save you from yourself, because of the pains she was suffering with, you could not have seen her with that pain,” With that, she left him alone in the graveyard.Yash fell on his knees as he looked at the ash of her body; seeing your love die is painful but seeing the ash and left-out bones of your love? That takes your life. That makes you die a thousand times. And Yash was dying those deaths. He could feel the heat of the ash; it was still fresh. “I wish, I had the courage to pick up a little of this ash and stop you here for a lifetime but I do not wish you to suffer because of me even after leaving your body, I loved you, I love you and I will only love you, no one can change that, not even I, myself,” He said to the ash of her body before he wiped his tears. He sighed as he stood up, his legs did not feel like they could hold his weight but he managed somehow. “I am going to our daughter, she needs me,” He said again before he walked off. The sun was about to set; the caretakers of the cemetery were about to call Yash when they saw him coming out of the gates. “Sir,” The caretaker who was about to go inside to call him said his name. “My wife’s ash is inside, make sure nobody touches it,” Yash’s voice was low; anyone could recognize the exhaustion in his voice. The caretaker did not know what to do or say so he just nodded his head; he felt scared to look into Yash’s red eyes, he looked like a true incarnation of evil. Yash turned to look at the ash once again; a sad smile made its way to his lips. He took a deep breath as he started walking towards his car. His driver was waiting for him; probably Sherlin sent him. The driver had a mask on; “Why are you wearing a mask?” He asked; he was a billionaire and now he needed to be alive for his daughter the most, he could not risk his life like earlier. “I caught a cough and cold sir,” He said as he looked at Yash through the mirror. “Take it off for a second,” Yash said as his eyes bore into his. The driver nodded and pulled his mask down his face. Yash looked at his face for a good second before he nodded; the driver put his mask back and started to drive towards Kapoor's mansion.Author's P. O. V.The car stopped in front of Kapoor's mansion, Yash opened the door and was about to walk out when Yash remembered a memory of his past. The past he shared with shayra, the past he would never be able to live ever again.Yash held shayra's hand as the car stopped in front of the river." Come," shayra nodded as the driver opened the door for her." Thank you," she said to the driver, he was shocked but the old man smiled as soon as she smiled back at him.Yash was observing all this but he did not say a thing to her.Shayra walked over to his side as held his arm, the shine of the full moon fell on them as shayra looked at Yash."You want to ask something right?" She spoke, Yash looked at her but she was busy admiring the moon. Her eyes turned to his face as he nodded. "That driver is kinda khadoos, how did you make him smile?" He asked.Shayra was quiet for a moment before she said," We all fight battles every day, some are shown to the world and some are not even kn
Author’s P. O. V. “Shayra, close the window yaar, let me sleep, this is too early…” He said in his sleepy voice and turned to the other side. Sherlin who was outside his room heard his voice. She took a deep breath as she opened the door.“Shayra!” He groaned as the sun's rays did not stop; His head was aching so badly. Sherlin looked at his sleeping figure on the carpet. He still had not realized his wife was dead.Sherlin sat on her knees looking at his face; the sun rays falling on his face made him look angelic; his hair was a mess; Sherlin wanted to run her hand through his hair. She bites her lip as she lifted her hand but stopped in the middle. He is your brother-in-law Sherlin. But he is my husband now… argued her consciousness.Husband? Think again before saying that word, he married you because Shayra wanted him to, he married you because Shayra’s daughter needed a mother. You have no right to him. That shut her up; both her mind and her feeling; taking a deep breath she
Author’s P. O. V.Yash was performing the last rituals of Shayra his daughter was in Sherlin’s hands; “make everyone touch the flowers and flow them in the river,” the priest said as Yash nodded everyone did but Ahana started crying as soon as it was her turn to touch the flowers.“Ahana, baby, touch them, say bye to mamma,” Yash said as little aahana looked at him, her eyes filled with tears. She angrily threw the flowers into the basket and turned her head to her other side; she was too little to understand what was happening.Yash closed his eyes as he threw her leftover bones and last flowers into the Ganga. They all took dips in the water as per the rituals and after finishing the last rituals they proceed to give food to beggars, Yash gave food plates to all those who came to him with a sad smile on his face.“May god bless you with long life, “One of the elders among the beggars blessed him. “Maaie, give her all the blessings of a long and happy life, all those you want to gi
Author’s P. O. Adjusting her light blue saree with a silver border she walked towards Yash.“Yash you can’t be serious, aahana needs to know about her mother, you cannot hide these photos and everything,” Sherlin said as Yash handed her another photograph from the wall near the stairs.Sherlin caressed the photo with her fingers; it was from the day of Aahana’s naming ceremony; she was heavily pregnant but had held Aahana in her lap.“I always fulfilled her every wish; even when she asked me to marry you,” Sherlin could not look at him; that was the night
“I wish RIP meant‘Return if possible “Author’s P. O. V.Yash and Sherlin walked inside the mansion as everyone stood up; “Why are you half naked? And how did you drenched?” Yash’s mother asked as she walked towards them.“Sarika brings the towels,” She said to the house help as he walked towards them.Sarika came back with towels and his mother handed them to them; “Maa I actually—“ Yash did not know how to say to his mother that he went to attempt suicide“I slipped into the river,” Sherlin said even before Yash could explain anything to his mother.“What?” Her mother-in-law started to check her for any injuries but hers and Yash’s eyes were fixed on each other; he is not in the right mind to understand why she said that.He has a lot of questions which of course he will ask her once they are alone.“Yash helped me and gave me his shirt,” Sherlin said as Yash nodded along with her.“Are you okay?” Jai asked him as Yash nodded; he knows very well how broken he is right now.“Go and
Author’s P. O. V.Yash looked at the sack of clothing he needed to put in the boxes; he kept looking at Shayra’s picture once in a while and smiled at her.“You remember, you gifted me this shirt on our 9-month anniversary?” He looked at the peach-colored shirt and smiled.“You were heavily pregnant with Aahana and sometimes so grumpy because of the mood swings,” He said to her picture as he chuckled. He finished keeping all the clothes in transparent boxes and put them in the corner of his closet. “I am a widower and I shall live like one,” he said to himself before he put all the white clothes on hangers; everything now in his closet was white; not even a trace of color anywhere near his side of clothes. He did not separate Shayra’s clothes; he kept them the same, “It will feel like you are still here,” He said as he touched one of her dresses.Taking a quick shower, he wore his white clothes; even his belt was white.“Jaan, I need to have a word with Sherlin, I will be back,” He sa
“I can kill you in your own houseAnd make it seem like an accident”Author’s P. O. V.Yash walked downstairs as his mother stood up; “where are you going Yash?” she asked.“Office,” He said before he touched her feet to take her blessing. His mother kept her hand on his head as she looked at him with a worried look on his face.“maa…” He looked at her as she took a deep breath.“You should take a rest,” She said to him but he shook his head; work was the only thing that could keep his mind off things and save him from going into depression. If he was not already.“I have no more excuses to avoid work maa, I need to be there,” Yash said; he was skipping work for the last 3 months but now he does not have any other reason to avoid work.“How much will Jai handle alone? He needs my help,” Yash said as his mother nodded at him; he walked out of the mansion and sat in the car. There were a lot of media people were standing right outside of his mansion; he was not in the mood to bear with

He did not look to his left; he knows very well that Yash is the master of body language, and if anything, he will catch him within a second.“Nothing, just a man was found stealing from the factory, I was just talking to them,” he made it up quickly as Yash nodded.Jai was about to walk out of his office when Yash called his name from behind; “yeah?” He turned around still a little tense.“Cancel the usual acti
