Twenty-eight

Ethan woke up.

"Hey, you are already awake."

He rubbed his eyes and squinted it. "Troye?"

He roamed his eyes around looking for Chad, but he was nowhere to be found anymore.

"Are you looking for the neighbor?" said Troye as he sat down on the corner of the bed.

Ethan nodded. He remembered the conversation they had earlier. Was it just a dream?

"He's a good man. He looked after you when I went out to buy us food."

"When you arrived, I was asleep already?"

Troye tilted his head, "You never woke up before that. What do you mean? Did you woke up at that time?"

"No. Right."

Troye stood up and picked up the food with him. "Here, eat this."

"Porridge? Troye, I am not sick. I just got a cut."

"Just eat it. Also, you'll be discharged now because you only needed a stitch. I'll be processing it."

Ethan heard the door closed. "Was it a dream? Did I dream about Chad and all of his sweet talks?"
