"Are you sure?"
Naomi turned to look at Lisa with surprise visible on her face.
Lisa nodded.
Seeing her nod, Naomi was about to burst with excitement.
"But it would take a long time." Lisa added.
The excitement vanished and Naomi was like a deflated balloon as she stared at Lisa with disappointment. The latter just shrugged.
Naomi went to look at the bonfire and staring at the skewered grilled fish as she raised her hand, her hunger was once again agitated.
She carefully took a bits of the skewered grilled fish and as soon as she came into contact with the fish, there was only one word to describe it: DELICIOUS.
Not only the appearance of the grilled fish but the taste is just too hard to resist!
After swallowing the first bite, she went on to take another bite again and again as she eat the fish with delish.
Her previous disappointment was gone in an instant and was replaced with the t
Labyrinth Forest wasn't that far from the Kingdom of Arkin but neither was it also near as it took them five days to enter the area of the Kingdom of Arkin. The brother-sister pair continuously switched places. At the start of their trip, it was Lucas who was out in the sun, riding the horse, leading them towards the direction where the Kingdom of Arkin was. The next day, it was Lisa who was outside while Lucas would be inside the carriage, chatting together with Naomi. They weren't as silent as before when they are together and everytime one of them started a conversation, it would continue for a while. While chatting with each other, Naomi had realized that aside from Lisa, Lucas was also knowledgeable as well. They would journey in the day and find a place to temporarily settle themselves when it's going to be nighttime. The only time Lucas and Lisa settled while the sky was up high was when they were in the Labyrinth Forest.Naomi ha
Compared to the silent and devoid of people Labyrinth Forest, the Kingdom of Arkin was bustling with many kinds of activities and a lot of people were coming back and forth.Different stalls and stores could be seen in any place when you're in the Kingdom of Arkin. Even the corners of certain places which are usually deserted on other places have some stalls and shops and a lot of people are there to take a look as well.A carriage was passing in the main road and due to the vast number of people walking in the main road, the speed of the carriage was slow, almost like a turtle's speed. Some people even have to step sideways in order for the carriage to pass.Since there were a huge crowd of people in the main road, Naomi didn't peek outside and the curtain beside her had been pulled down. Who knows what will happen to her?"We're passing so slowly." Naomi grumbled.L
While Lucas was away, both of the girls went inside the inn.The receptionist was a girl who looked like she was younger than the nineteen-year-old Naomi and Lisa who was in her 20s. In fact, the girl looked like she was fourteen-years-old. She had just finished attending to one of the people inside the inn and when she saw the both of them enter the inn, she greeted them enthusiastically. "Hello! Welcome to the Central Inn. How may I help you?" The receptionist showed a bright smile.Since the inn was located beside the main road, the inn was called Central Inn. "I'll take the last two vacant rooms I've reserved just a while earlier." Lisa said, a faint smile hung on her lips as she conversed with the receptionist. She grabbed something from her pouch, which was hanging on her waist, and placed them in the reception table. It was 20 copper coins."Alright!"The receptionist accepted the copper coins and went to grab some keys in the shelf behind her
Both Naomi and Lisa were sitting inside a restaurant nearby the inn they were staying. Due to the large population Ashin has, it took them a while to wait before they finally found themselves a table which was beside the glass wall. Through it, they can see the scene outside the restaurant. The food they've ordered weren't too much and it was delivered to their table instantly. Seeing the appetizing appearance as well as smelling its aroma, Naomi hadn't hesitated to pick up her spoon and fork and dig in. She ate like a starved wolf on which resulted to the table manners she had learned in Florence since she was young to be nowhere to be found. It didn't took Naomi long to finish her food. Currently, she was leaning in her chair and was looking outside while her company, Lisa, was still eating. Compared to Naomi's table manners earlier, she ate in a calm and unhurried manner."Right, how long would it take you to help me go back in Florence?" Naomi le
Soon after, the old man came back with a bunch of herbs that were of different varieties."Here are all the herbs that you requested." The old man said as he carefully put the herbs in the reception desk and looked at Lisa with an amiable smile. Since Naomi was a stranger to the medicinal field, the herbs looked like grass to her.As for Lisa, it was a good thing that she was fond of reading books which included medicinal books that helped her discern the herbs she had bought that totally looked like a bunch of grasses in Naomi's eyes. Although Naomi was similar to Lisa's fondness over reading books, most of the books she have read were novels of different genres and since she was from a different world, there were a lot of things that were different from each other in the place she was currently in and with the place she came from. Let's take the apple she have picked from the Labyrinth Forest during the first day that she transmigrated into th
"Seriously, that's the fifth book already!"In a certain library, Naomi's complaining voice was so loud that it was hard for the people around not to notice her, especially since she was just basically near the tables. The librarian, who was in the library's reception, glared at her sternly. Naomi noticed the librarian's stern gaze as well as the other people's gaze at her. She looked at the librarian and made a gesture of zipping her mouth. As for the other people present, she looked at them as she nodded and smiled awkwardly and quickly turned away. She turned to look at Lisa, who was checking out books ahead of her, and went near her. "Hey. Aren't I just going to learn cultivation? Why is there a need for you to pick so many books?" Naomi complained as she offered to show the books she was carrying that was stacked on one another.'If it were novels, I wouldn't complain but these books... argh!' Naomi grumbled inwardly.
The kingdom of Arkin was located in the north and opposite its direction was the forest no common people dared to enter—Labyrinth Forest. The kingdom of Arkin was founded 500 years ago by the first emperor, Emperor Yuan. It was said that the capital of Arkin was originally a village and the people who lived at that village were all normal people who can't cultivate but something unfortunate happened that a lot of people living in that village as well as a lot of constructions were wiped out and destroyed. In the end, only a few remained. Emperor Yuan was the son of the village's chief and seeing the village his father and his fellow villagers have formed get destroyed and remembering those lives that were lost in that unfortunate event, he was naturally not willing to let everything pass. Thus, together with the remaining villagers, they planned to re-establish their village and due to Emperor Yuan being the son of the villag
After a few hours, the person sitting on the bed slowly opened her eyes. She felt relaxed and at the same time, slightly uncomfortable.Naomi frowned as she went to check herself. When she was finished, she found out that there was no problem with her."What's up with you?" A voice sounded steps away from her.Naomi looked at the direction of the voice and found Lisa sitting in the same chair she had sat on earlier and was sipping tea."I think there's something wrong with my body." This time, it was Lisa's turn to frown.'Could it be a mild backlash from cultivating?' This thought passed by in Lisa's mind but she shrugged it off. 'Doesn't seem like it.' "How do you feel?" Lisa asked.Naomi looked at her in the eyes, "I feel relaxed but there is something within me that makes me feel uncomfortable." She sounded slightly worried which made Lisa fell into a trance.
