Leila's POV

I didn’t expect waking up in this pack would feel like walking on glass every single day.

People didn’t talk to me much. They didn’t look me in the eyes. The only ones who ever made me feel like I wasn’t invisible were Henry and Elijah. Liam? He still looked at me like I was some kind of mistake.

And that hurt. It shouldn’t anymore. I cut the mate bond. I did what I had to do. But sometimes… when I caught him watching me, when his jaw clenched or he looked away fast—I couldn’t help but wonder what he was feeling. If he was feeling anything at all.

I didn’t know what to do with myself anymore. Until Henry found me sitting by the windowsill one afternoon, just watching the warriors train outside.

“You’ve been sitting here for hours,” he said gently.

I turned my head, forcing a smile. “It’s peaceful here.”

“It’s lonely here.”

I didn’t answer.

Henry sat beside me, resting his long legs out and glancing out the window with me. His presence was calming. He wasn’t like Liam—cold

Elijah’s POV The corridors of the packhouse had never felt so quiet, nor so heavy with foreboding. I moved through the hallways at dusk, lantern in hand, weaving between carved pillars and tapestries that seemed to watch me as I passed. My skin prickled with unease, Leila was up to something, I was sure of it. It began with little signs. A door hinge that cracked when I knew it had been oiled. A drawer in her room that refused to stay closed, a faint scrape at the latch as if someone had forced it open. I found footprints by her window sill, bare and small leading toward the east wing where the patrols seldom ventured. My heart clenched. She was planning to leave. I hurried to my father’s chambers. Alpha Orion looked up from the maps he studied, his silver hair catching the lantern light. “Father,” I said, voice urgent. “I need more guards at the eastern gate. Patrol the corridors. Watch Leila’s wing closely.” Orion’s brow furrowed. “You think she might try to escape?” I hesita

  • Three Alphas, One Luna   CHAPTER 38

Henry’s POV The dawn light was pale and cold as I slipped through the quiet halls, carrying a water basin and clean linens. My heart felt heavier than the weight of the world. Last night had been the worst, Leila’s nightmares had echoed through the corridors, cries that stabbed my ears. I had found her pacing her room at the edge of the sky-lit garden, hands clawing at her hair, tears staining her cheeks. This morning, I found her asleep in a low chair by the window, a thin blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Her hair spilled across the floor like ink in water. The moonlight had given way to dawn, and her pale face was pinched with exhaustion.I knelt beside her and gently lifted her hand, brushing my thumb across her palm. The cut on her forearm from Liam’s failed attempt to protect her had scabbed over, but the bruise beneath it was still dark.“Leila,” I whispered, dipping a cloth in water. “I need to wash this. It hurts.”Her eyes fluttered open, the irises clouded with sleep o

Liam's PovI could feel my own pulse hammering in the corridor outside her door. Every step I took echoed on the smooth stone floors, grinding against the silence like a blade. I’d circled this hallway half a dozen times already today, each footfall a promise and a threat. Guilt and rage warred inside me until my chest felt too tight to breathe.I stopped and pressed my forehead to the door, hand splayed over the wood. Behind this door was Leila, my Leila, yet somehow not the same woman who had laughed with me in the sun, who had rested her head on my shoulder, who had whispered my name like a prayer.I slammed my fist against the door. “Leila!” My voice came out raw, cracking. “Please just talk to me!”No answer. Only the muted echo of my own desperation.I pressed my shoulder into the wood and sank to my knees. Memories flooded me: her bright laugh as we chased each other through the training yard; the way her eyes sparkled when she teased me. That Leila had been soft, gentle, fierc

Sebastian’s POVI watched from the darkness, leaning against the cold stonewall of the hidden corridor, as the three brothers carried Leila away. Their steps were hurried, breath ragged, eyes full of relief. The torches from their camp burned bright in the distance, and I could hear the faint echo of their triumphant shouts. But I did not rise. I did not give chase.A slow smile spread across my face, calm and satisfied. They had thought they rescued her. They had thought they could defy me. Foolish boys. She was with them now, but her mind was no longer her own. I had anticipated their every move, manipulated their every step. The silk that bound her, the ritual that severed her soul’s bonds, those were the true victories. Her body might be free, but her mind... that was still mine to shape.I slipped forward, gliding along the stone walls as if I were part of the darkness itself. The runes they had shattered lay cold and inert beneath my feet. The chamber seemed to sigh in relief, a

Henry’s POVThe moment the last guard fell beneath Elijah’s silent blade and Liam’s silver-edged dagger, the chamber fell into an unnatural hush. I pressed a hand to my chest, lungs heaving, as I took in the scene, the bodies of Sebastian’s minions strewn across the stone floor, torches guttering in the sudden lack of movement. My brothers gathered at the edge of the rune circle, their faces pale under the torchlight.Leila lay at the center, bound to the pillar by silk and runes that glowed a sickly green. My heart clenched at the sight of her pale skin and limp form. Without hesitation, I strode forward, every instinct screaming to free her.“Elijah, the runes!” I called, voice tight. He knelt beside the pillar, pulling out a small pouch of dusty gray powder, the Moonwood ash the Seer had given us.I drew my sword and crouched, running the flat of the blade along the edge of the glowing circle. The runes shimmered where they met steel. “Flora,” I said, turning to the trembling woman
