Chapter 64 Remains
The whole night, we traveled on Fifi’s back and trusted her that she would take us to the whereabouts of Helighor. Byron and I have been asleep for the whole night as we were trying to recover the stamina that we exhausted in the previous battle.
When we woke up at dawn, we noticed that Fifi increased her speed because she was chasing and eating a shark that happened to appear within her vicinity. I would have gone back to sleep after that, but after hearing the death cry of the unfortunate shark and the chewing noises that Fifi made, it was difficult to do so. We were riding on top of Fifi’s back when we met up with the others. I thought that we would be meeting a ship, but it turns out that it was just a huge crate of gear supplies. A sudden wave of turbulence burst in our way the moment we crossed the barrier that Helighor warned us about. Byron fought off most of the wave that was headed our way using his magic. But it was pitch black in these parts of the water that Byron couldn’t fight off every wave that threatened to wash us away. Riding on Nalu’s back while he runs on the water’s surface was way worse than when he’s running underwater. There was no buoyancy force that fights and cancels his speed, and let me tell you, Nalu is called a water horse for a reason.
