Trapped

Victor is trying to escape from the hospital before anyone could find out that he is gone. He easily reached the ground floor undetected. But he had this nagging feeling that something is wrong. Everything is too easy. He easily came this far without being stopped by anyone. What made him suspicious is that the corridors, stairs cases, and elevators are all empty. It is the middle of the night, but he should have stumbled upon someone in this huge multistorey hospital.

When he reached the ground floor and began searching for the fire exit to escape, he found something black and familiar lying on the floor.

"A gun? Here? Did someone lose it?" he wondered with a frown. Nonetheless, he picked up the gun and checked if it is loaded or not.

"Am I truly lucky or is this something I should worry about?" he murmured to himself. But he needs this gun to protect himself. So he hid that gun under his hospital gown.
