Obligation

Sylvia is annoyed. Her one-year-old son Samuel is constantly demanding her attention. She wanted to spend her time seducing Kairo, but this little devil was coming in her way.

"Amber, take him away from here" she snapped at Samuel's nanny, who was in her early twenties.

Amber immediately carried the crying baby away from Sylvia. She accidentally became pregnant with Samuel. She doesn't know who the father is. But she lied to Kairo claiming that Samuel is John's son. She cannot lie to the Italian boss saying that the baby is his son because Kairo never touched her. So she used John's name instead. She made Kairo feel guilty and forced him to take responsibility for her and the baby because he killed John. Kairo agreed to pay Samuel's expenses. When she acted pitifully claiming that she could not take care of the baby alone and begged him to let her stay in his house, he agreed, reluctantly. Since then, she has been trying her best to seduce him. But that man is obsessed with his wife Rose.

She noticed Kairo going out of the house. So she rushed to find out where he was going.

"Kairo" she called him from behind, forcing him to pause in his tracks. But he didn't turn to face her.

"What do you want?" he asked coldly.

Sylvia flinched at his tone. Despite her several attempts to get closer to him, he successfully kept her at arm's length.

"Ahh.." she hesitated. She gulped down with fear.

"I don't have all day Sylvia. What do you want?" he snapped again. His voice made chills run down her spine.

She took a step back with fear.

"I just wanted to ask where you were going" she explained hurriedly.

She noticed how his shoulders became stiff with suppressed anger. Slowly he whirled around to face her. His eyes look like they are two pools of dark abyss, threatening to kill her.

"And why do you think that I should share my business with you? I told you many times before, stay the hell out of my life. I think it's time for you to move out of my house. Amber will accompany you and she will take care of Samuel. I want you gone before I come back" he commanded with finality before walking away.

Sylvia is shocked.

'What the hell did Rose have that I lack? He is obsessed with that bitch even though she left him ' she thought with anger. She pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

"Hello," the other person answered sleepily.

"I am irritated here, and you are peacefully sleeping there?" she snapped at Miller.

Miller groaned with irritation.

"What do you want Sylvia?" he snapped right back at her.

Sylvia gritted her teeth.

"What happened there? I told you to propose to Rose in front of everyone. Did you propose?" she inquired.

When faced with that question, Miller became upset. He sat up on his bed with an angry frown.

"She didn't. Despite pushing her into a corner, she simply ran away. That bitch still loves Kairo Bianchi. It would be easier to have my way with her than playing these stupid games" he muttered with annoyance.

Sylvia sneered.

"Try touching her against her will. Kairo will send you to the place where he sent your cousin. He still has his men looking after her. He is under the impression that you are her boyfriend. That's why he is keeping quiet. You can touch her only after you marry her. Behind the closed doors, no one would know what you do to her. My stupid games are keeping you alive and close to her. Don't forget that" she reminded him.

Miller punched his mattress with anger.

"Marriage? I don't know if she would ever agree to marry me. She is like an ice sculpture. She doesn't respond to flattery or even flirting. The only thing that is always running through her head is either work or Bianchi. I tried everything I could. But she is not falling for me" he complained angrily.

Sylvia's frown became deep.

'As long as Miller marries Rose, Kairo will not move on from that bit*h. Then I can pursue him to marry me for Samuel. But first, I have to push Rose out of the way ' she thought with determination.

"Miller, push her into a corner where she couldn't move anywhere else but towards you. Create troubles for her at work and pretend that you are the only one who can rescue her, but only if she agrees to marry you. Start targeting her from tomorrow" Sylvia shared her plan.

Miller smirked. He is hopeful that his plan might work in his favor, because the only thing that Rose values after Kairo is her work. She loves what she does. If he threatened to snatch that away, she had to relent.

"Alright, I will do that" he agreed and disconnected the call.

The next morning, Rose woke up feeling tired. She couldn't sleep the previous night because of what Miller did. He texted her saying that he was sorry, but for some reason, she couldn't bring herself to reply to his text. She trusted him and always treated him like a friend and her boss. She never thought that he might be harboring feelings for her. She can see that it is not possible to continue working for him anymore. So far she loved her work in Q SOL. But things will get awkward if she continues to work there, especially now that she knows that Miller has feelings for her.

'I will submit my resignation today. I saved some money in this one year. It should be enough until I could find another job ' she decided.
