At the sight of Draco, the witches disappear into thin air, the same way Carla had done in the restroom the other day.Draco lets out a growl and quickly rushes over to Raven.“Are you okay?”His words are muffled to her ears, sounding as though she is underwater, but she is only losing her consciousness.Draco jumps into action as her eyes roll to the back of her head and her body goes slack. He quickly tugs her into his arms and gets them out of the building and when Raven comes to, she can feel the rumble of the car beneath her as they drive on the asphalt. She is at the back seat of the car, she registers but the car is not the only thing she hears though, even louder is Draco's voice from the driver's seat, with an agitated tone.“That is out of line, Carla, what you did is unacceptable!” Anger seeps through every word in capital letters. She cannot hear Carla's side of the conversation, but Draco is loud enough with his replies for her to understand what is going on.He’s berati
The hairs on Raven’s arms stand at the sight of the three women and she shivers in fear, recalling her experience with Carla in the restroom. She knows exactly what damage witches are capable of causing.Something is very, very wrong. She quickly takes a step back to retreat, but as soon as she walks towards the door, it shuts harshly in her face, keeping her locked in.The women laugh cruelly behind her, their laughter echoing through the walls and vibrating with a chilling ambience.“There is no way you can escape, not unless we say you can,” the woman in the middle says, as she swivels around to face them.“Can she?” She turns to the two other women beside her with a mocking tone. The women only laugh in response as if there is a joke that Raven is out of.“What is this?” Raven is more bothered about getting out of here than whatever they seem to find amusing.Although she already has an idea, she hopes that she is wrong about this. The woman tuts, giving her a false pitiful look.
Raven’s mind is beyond burgled about the professor's words on her way back home in the car, going over what he said and she can't seem to shake it off no matter how hard she tries to.She looks out the window but she's not really seeing anything, just thinking and thinking about who this guardian angel could be that made the professor quit because of her and what he meant by saying the person is a worse bad guy than him.Could he just be trying to mess with her head like he always does, trying to get the last word and leave her messed up and upset, or is he actually telling the truth this time? The way he said it though, it didn't seem like he was playing games. If he's telling the truth, then who could it be? Who has that kind of power to make someone quit their job?Could it be Royce? It might be him, she thinks, turning the idea over in her head. She has told him everything about her and the professor, every single thing about how the man has made her life hell, how he's stolen her
Raven is distracted throughout her classes and she does not even remember until the lecturer is leaving the hall for her last class. The sounds of laptops shutting and chairs scraping are what bring her back to focus. She glances around the hall to discover that the lecture has already ended. She shakes her head and packs up her things before following the throng of students, although most of them are already long gone.Taking her time, she calmly walks through the hallways and towards the exit, until she sees the professor walking straight in her direction. He has not seen her yet, but he will any second now, and there is no way she can avoid him.The halls have been cleared of students and she is the only one left. She glances behind her, considering going the other way for a second, but that would not be very wise because it is the opposite direction to the exit.So she pushes her shoulders back and continues moving, noticing the moment the professor realizes that he was walking to
As soon as they step out of the building, Draco snatches his grip away from Carla and walks ahead of her.She lets out a huff behind him.“Wait, where are you going?” The annoyance is clear in her tone as she stomps after him.Draco pauses to face her.“Just go in your car and I will go in mine, we don't have to leave together and frankly I don't want to be in the same car with you right now,” he decides with a frown.Carla looks like she had taken a punch to the heart.“What is this about? Is it because of that bitch? You know what I can do to her,” she threatens. But Draco stands his ground.“I know perfectly well what you're capable of, and you already showed it off. What you did at the party was out of line,” his anger is silent and he doesn't raise his voice.“We had an agreement Carla, and I had everything under control. So threatening Raven like that was out of line,” he says in disapproval.Carla lets out a chuckle, “Oh that, it was just a harmless joke.”“Harmless or not, you
After leaving the party, like Royce had said, the driver was already waiting for her at the entrance. She gets into the car with a frown still marked on her face.“Take me to my apartment,” she instructs the driver hoping that he would do as she says otherwise she will get right back out of the car.Thankfully, he responds with a polite nod.“Yes, ma'am.”She hums to herself sitting back and looking out the window.Although she is not able to relax until she finally arrives at her apartment and is within its walls.Going back to Royce’s place was a big no, especially after everything she had just found out tonight.Even if Draco turns out to be lying and none of the things he said are true, she still cannot bear to see him right now, talk less of sleep in his house. To think that she had been warming up to him, and beginning to let herself accept him as her mate. And those stupid butterflies that had started to flutter in her tummy, where are they now?It barely took a second for ever
