LOGINHe called me his princess and he promised me a ring, our life together was going to be Epic but when I turned 18 and my wolf cried “Mate”, He rejected me and claimed another girl in front of my eyes before he disappeared from my life, until……one night he caught me in that nightclub, I couldn’t believe it was him but I was sure it was him but then he pinned me to the wall and whispered through gritted teeth. “I don’t know you, and certainly do not love you. You have got the wrong man. But I don’t mind having you for tonight’s appetite.”

Raven smiles at her mom’s text. [Thanks Mom! Have my flowers arrived?] she replies, staring at the half heart tattoo on the back of her hand. The other half is in Draco’s hand, so whenever they hold hands, it makes a full heart. Draco Aslan is her mate, and the most perfect man in this world. In this life full of darkness and sorrow, he is her light and joy, everything and the only thing that makes her happy. They’ve known each other since they were six, even back then she knew she would be his Luna, not because she understood what “Alpha heir” meant, but because she knew he was THE prince of her life. “Don’t even think about it.” The sound of Claire’s voice brings her attention back to the laboratory. Claire is one of her course mates. Class ended a while ago but Claire and her clique like to hang back and gossip. They have tea about everyone on campus and this is where they heartily share it. They don’t mind that she hears, because to them, she doesn't even exist. “What? I just want to say hi to her,” a boy whose name she does not know says and the ladies chuckle. “To that pretty face? Yeah…If you’re not Professor McCall, a test tube or a conical flask, the lab worm speaks to no one.” One of them says in a sarcastic tone. “Listen,” Claire’s voice goes octaves lower, the way it normally does when they gossip about people. “I heard she has a mental illness and if she stops studying and has fun even for a few minutes, she’ll run mad.” “Then they should have sent her to an asylum, not a college. Maybe she’d actually talk to her fellow mad people,” another of the ladies replies and they all laugh. Raven wipes the corner of her eyes, just realising their harsh and false words are making her eyes watery. Mean girls are everywhere but she never learned how to deal with them. Usually, when this sort of thing happens, she would run out to cry in the bathroom and when Draco finds out, they would pay dearly. She pretends not to hear them, packs her things, and bites her lips when she passes them without making eye contact. Her ears are burning, but they are the ones who should feel ashamed! The moment she makes it out of the lab, tears burst out. Draco cared for her so well that she didn't have to learn all these...until college. She doesn’t live in the lab, although she usually stays till midnight, but not today, it’s her birthday. It’s her only day off in the year, the one day she can’t be here all day. She checks her phone again. Her mom hasn’t replied yet so she texts her. [Send a picture of the flower when it arrives, thanks!] On the twilight of her birthdays, roses from Draco arrive. It’s been like that ever since she understood what “romantic” was. This is the night she wants to be nowhere else, but just to enjoy it at home. This is her night. She needs to get a certain red wine. It’s Draco’s favorite. Tonight won’t be the same without it. She remembers the first time they tasted this wine. It was the night of her 17th birthday. She wasn't allowed to drink until she was 18, but he was already 18 a few months ago, and he bragged about how he could buy alcohol now. She begged him to let her have a taste, and he taunted her till she was almost in tears. In the end, he gave up his "manly" whiskey and got a wine, this particular wine, so she could join, and she got drunk. The next morning, Draco’s dad gave him a hell of a beating for getting her drunk and typical Draco got them another bottle to console himself that same night. She parks her car in her apartment’s car park, texting her mom again. It’s already dark out, her flowers should have arrived by now. She’s beginning to get worried. [Not yet honey, maybe he didn’t order them this year?] She snatches the bag containing the wine and a few other items from the passenger seat and makes her way to her room. Her steak slips out of the bag but she doesn’t even stop to pick it up, rushing upstairs, her heart racing and her eyes becoming wet. Draco always gets her flowers, there’s no way he wouldn’t have sent them. She doesn’t even want to think that she’s not getting them this year. She rummages through her stuff for a card from last year, and texts them her order number. [Your package has been delivered.] They text back in a few minutes. She feels a little better. Her light and joy cannot forget what today is. She knew he wouldn’t. She mindlinks her mom this time around, maybe someone else got the package at the house and not her. “The package has been delivered mom. Are you sure no one got it?” From her vision, she can see her mom looking at her dad and her mom is chewing her lower lip, something she only does when she’s done something she believes is wrong. “What happened to my flowers, mom?” Raven asks sternly, feeling a tinge of annoyance in her heart. “Your father….he— look honey—” “What did dad do?” Raven cuts her off sharply, her breath rising and falling. “He trashed them,” her mom replies, dropping the link. “How could you?!” She mindlinks her dad immediately, yelling at him. He knows how important those flowers are to her, how much she looks forward to getting them every year. “Why don’t you come home and do something about it?” He replies harshly, “no one has seen you in years, you choose to stay in that college miles away from us, from home, from everyone.” “That has nothing to do with my flowers, you have no right to throw my stuff away.” Draco’s flowers are the highlight of her day and he just ruined it. Why? Why would he do this? “You need to forget about him, Raven.” “He’s my fated mate,” she growls, feeling so much anger at her dad. “He’s your fated mate. Yes, but he’s also fucking dead. Wake up!” He yells back. His words hit her like a rocket and tears start to pour down her eyes. She grabs the bag of wine and throws it far across the room, yelling in rage before she breaks down in tears. Two months later, Raven is back in her makeshift lab, this time set up in the basement of a safe house that Draco's pack helped them secure outside the city where they can work without being watched. Her work has taken on a completely different focus now that she has a working cure for fever addiction, but she still needs to get it approved by government agencies and attract serious investors for mass distribution across the entire country. She's spent countless weeks preparing documentation and test results and clinical trial proposals, trying to navigate the incredibly complicated procedures that stand between her cure and the thousands of people who desperately need it to survive. The basement is cluttered with filing cabinets full of research data and boxes of sample solutions that she keeps under strict security. "Any progress today?" Draco asks as he comes down the stairs, carefully carrying two cups of coffee. "I think I'm finally getting somewhere with the approval proces
The funeral is small and quiet, with just Draco and his pack standing around a fresh grave on a gray morning that matches the heavy mood perfectly.Draco holds a single white flower in his hands and stares down at the simple headstone, his face filled with grief and regret that seems to weigh down his entire body like he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. The silence stretches on for long minutes as the pack members shift uncomfortably around him, none of them sure what to say or how to comfort their leader.Rain starts to fall lightly making everything look even more gray and depressing, but none of them move to find shelter."She saved my life once," Draco finally says quietly and his voice carries across the empty cemetery like a confession."When everyone else thought I was dead, she gave me a second chance to live when no one else would have bothered trying."Mighty nods beside him, his own eyes heavy with understanding. "She did, boss, and we won't forget that
Draco kneels beside Raven's unconscious form, applying pressure to the bullet wound in her shoulder while his hands shake with fear because he can't lose her now, not after everything."Stay with me, Raven, don’t you dare leave me now after everything we’ve been through together," he whispers as her blood seeps between his fingers despite his efforts to stop the bleeding that just keeps coming. Mighty and the other pack members are searching the entire room for Royce, who managed to escape during the chaos when Draco was focused on trying to save Raven's life instead of catching the bastard."Boss, we need to get her to a hospital right now," Mighty says urgently, and his voice is full of panic because they all care about Raven."She’s losing way too much blood, and we don’t have the medical supplies here to treat this kind of wound properly.""I know, I know," Draco says, but he can't seem to make himself let go of her, even though he knows Mighty is right about needing professional
"I heard that you have been refusing to eat," Royce says with a disappointed frown as he steps into the room carrying a tray of food. Raven ignores his presence completely, looking off to the side at the little hole in the wall that serves as her only connection to the outside world. It would be considered a window if it weren't barricaded so that she couldn't even see anything out of it if she tried, just a tiny sliver of light that reminds her there's still a world beyond this nightmare. "Is that how it's going to be?" He lets out a scoff at her stubborn silence and sets the tray down on the floor with a loud clatter that makes her flinch even though she doesn't want to give him the satisfaction. "You can act stubborn for as long as you want, but eventually you will have to give in or—" "I will never give in to you; I know that Draco will come for me!" She cuts him off sharply, finally having had enough of all his manipulation and threats about what he could do to her. "
Draco opens his eyes and immediately regrets it because the pain in his head is so intense it makes him want to vomit all over the concrete floor and never get up again. He's lying where he fell at the factory and there's dried blood caked in his hair from where Royce's men hit him with the gun, and his whole skull feels like it's been cracked open with a sledgehammer. For a moment he can't remember what happened or why he's on the ground covered in blood, but then it all comes flooding back and he sits up so fast the whole world spins around him making him dizzy. "Raven," he says out loud and his voice echoes in the empty factory space. "Boss, you're awake!" Mighty says rushing over to help him stand up. "We thought you might have a serious concussion or brain damage or something worse." "Where is she? Where the fuck is Raven?" Draco asks even though he already knows the answer from the guilty look on Mighty’s face and the way his shoulders slump with defeat. "Royce too
Raven's head throbs like someone hit a hammer to her skull as her consciousness slowly creeps back in, and the first thing she notices is that her hands are tied behind her back with a rope that's cutting into her wrists and making them bleed. She's sitting in what looks like some kind of warehouse or storage facility with concrete walls and dim lighting that makes everything look gray and depressing and scary. The air smells musty and stale like no one's been here in months and months and it makes her want to gag. "You're finally awake." Royce's voice makes her jump and she turns to see him sitting across from her in a metal chair looking perfectly calm like this is just another business meeting or something and it makes her stomach turn because how can he be so normal about kidnapping someone. "I was starting to worry that my men hit you too hard at the factory; I told them to be careful with you, but sometimes they don't listen to simple instructions." Raven tries to speak bu
