[Remi's POV]

“Remi Woods, please come to the principal's office now.”

Principal Garcia's voice echoes around us, causing all my classmates' eyes to rest on me.

Sighing, I get up from my seat and begin to move.

“Maybe they're finally arresting her.”

“Look how calm she is, psychopath.”

“Hopefully they're kicking her out of school, and we won't have to see her face ever again.”

My classmates' voices drift around me, clearly trying to hurt me, but I'm so used to their insults that, to this point, they don't phase me.

“Wouldn't that be great?” I giggle, shooting them a look. “Because you're running out of material and just sounding redundant by this point.”

Giving a wave, I make my way out of the classroom and down the hall until I reach Principal Garcia's office, but as I look inside and spot the bastard from this morning sitting in front of his desk, I stop.

“What the fuck?” I hiss, immediately recognizing the asshole who almost hit me earlier on. “What is he doing?”

“Miss Woods!” Principal Garcia calls, not missing me. “Get in here, now!”

Nodding, I tear my gaze away and head inside.

“You wanted to see me, sir?” I say, taking a seat beside the potential murderer.

“Don't play innocent Remi,” Principal Garcia sighs. “I knew that you had a bit of a temper, but to go as far as kicking the car of a potential investor is just..."

Potential investor? No fucking way. What were the damn chances? I offended someone who was going to invest in the school I hated so much.

“About that,” I begin, snapping my gaze at the asshole who is watching me in amusement. “Your investor almost hit me with his fancy sports car. I was just…”

“Miss Woods,” Principal Garcia snaps. “Don't make up stories.”

“I'm not!” I huff. “Why don't you tell him, Mr. Investor?"

Growing quiet, I wait as the man examines me, and when his smile begins to grow wider, I know he isn't going to help.

“I was just minding my own business, and this crazy girl attacked my car.”

“You…” I growl, clutching the arms of my seat to keep from beating the shit out of him. “Principal Garcia, I really…”

“Remi,” Principal Garcia warns, stopping me dead in my tracks. “You've always caused problems here. Dont you think it is about time you grew up?”

“Fine,” I huff, collapsing in my seat while feeling like I've been slapped. “What's my punishment?”

There was no point in arguing because this blind bastard wasn't going to fess up, and as an investor, Principal Garcia was going to go with whatever he said. It would be easier to just suffer and be done with it.

“After school detention.”

“No!” I hiss, sitting up. “I can't! Not today! Please, there has to be something else!”

I had my entrance exam after school that I had waited months to get into. I couldn't have detention; it would ruin everything!

“Any other day,” I continue, leaning forward. “Just not today.”

“Miss Woods, this isn't up for debate,” Principal Garcia sighs. “You will…”

“I have my entrance exam today!” I wail. “If I miss it, my chances of going to my dream school are ruined.”

“You should have thought of that before choosing violence,” the bastard chuckles. “Principal Garcia, are you going to let a student make decisions for you?”

“Shut up,” I growl, snapping my gaze to the bastard. “Just shut the…”

“Miss Woods!”

Fuck. Slowly, I turn to face Principal Garcia, whose gaze is cold and decisive.

“You will serve detention for the rest of the week, starting today.”

“But…”

“No, buts,” he snaps. “This discussion is over. Go back to class.”

For a moment, I don't move as what just happened begins to sink in. Dammit. Was this some type of sick joke on fate's part? Everything has been fucked since I was born, and now that I have the chance to fix it, one asshole swoops in and ruins it.

“Now!” Principal Woods huffs.

“Okay,” I whisper, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes. “Is there really no way I can convince you otherwise?”

“Go.”

“I got it.”

Slowly, I get up from my seat while the bastard beside me watches in triumph. I want to punch him in his smug face, and I strongly consider it since I was already in trouble. What would one more thing added to my wrongdoings change? However, I just tear my gaze away and storm out of the office while I beat his brains in in my mind.

For the rest of the day, I move around like a zombie as the reality that I won't be able to go to the school I dreamed of sinks in more and more. How could this have possibly happened? It was all because of that asshole with the fancy sports car! If I ever had the misfortune of meeting him again, I would most certainly release all my rage on him.

By the time I get home, all I want to do is curl up in a ball in bed, but luck isn’t on my side. The minute I step in the door, my parents are there with expectant looks on their faces.

“How did it go?” My mother asks as I hang my keys up. “You passed, correct?”

“Of course she did,” my dad chuckles. “She is our daughter.”

Fuck, this was annoying. Here they were trying to act like the perfect parents, but the fact they were doing this left me on alert. What the hell was going on?

“I…” I begin until I hear a chuckle from the top of the stairs.

Frowning, I let my gaze travel up until it comes to rest on the one who laughed, and when our eyes lock, I feel my rage spike before it is replaced by confusion.

“Why?” I hiss as my parents turn their attention to where my line of sight sits.

“Did you find your room okay, Kane?” My mother asks, causing shock to rush through me. “If so, please come down so we can introduce you to our daughter!”

“Mom,” I hiss through gritted teeth. “What's going on?”

“We're going to have a house guest for a while,” my father responds. “Kane is my partner's son, and starting tomorrow he will be interning at the company.”

“Guest… Intern…” I repeat the words as if they're foreign. “You've got to be fucking kidding me!”

[Kane's POV]

“You've got to be fucking kidding me!”

The juvenile delinquent's voice echoes around us, causing both Frank and Trinity's eyes to widen before their expressions shift from excited to sshockedand finally settle on angry.

Smirking, I keep my gaze locked with the delinquents as my amusement flares. What a small world this was, where I would not only run into this little bitch at Monson High but even at my father's partner's home. And what was better was that she was the daughter of said partner, which meant that I had the perfect leverage for revenge.

“Remi,” Trinity hisses, “what has gotten into you? That isn't how we act in front of guests!”

“But, mom,” the delinquent squeaks. “He…”

“Don't be rude, Remi,” Frank warns. “I know that I've taught you better than that.”

“Dammit.”

Biting back on any further arguments, the delinquent shoots me a glare that screams how much she wants to beat my ass, and I can’t help but smile even more. It seemed that I found something interesting about coming to this city where only work awaited me.

“It’s fine,” I call, beginning to move. “It isn’t like your daughter's opinion means much to me anyway.”

As I speak, I keep my gaze fixed on the delinquents as she surely contemplates attacking me, but like the good-obedient daughter she is, she doesn’t move. Instead, she tries to compose herself, and when she finally does, she forces a smile.

“Sorry,” she says slowly, hiking her schoolbag over her shoulder. “I’ve just had a rough day, if you’ll excuse me.”

She doesn’t wait for a response before she is pushing past her parents and then me, but when she reaches, she grabs my shirt with a gloved hand.

“Don’t think this is over,” she hisses. “If there is one thing I believe in, it is revenge, so watch your back.”

  • Till Death Do Us Part   Such A Pain

[Kane’s POV]“Son of a bitch.” I growl, realizing that I’ve found myself in an extremely troublesome situation. “What is this horrible timing?”Letting out a grumble of annoyance, I look toward the ones who are watching us and find that it is Trinity and a woman I can only assume is the bastard’s mother. Both women watch us carefully, and from the look on their faces, I know that they aren’t too happy with what they’re seeing.“Mom,” the bastard calls while I straighten the little delinquent and myself out and then release her. “Do you see what is happening?”“That,” the woman begins, looking from me to the little delinquent and back. “Could someone explain what is happening?”Fuck. I think, knowing what they’re seeing and understanding what they’re thinking. I need to fix things before they get too complicated, but it was such a fucking pain to use my abilities. It always left me with a headache and with a need to feed. However, if it meant that I could get myself out of this situati

  • Till Death Do Us Part   Her Visions

[Kane’s POV]I stare at the bastard in front of me, wondering what exactly he planned on doing with what was mine. Of course, I had no intention of claiming her as my own, but the thought of another man touching her infuriated me.When I came out here for some fresh air, I didn't intend to run into such a scene. Hell, I didn't even intend to interrupt it, but somehow before I could even stop my fucking feet, I was moving, and now here I stood with some cocky motherfucker glaring at me while the little delinquent pressed against my body.I wonder if she knew how dangerous the way she positioned herself was, with her chest pressing against my side and her warm core pressing against my thigh. It was tempting me in ways I didn't even know were possible, but right now, I couldn't focus on that. Instead, I needed to deal with the fucker in front of me.“Stop fucking around.” The one touching what was mine says. “If you come here this instant, I’ll forget this ever happened.”His gaze that r

  • Till Death Do Us Part   Saved

[Remi’s POV]A shiver rushes through me while the urge to kick the bastard in front of me in the balls starts to grow.Belong to him.Who the fuck did this guy think he was? Did he really think that I was some stupid bimbo that would fall for his boy-next-door looks? If he did, he was sadly mistaken.“Listen,” I sigh, my annoyance getting the best of me. “I think there’s something that you don’t quite get here. I’m not a thing to be possessed, and I would never fall for a bastard like you.”At my words, Kevin’s eyes grow wide as he stares at me in disbelief. It’s almost laughable just how shocked the guy looks. Damn, was he really that fucking full of himself?“You don’t need to fall for me.” He says, getting his wits about him. “That doesn’t matter.”“What?” I hiss.“Don’t you know what it is that our parents are discussing right now?” He pushes, taking a few steps toward me while I move backward. “Don’t tell me that you’re that naive to believe that people like us can choose who we

  • Till Death Do Us Part   Belong To Him

[Remi’s POV]I watch Kane’s retreating form as he heads out of my room, and once I’m certain that he isn’t going to come back to bother me, I collapse on my bed.“What the fuck?” I hiss, letting images of my vision return now that I was alone and able to process them. “What the fuck did I just see?”Honestly, out of all the deaths I witnessed, that was the most brutal. Luckily, in my time of seeing how people die, there were only a rare few times it was by something like murder. That was part of the reason I wanted to become a crime scene investigator so that I could put my strange ability to use and hopefully bring closure to those who were taken from the world too soon, but because of the bastard, I was actually slightly concerned about that wouldn’t happen. Not until next year anyway since the last chance to take the exam had passed.“Dammit.” I growl, shooting a glare toward my door as if the one who was grinding on my last nerve was there. “I won’t let you get away with it.”As t

  • Till Death Do Us Part   His Death

[Remi's POV]Blood. There was so much blood I didn't know when it began or where it ended. The suffocating scent of iron attacks my nose, making me feel like I was going to hurl. It was all so overpowering that if I didn’t know any better, I would believe that what was taking place in front of me was real instead of a vision.Trying to calm myself, I begin to look around in an attempt to determine what exactly it was that I was seeing until my eyes come to rest on Kane. He’s sprawled out on the ground with his head twisted at an odd angle and his limbs twisted irregularly. He is lying in a pool of his own blood at the bottom of a very tall building, and I don’t even need to think too long about what it is that I’m supposed to be seeing. To the naked eye, this would seem like nothing more than a suicide given his position, but that was something I couldn’t believe. Not with the look of shock on his face and the gashes that cover his skin. What I was seeing were the telltale signs of mu

  • Till Death Do Us Part   Her Scent

[Kane’s POV]I don't speak as the little delinquent shoves past me, causing the scent of cinnamon and spice to attack my senses. I have to admit, she smells so fucking good. Did she also taste good? As this thought hits me, I feel the flare of desire, but I remain in place, watching her carefully as she stops long enough to meet my gaze so that I find myself getting lost in her deep grey pools while the odd sense of longing that I felt when I first saw her returns. It can't be I tell myself as shock and wonder rushes through me. There's no way that she is my destined one.It was a fucking joke that the one I had been waiting all these years for was standing in front of me. But even now, as I stare into her grey eyes and feel that same damn draw urging me to take her and claim her for my own, I don't move or dare claim what is mine.It is driving my hunger wild. It was becoming restless and frustrated with my inaction, but I wouldn't move, and I wouldn't acknowledge her. She would neve
