IVY

After the court hearing, I lingered around. I stood in a private place and watched Mark and Vector drive out of the court premises.

“I hate you both,” I blurted in a whisper.

I really wished that they would both spend the rest of their lives in jail. It upset me that after my attempt to cause a rift between them, it didn’t work.

Anyway, I waited for Detective Kent.

They took longer than expected inside the courtroom, but I didn’t mind. I wasn’t waiting for him because of our last discussion, but I waited for him because of something else I wanted to ask him.

Eventually, they came out.

Fortunately, Mark’s new lawyer was the first to come out. Some seconds after he drove out, Detective Kent came out.

I hurried to him.

“Detective!” I called.

When he saw me, he became carefully alert instantly. He looked around to ensure that no one was looking at him before turning to me.

“Ivy, I thought you had left,” he said.

“Obviously I haven’t,” I responded with a small smile. “I was waiting to

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Struggle In My Conscience

MARKMy conversation with Brent was disturbing, and as much as I was still finding it hard to believe, I knew that I would have to follow his lead.“Good morning, Mr. Mark,” my secretary said.“Good morning,” I responded. “Is Mr. Devon here yet?” I asked her.“Yes, he is,” she responded.“Ask him to come to my office,” I said.“Yes, sir,” she responded and I went into my office.Mr. Devon came into my office not too long after that, and as I stared at him, I wondered if Brent could have made a mistake.Even though Devon had been on my nerves for weeks now, it still didn’t change the fact that he was more than just an employee. He was my dad’s friend, lawyer, and confident, and even after my dad passed and I became CEO, Mr. Devon had been nothing but an anchor of support.I couldn’t forget how he saved me from losing the company to those bloody shareholders who tried to take advantage of the fact that I was in coma. “Good morning, Mark,” Mr. Devon said, cutting through my thought. “Yo

ALEXAI wanted to listen more, but one of them turned and saw me, and Mr. Gerald was alerted. He turned, saw me, and broke into a smile.“Alexa, please come in,” he said, gesturing at me.I got up and went into the small office.“Good morning,” I greeted all three of them.“You all remember Alexa Silver, my former stylist, don’t you?” Mr. Gerald asked his friends.“How could we forget?” One of them asked lightly.“She turned your fashion game around,” the second one said. “Unfortunately, you couldn’t keep up,” he added. But they were all speaking in light tones, and when they laughed briefly, I understood that they weren’t taking things too seriously, which made me smile a little.“Alexa, this is Tom Hardy and Glazer, my friends and business partners,” he introduced. The men shook hands with me briefly and professionally.“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Alexa,” they said.“The pleasure is mine,” I responded.Even though I was exchanging smiles and pleasantries, I knew that I wanted to h

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   His Company

ALEXAI arrived at my fashion store in the morning, and the first thing I saw on my desk was a bunch of flowers and a short note from Donald Shell.I was barely even done reading through it when Noelle entered without knocking.“Good morning, Alexa,” she greeted. Then her eyes caught the flowers, and her eyes widened with delight. “Are these from Donald?” She asked with hopeful anticipation.“Yes, they are,” I responded drily, but Noelle was too excited about them to even notice my mood.“They are beautiful!” She screeched in delight. “You have to be the luckiest man in the whole of Paris!” She added gleefully.Contrary to how Noelle was feeling, I was getting really fed up with the flowers, and I was already concluding that I would have to give this to my secretary because I didn’t know what to do with them or where to put them.“Isn’t that right?” I said dully.Noelle took her seat without being asked.“You haven’t told me all about Toronto,” she said, urging me.I looked at Noelle,

MARK“That cannot be true,” I stated when I got out of my shock.“I am not wrong, Mark,” Brent said. “I have never been wrong, and this will not be my first time,” Brent added.“Mr. Devon?” I asked myself out loud in disbelief.“Yes, Devon Charles,” he responded again.“How did you come to this result?” I asked Brent. No matter what, I still couldn’t believe this, and yes, I knew Brent was great at what he did and was not known for lies or false results, which was why I was confused.“I already knew that it came from your company, so I had someone dig into your company staff members, with your permission, of course,” Brent started and I nodded in agreement.I already hired him to find out whatever was going on in my company discreetly, so I wasn’t surprised, and I didn’t even need to know, in particular, how Brent had been able to get into my company. This was his specialty, and he knew exactly what he was doing.“I started by checking out their handwritings from their signatures, and

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   What He Found

MARKI had one of the roughest nights in a really long time, and I felt sore and grumpy.“Coffee, Mr. Mark,” my chef said, but I shook my head.“Not in the mood for anything right now,” I told her and walked out of the living room.I was dressed for work really early, which was a little unlike me, but since I couldn’t get some rest or even sleep, I decided to leave early.Thoughts of Alexa being with Donald, so much so that she even allowed him to take her calls had ruined my entire night. Last night, Vector had suggested that we hung out together for a few drinks, but I just couldn’t.I sent him off, returned home, and tossed on my bed all night. This morning, however, I decided that I wouldn’t think about it even though it was still bottled up somewhere in my chest. I would definitely be seeing Alexa soonest, and that might make me feel worse, but before then, I wanted to stop beating myself up about it.I did try my best with her, but if she had decided for no reason, that she want

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Loving And Charming

ALEXAI had to hurry to the bathroom for a few seconds to catch my breath when Donald told me that Gina had seduced him. I tried to think of Gina doing something like that, but I just couldn’t come to the thought. Was that why she started acting strange to me?Even though I wasn’t sexually attracted to Donald, I couldn’t dispute the fact that he was attractive. Added to that, Donald Shell was also very wealthy. Like Noelle always said, any woman would want to be with him.Was Gina also one of those women?I lingered in the restroom for a few minutes before I came back to the restaurant. Leaving in a haste made me leave my purse behind, but I noticed that the position had changed.“Did anyone touch my purse?” I asked instinctively.I didn’t know what I was thinking, or maybe it was because I still wasn’t comfortable being in the midst of Noelle and Donald, but I reached for my purse.“What are you insinuating?” Noelle asked lightly. Her tone was light, but I could sense that she was di
