MARK

“How is my general health condition?” I asked Doctor Jones who had come in early the next morning for my general checkup.

It wasn’t the day for my doctor’s appointment, but being that I would have to return to going to the company every single day, I needed to be certain that I wasn’t putting my health at risk. The last thing I needed was fainting or passing out in the presence of everyone else.

It was bad enough to ruin my reputation.

“From what I am looking at, we have a little problem with your health,” Doctor Jones said and I looked at him instantly, worried and alert.

“Problem? How do you mean?” I asked him, worry etched on my face.

This was really the last thing I wanted to hear right now. Mr. Devon had already informed me that the stakeholders would not hold out for me any longer, especially with the fact that I was now unmarried. Besides, I really wanted to fully and completely be whole again, and the last thing I needed right now was to be told of more health challenges

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   My Stepsister's Lover

ALEXAThe next couple of days were filled with packing and preparing for the trip with the pop-star. Fortunately for me, my secretary was very competent and efficient.I still attended to my other clients, but I was more focused on everything that was required of me for the trip. I also could not deny the fact that I was thrilled. After trying so hard to reach Noelle, I was eventually able to get through to her.“Noelle, you have been too scarce!” I said as soon as the call connected even though I was very relieved.I didn’t even know that I could survive without Noelle’s presence for this long. Her trip, which was supposed to last for just a couple of days, was taking longer than expected, and it was affecting me. These days, I only came home to an empty apartment, and no one to talk to about my day, share a gossip with, or watch a TV show with.I was now used to having Noelle around that her absence was deeply felt. However, on the other hand, this was the first time that I was bein

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   One Man's Loss

MARKFor years, I had been frequenting this club, but never had my presence been acknowledged. This was an elite club that only the rich could afford, so what was so special about Donald that he was being worshipped.Everyone except Vector seemed to be awed by his majestic and magnificent presence. He was undeniably looking dashing, and the smug smile on his face made my skin crawl. “It is good to be back,” Donald said, his voice dripping with pride and arrogance.I wish I could take my eyes off him and pretend like I didn’t give a fuck about his presence, but I just couldn’t. I couldn’t take my eyes off him and my anger boiled deep inside of me.I wanted to punch that smug smile off his disgusting face.“Such a pompous bastard,” Vector retorted with a hiss.He was the only one that was on my side, and that was because he knew exactly who Donald Shell was and what he had tried to do to my company.“Some people tried to tarnish the image that I have built for years, but what they don’

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Grand Appearance

MARKThe scenario of Alexa being extremely hostile and harsh towards me, Donald Shell arriving with flowers in his hand and dominating her territory kept playing in my head.Donald acted as though Alexa belonged to him and I had no right to be there. The anger and jealously that had eaten me up when I had to walk out of Alexa’s store before I would do something that I would regret was still eating me up deeply.I had thought that seeing Alexa with that Oscar guy at her launch party was infuriating, but this was even worse. It was worse because I knew Donald Shell, and he was more a threat than Oscar would have ever been.I would have gladly chosen Oscar as my competitor rather than Donald, and from the look of things, Alexa had already fallen for him.I lost appetite and even the zeal to do anything.Going back to the company hadn’t worked for the rest of the day, because I couldn’t concentrate, and now that I was back home, it wasn’t any better. I couldn’t stop thinking and imagining

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Who Is Winning

IVYIt was getting dark and I was becoming more and more restless. The injury on my head which now carried a bandage was taking too much time to heal. I knew that it only happened recently, but somehow, I wished that the pain and scar would magically disappear. Being confined in the house was making me go insane, especially being that I had never been in this position before. It even made me more aggravated because neither Mark nor Oscar even attempted to check up on me, especially Oscar who was the cause of this.I couldn’t go out, so that no one would know what happened to me, and I couldn’t visit Mark as well for the same reason. It felt as though I was imprisoned, and it was making me cranky and very frustrated.“Yes!” I yelled when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. The housekeeper came in with a tray of food, and my irritation and anger increased instantly.“What do you want here?” I asked her.She looked a bit confused that I was asking her that, because I could clearly see t

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Something Off

ALEXAEven a dead person could feel the hostility and intensity that oozed between Mark and Donald. I had no idea that they knew each other, and the hatred that passed between them seeped into my skin and caused goosebumps all over my body.Watching Mark leave gave me mixture of feelings even though I didn’t want him in my store to begin with.I wasn’t also expecting Donald Shell either, and this was the third flower bouquet I was getting from him in a day. They were beautiful and smelled nicely, but it was getting too much and sending too many messages. His presence reminded me that I really wasn’t ready to see him today, or any time soon.“I am glad I came when I did,” Donald said.“Why?” I asked, confused.“Should we go into your office?” Donald asked, reminding me of my manners.I had been checking things up with my secretary before Mark barged in like he owned the place, and I guess that was one of the things that upset me. Another one was the fact that he was in my store less th

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Wounded And Fallen Ego

MARK“What do you mean by that?” I asked him.His voice sounded deep and dreadful and it sent shivers done my spine. It wasn’t really about the words in particular, but the way he said it.“There is always more to it than meets the eye, Mark. Just be careful around him,” Mr. Gerald said and walked away. When he walked away, I almost began to dwell on the thought, but I quickly pushed it off my thoughts. Mr. Gerald wasn’t worth it.He was hurt and pained that his sins had caught up with him, and like every other loser, he was looking for someone to take down with him. I always laughed out loud at his words of being careful. This was the same man who wanted to take away my company.“He is such a joker,” I said to myself.I was almost embarrassed that I allowed his empty warning and baseless words to send shivers down my spine. They were all angry with Mr. Devon who had chosen to be loyal and committed to the growth of my company rather than to join them in stealing it, and he wanted me

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Be Careful

MARKMr. Devon and I waited for the three men at the conference room patiently. True to Mr. Devon’s words, three hours later, he returned to the company with the permission to dissolve the stakeholders permanently.“You are a genius, Mr. Devon,” I had told him, then proceeded to call for an emergency meeting. As we sat and waited for them, I could not help but imagine the look on their faces when the bomb would go off on them. I recalled the last time that we had sat together and the pride and confidence they had had. They thought that perhaps, I would fail soon, and they would be able to take over what they never worked so hard to build. This company was a Ronaldo legacy, and nothing was going to change that.“Mr. Devon, are you sure that after this, there is nothing else that is going to threaten my position as the CEO?” I asked Mr. Devon again. This was like the fifth time I was asking him the same question since we arrived at the conference room. I didn’t want any more surprises a

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Everything Is Working Out Well!

MARKThe news Mr. Devon gave me to lifted my spirit! It was exactly what I wanted to hear from him! “Are you for real?” I asked Mr. Devon.“Of course, Mark,” he answered. Finally, I would be able to get them off the company for good, and the issue of getting married and the pressure that came with it just to secure my position as the rightful heir would disappear.“Excuse me,” Mr. Devon said. After he left, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My heart was filled with so much relief and gladness, so much so that my attention left the email response I had been expecting from Alexa all day. This was more important than anything else in the world.Mr. Devon returned a few minutes later with a file in his hand. He opened it and passed it to me.“Take a look at it and see what I was talking about,” Mr. Devon said. I looked at the file and every clause attached to the position of the stakeholders in my company was boldly written there. I grinned from ear to ear. These men became my nightmar

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   We Have A Deal!

ALEXA“Miss Alexa, you have another client!” My secretary squealed in delightfulness.“Another one?” I asked, my eyes wide with shock and excitement. We had just finished attending to the ten that came as a result of Donald’s contract, and I was yet to catch my breath. In fact, I was about to order lunch when she came in and broke the news.I could barely contain my joy.The last ten whom we had attended to came with big bucks, and as they were signing the contract, my secretary was doing a good job putting it out there in a subtle way that showed as advertisement. “A pop-star,” she told me. “And he wants to know if he can come and get his contract signed because of his busy schedule,” she informed me.“What are you waiting for?!” I asked her, almost screaming in excitement.“I already did, ma’am, I just wanted to let you know, because he would be here any moment from now,” she told me.“You are the best!” I complimented her as she returned to her position.I was too excited to even
