MARK

“Alexa?” I asked Clara. “She knew all these?”

“Alexa might look like the good girl, but she is not, Mark, and you have to believe me. She makes everyone around her think that she is better, but she isn’t,” Clara answered. “She knew what Ivy went through for you. She knew that Ivy suffered greatly, but yet, she went ahead to take Ivy’s place without a second thought, because that was what she always wanted,” Clara added.

The whole story was beginning to make twists and turns in my head now

It's so frustrating the Mark is supposed to be capable, yet falls for these simple lies and manipulations of Ivy then Clara. Occam's Razor would help him so much.

Karma for Ivy and Clara the gold digging team who only wants Mark’s money and status for their own selfish needs. Alexa never used your money or your status. Ivy left after you were in a coma not expected to live a whole man. Alexa nursed you back to health not Ivy. She came back afterwards

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Not Rich Enough

ALEXA“I can’t believe she would show up at your business,” Noelle said after I told her everything. But I didn’t until after the surprise I threw for her for her engagement; the one Shirley helped me in planning.I was tired of letting my situations to ruin things, and I didn’t want that. The Paris fair was just two days away, and after that, the entire city would be thrown into a festive mood, and right after that, I would start making plans to leave Paris so that I could have my baby without the fear of anyone destroying that part of my life and beginning. It would be a whole lot, and I might not even remember to do anything for Noelle, so I had to do it before the fair, and it went well.Noelle was deeply happy, and that made me happy as well. It had been way too long since I last did anything good for Noelle. So far, she had been the one looking out for me and trying to make me happy. She was still the one trying to make arrangements for me on when and where to go to have my baby

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Another Betrayal?

IVYI became frantic instantly. My first thought was to flee, but when I looked around, there wasn’t anywhere else I could flee to. I couldn’t even make use of the window.Truly, I felt better and rested, so I did have some strength to run away, but how do I get out?It would have to be the front door through the living room and I really couldn’t get through because Lena and Lionel were right there. My heart began to pound so fast that I feared they would hear the sound of it.“Gosh, how sick of me to have trusted her!” I said in my mind. She was a stranger who had, for some reasons, barged into the apartment that Lionel had rented, and without thinking, I had poured out my heart to her and even followed her all the way to hers. “I can’t believe I have fallen for another foul play,” I lamented tearfully. My life had to be some form of a joke at this point.I swallowed hard.I could see my life flashing right before my eyes.“Why are you here?” Lena asked Lionel, her voice harsh and

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Feel Comfortable

IVY“Make yourself comfortable, Ivy. There is nothing to fear here,” Lena Harvey said as she led me into her apartment. She gave me an offer that I couldn’t refuse even though I knew that anything could go wrong, and if it ever did, I would be the one to suffer for it.“Thank you, Lena,” I told her.The drive from Lionel’s apartment to hers was about thirty minutes, and it was so refreshing being in her car and not having to wonder what was next.I didn’t want to.I looked around her apartment and it was cozy and beautiful.“Your apartment is beautiful,” I complimented her and I meant it.“Thanks,” Lena simply said. “Get comfortable, Ivy. I will get you something that will help with your strength,” she added.I sat down in her soft couch and inhaled deeply. This was close to what freedom felt like.Even when Lionel took me away from the mental home, I still didn’t feel this way right now. It just felt different, and I was trying hard not to dwell on the negative and what could go wron

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Her Name

MARK“You have impressed me so far, Brandon,” I told the younger man, and I meant it. “Your interview was good, but your work so far has been great,” I added.I rarely complimented anyone, but Brandon’s hard work in the last ten days had been nothing short of perfect.“Thank you, Mr. Mark,” he said.“The fair is in a few days, and I expect that by then we would have wrapped up everything and be ready,” I said.“I am already half-way through, Mr. Mark,” Brandon said.“You can call me Mark,” I told him.Brandon nodded.“I already know that your company thrives on excellence and perfection, and that is exactly what I hope to achieve with all the tasks I have been given,” Brandon said.“You did your due diligence,” I noted.Brandon wanted to leave, but he hesitated.“Is there something else?” I asked him.“Mark, I know that my appointment is on a temporary basis and after this fair is over, my work here is done,” Brandon started.“Yes, that’s right,” I said.“I did mention during my inter

IVYI jerked when I felt a hand touch me briefly. The fear came from thinking that it was Lionel; that was how traumatized I was.“I am sorry. I just wanted to sympathize with you,” Lena said.Again, she reminded me of Alexa.Alexa was compassionate and nice even to people that didn’t deserve it or people she wasn’t even close to. I had always know that about her, and deep down, I detested it about her because I always felt that she was doing it because she wanted people to like and accept her.“Lionel is going to be back any time soon,” I reminded her again, fear enveloping me.“He can’t hurt me. He wouldn’t dare,” Lena said with confidence.“But he can hurt me,” I responded. “He will hurt me, Lena. What he cannot do to you and with you he does with me,” I added.Lena sighed deeply. She got up and walked towards the door, but she stopped when she got to the door and turned around, much to my confusion.“I thought you were leaving,” I said. “What is it?” I asked her.“I am deeply shoc

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   Helpless

I was so stunned to my bones that I couldn’t believe what I heard for a few seconds.Standing in front of me was a beautiful and young woman. She seemed like someone from one of the elite families. More than that, this was the last thing I expected.“Lionel’s fiancée?” I asked her when I was eventually able to get out of my shock.“Yes, I am,” she responded, showing off the huge engagement ring on her finger.I still didn’t believe her.Not because someone like her was capable of literally forcing her way into someone’s apartment and randomly declare being a fiancée, but because never in my wildest imaginations did I think that Lionel would have a woman in his life, let alone a fiancée.Since he brought me to this apartment, the only time he had had to go out was whenever he needed to be at work, like right now, and when he was coming back, he would get groceries and every other thing he needed just so that he wouldn’t have to leave the house again.Just so that he could do whatever

  • Till Divorce Do Us Part   The Only Way Out

MARK I was working in my study when I heard a subtle knock on the door. I groaned in annoyance, because I really did not like anyone to be interrupting me while I worked. This was another occasion where I missed having Alexa around. When she still lived here, she knew that I hated to be disturbed

IVY I patiently waited for the girl I had done the business with at a lounge that I was certain few or no one would even recognize me, and soon enough, she sashayed into the lounge.“You are right on time,” I told her the moment she sat down on the other table that I had paid for us.“I don’t joke

MARKOnly one day at the company and one minute with the stakeholders had made me realize the depth of risk I was into.
