Chapter 7

Ned woke up to the sound of his alarm, his heart heavy with the weight of memories. It was the anniversary of the day he made his eternal love promise to Nora, and he couldn't help but feel the pull of their shared history. He sat up in bed, his mind already wandering to the plantation where he grew up with his grandmother and where he first met Nora.

He knew the plantation had fallen into disrepair after Nora's father's death and the subsequent legal battles that followed. But despite all of that, he couldn't help but feel drawn to it. He wanted to see the place where he and Nora had made their promise to each other, to relive the memories that still haunted him.

Ned got dressed quickly, his mind made up. He didn't care if he ran into Ryan, Nora's elder brother who had caused so much pain in his family. He was determined to go back to the plantation and relive the memories of his youth.
