When I looked back at Elle, she stood from her chair without even glancing my way, took a few steps back from me and looked at the ground just as the guards did.
His smell hit me like a brick wall, how did he smell THIS good? I closed my eyes, too busy being completely consumed with taking in that thick coffee smell laced with a rich cinnamon cream, and there it was… oak, to care about what happened to me.
He spun the chair I was on around to face him, staying seated was not a great plan, I was even shorter than usual compared to him now. I could see just past his outline as the guards left, and Elle hurried beside Eathen as they left too.
