2021-11-29 03:00:02KK followed Flynn into the gym as Carter struggled to get Leo from the car. The arm sling kept Leo from being able to move around quickly and thus chaos usually ensued.
"Leo, stop. You're tangled in the seatbelt."
Leo stood still while Carter untangled him and then dashes after KK, who is already inside the gym. Carter took a deep sigh, shaking his head. He had never seen his boss so whipped. He chuckled, closing the car door and following the threesome inside.
Flynn handed KK a pair of gloves, leading him into the ring. Leo stood close by, nervous for KK. He didn't want to see that face bruised, he liked his face the way it was. The only other person Leo had ever been so protective over was Carter.

A secretary wandered into the room and stood beside the older man. At the hospital, Leo sat next to KK in the ICU. He looked at the tubes and machinery hooked up to the private detective. He thrust his head in his hands in anguish. He began talking but KK wasn't awake to hear him. "Kaden, why did you leave the house? You were safe there. I'm sorry you had to hear all the things I said to Mage. I didn't mean a word of it..." He sighed heavily, reaching for the younger man's hand. Caressing the back with his thumb, he continued. "Wake up, will ya? I need to talk to you. I..." He choked back the lump in his throat and wiped a tear as it slipped down his worried, exhausted face. "I need you to get better. I need..." The door opened and a doctor entered. Leo stood waiting for the results and condition of his beloved. His eyes wide, the doctor could see the pain on his face. He smiled reassuredly as he walked towards the patient. Pushing Carter behind him, Flynn pulled a pistol from under his shirt and aimed it towards the entrance of the room. Carter looked behind them, his hand holding the tail of Flynn's shirt. Leo ran into the hospital and headed to the emergency room. Teams of doctors and nurses were dashing around. Apparently, KK wasn't the only one having a bad day. Leo darted around, searching for the bed Kaden was in. He began to panic when he couldn't find him. He ran up two flights of stairs to the inpatient floor and spotted Flynn and Carter sitting together on a bench near the operating arena. Carter noticed Leo first and jumped up to stop him from barging into the OR. Flynn made himself a barricade as well. "Leo, slow down." Leo stopped, staring at the closed doors and the sign lit up red above. A tear formed in his eye and he slowly looked to the two men standing next to him. He noticed the look of worry on their faces and the tears began to slip down his tired face. Carter couldn't take it. His boss was tough, not one to cry...ever. The upside-down Audi smashed against the pavement in front of an oncoming garbage truck. KK turned his head, looking across the passenger seat, in time to see the smoke from the brakes of the truck as it attempted to stop before striking him. He braced for impact, not feeling the injuries he had already suffered. The truck managed to stop enough, barely tapping the side of the crushed Audi and spinning it around in the center of the roadway.
