“I told you that I know your family, Eira.” Koa smirked, knowingly. I shrugged Isaac’s arm off of my shoulders and glared at the three males. I groaned, frustrated and turned to walk home. “Where do you think you’re going this late?” He was taller than me so it didn’t take long for him to easily catch up to me, coming to a stop in front of me. I glared daggers up at him, crossing my arms defiantly. I chewed on my lower lip defiantly while angrily shifting my weight onto my right leg.

“Come on Eira. Just get in the car. You know that Ma would kill us if we let you walk home, alone, at this hour.” Landon complained. I whipped around so that I could face him, growing angrier by the minute. I flipped him off causing him to sigh.

“Do I look like I fucking care right now? I’m a grown ass woman and can take care of myself!” I declared, placing my hands on my hips. He looked at me pleadingly and I shook my head, then turned so that I could begin to walk home once more. Within seconds of turning towards the right direction, I was lifted and thrown over a muscular shoulder. “Put me down!” I thumped my fists against his back. I felt his upper body shake with a deep, hearty laugh.

“Yeah, when hell freezes I will. You insist on walking home, and I insist that you not go alone. This is a win-win for everyone.” I growled, giving up the fight. “I thought you said you could take care of yourself, little Dawn?” I stiffened at the old nickname, but quickly regained my composure.

“Well maybe I’m just tired from wearing these heels.” I retorted back at him. Koa was already walking to my family’s house when he stopped briefly. “What are you doing?” I tried to twist around so that I could see why he had suddenly stopped. I felt him gently sliding off my heels whilst still holding me draped over his shoulder.

“Is that better?” He asked as he held me with one arm and my heels dangled in his other hand. I grunted at how easily he had practically kidnapped me.

“What does it matter to you if it’s better or not?” I sneered towards his back. He chuckled again causing me to release an annoyed sigh.

“Cut the act. I know you. You know me. Do I really need to travel down memory lane with you?” He placed me down on the front steps of a tall building. I looked around me to realize this was not my house. What the hell was going on? I glared up at him again when he took me by surprise. He stepped closer to me, making me instinctively back up. The only problem was that now I was trapped between him and the brick wall next to the door of the building.

“What the hell are you doing? And where the hell are we?” He smirked while his aura was causing me to begin to submit again. He ran his hand along my cheek while slowly leaning in. Instinctively, I closed my eyes and began nervously chewing on my lower lip. I could feel my breath stopping in my throat.

“Same little Dawn.” He growled teasingly in my ear. “It’s nice to know that after all this time, I can easily still have this effect.” I glared up at him.

“Stop! Stop calling me that!” I shouted. He chuckled, shaking his head. I growled lowly in frustration.

“How do you plan to stop me?” He peered down at me, clearly amused at my reaction. I groaned.

“Why do you have to come back?” I asked through gritted teeth. “I thought you and your dad were done with all of this.” His expression turned serious and his light blue eyes grew darker. “That you were done with me.” I murmured quietly. I saw his face turn sorrowful for a brief moment until he composed himself once more.

“Let’s discuss this inside shall we?” I creased my brows in confusion. He leaned forward, this time there was no teasing in his tone. “Someone is watching us.” He whispered into my ear, then quickly took my hand, slid his key-card, and dragged me to the elevator. Once safely inside of the metal box, he pushed for the top floor. “You’re staying here with me tonight. Your brothers said that if you went home drunk again, you were going to be in serious trouble with your mother.” I rolled my eyes but knew that he wasn’t exactly wrong so I stayed silent.

His top floor apartment was massive. There in the middle of the living area, was a grand piano. I chuckled since it made me think of that 50 shades story. I wonder if he had a red room too. During my inner thoughts and quiet giggling, I realized that he was watching me with a brow raised. “What’s so funny?”

I quickly shook my head, clearing my thoughts away. “So why did you come back, Koa?” I asked, refusing to change the subject again.

He heaved a heavy sigh, “I need your family’s help. My father is in trouble because of his past with your parents.” I froze, shocked.

Recap: “You’re right it’s not. It’s safer. It means I know my twin brother won’t ever leave me. It means that you also keep everyone else safe and aware using the God given skills that you have.” I felt the familiar stinging behind my eyes causing me to look down at my hands. The next thing I know, I was pulled into one of the tightest hugs that I had felt in a long time. I broke down then, bawling and gasping for breath while hiding my face into my twin brother’s shoulder. “I’m sorry E. I—I didn’t think of it like that…” I nodded at his hushed words while he slowly rubbed circles on my back. Once I was able to pull myself back together, I sat beside him on the cot until he fell asleep and Koa came to talk to me. —--------------------------- He motioned for me to follow him out of the room, which I agreed to. “He apparently went with Isaac and Landon to help on a recon mission. You can’t react if you want to know all of the details, do you understand?” I rolled my eyes at my husba

  • To Catch a Dream   Uh Oh

Recap: “I can be okay with that.” I walked up to him so that I could wrap my arms around his waist and rest my head against his chest. He pulled me in closer while resting his cheek on the top of my head. “Thank you.” He whispered against my hair. I looked up at him with a mischievous grin causing him to look at me questioningly. “What are you thinking?” Instead of giving him a verbal response, I slid my hands to the buttons on his shirt before undoing them. He chuckled before lifting me and carrying me into a luxurious bedroom for our first time as a married couple. —------------------------------- Our honeymoon was filled with different adventures and experiences. On our last day of the honeymoon, I finally convinced him to go swimming in the ocean with me. “Babe, is this really necessary? You know I don’t care for swimming let alone for swimming with fish.” I chuckled at his panicked expression. “You’re the big bad hitman but afraid of fish?” I teased him, causing him to give a

  • To Catch a Dream   First Night Completed

Recap: “Let’s do it.” I grinned while standing on my tiptoes so that I could kiss his lips. Once everyone was done eating their food it was time to cut the cake. Koa and I grinned at each other as we were each handed a piece. Azzie was standing next to me and Ethan was standing next to Koa. We moved in like we were going to get each other with the pieces of cake, but at the last second I smashed my piece of wedding cake into Ethan’s face while Koa did Azzie’s. The room erupted into fits of laughter while our second hands looked shocked. The rest of the night was filled with laughter and dancing. Our DJ asked everyone to leave the room so that Koa and I could have one last dance before the wedding was completely finished, giving us a moment to catch our breath. —-------------------------- I was surprised when Koa did not go back to the penthouse or even stay at my family’s house but instead drove to the airport. “What are we doing here?” I turned in the front seat to get a better loo

  • To Catch a Dream   The Day Has Come

Recap:Forming a cross over where my heart was located, I spoke, “I promise. I will do as I’m told just this once.” He chuckled while shaking his head. He gave a wolfish grin while nodding slowly before pulling me into him.“That and so much more, little Dawn.” He chuckled, planting a swift kiss on my temple before holding me tightly. “I’m so sorry for all of this though.” I nodded while rubbing his back gently.“I know.” I whispered.—--------------------The day has finally come for the wedding.
