Tonia's POV.

I held his hand and took it to my face. I nuzzled my cheek against it and tears escaped my eyes.

"Thank you for everything you've done for me. I will never forget our happy moments," I sobbed.

My heart was being ripped apart.

"I know you might hate me when you wake up and realize that I am gone, but I just want you to know that I am doing this for your well-being. I hope you understand."

"I hope you don't search for me, and respect my decision," I muttered and brought out a folded note from my pocket.

Although I had been told that some people could hear things during their coma, I couldn't rely on that.

I had written everything I felt inside the note and would give it to Leah when I was ready to leave.

"I would have put this in your hand, but your grandfather might come to see you and get rid of it. I don't want that," I laughed bitterly.

I removed his hand from my face and placed it by his side. I leaned closer to him and held his face.
