Estelle pushed her IV pole back toward her room.

Natalie was just returning with the soup. When she saw Estelle out of bed, she hurried over.

"Your fever just broke and you're already wandering around? Do you have a death wish?"

She pressed Estelle down onto the edge of the bed and put on her sternest face.

"You have a heart condition. You need to be more careful."

Warmth spread through Estelle's chest. She pressed her lips together and smiled.

"I went to get my test results."

Estelle pushed her IV pole back toward her room.Natalie was just returning with the soup. When she saw Estelle out of bed, she hurried over."Your fever just broke and you're already wandering around? Do you have a death wish?"She pressed Estelle down onto the edge of the bed and put on her sternest face."You have a heart condition. You need to be more careful."Warmth spread through Estelle's chest. She pressed her lips together and smiled."I went to get my test results."Natalie pulled the lid off the soup container and kept scolding her."I told you I'd get them for you. Why are you running around?"Then she held out her hand, worried."Where's the report? Let me see."Estelle blinked. She didn't want to lie to Natalie. But she did it anyway, against her own heart."I took it to the doctor to go over it. I left it in his office."Natalie didn't think twice. All she cared about was Estelle's health."So what did it say?"Estelle answered slowly and calmly. "It was just a blood t

  • Too Late, Mr. Billionaire; I'm Getting Married!   Strangers Even If We Meet

Natalie heard Estelle crying out again and again. It scared her half to death. She quickly shook Estelle's shoulder."Stella, what's wrong?"Slowly, Estelle's mind drifted back to her.She opened her eyes.Edward was gone. Derrick was gone. All that was left was Natalie's worried face.Only then did she realize it had been a nightmare. She had dreamed of the past. Of people she never wanted to see again. She pushed the images out of her head and swallowed against her dry, aching throat. She reached for water, but when she lifted her arm, she saw the IV taped to it."You had a high fever, so I brought you to the hospital."Seeing how dazed she was, Natalie explained gently. She picked up the glass of water from the side table and helped her drink. The cool water slid down her throat. Little by little, a bit of life came back to her..."Nat...""Hm?"Natalie answered softly. She brushed back the strands of hair stuck to Estelle's damp forehead and tucked them behind her ear."Are you hu

  • Too Late, Mr. Billionaire; I'm Getting Married!   Derrick, Don't Go

Estelle ran home through the rain. The moment she was inside, she peeled off the evening gown, unclasped the diamond necklace from her neck, and tossed them both into a box.Tomorrow, she would mail everything back to Victor. Anything of his made her sick. She wasn't keeping a single thing. She closed the lid, then went into the bathroom, turned on the faucet, and lay down in the tub.She grabbed the loofah and scrubbed her face and back as hard as she could. Only when her skin was red and raw did she stop and look at herself in the mirror.Without makeup, all that was left was a sickly paleness. There was no life in her face at all. Her eyes were dull, empty, almost dead. She couldn't see any light. She couldn't feel any warmth. She was like a dirty little ant. Anyone could step on her.But she was a person too. She had her dignity..."Dignity."Estelle turned the word over in her mouth and gave a bitter, self-mocking laugh. From the moment she sold herself to Edward, she had stopped

  • Too Late, Mr. Billionaire; I'm Getting Married!   Dax's Warning

Estelle glanced at Dax in the front passenger seat.He was looking straight out the window, his head turned away from her. Only then did some of her awkwardness fade. She lowered her head and quietly dabbed the rainwater off her body with tissues.Through the rearview mirror, Dax looked at the thin figure in the back seat.It was freezing tonight. And yet she wasn't even wearing a coat. She had been standing out in the rain, trying to flag down a cab.He couldn't help being curious."Miss Holder, why didn't Victor drive you home?"At the name, Estelle frowned in confusion. It took her a moment to remember. As far as everyone knew, she was Victor's "woman" now.She tightened her grip on the tissues and made up a quick lie."We had a little argument. He kicked me out of the car."Dax nodded slightly. "I see."He noticed she was shivering. He reached over and turned up the heat. After that, he didn't ask any more questions. The sudden warmth filled the car. Little by little, Estelle's fr

Edward's cold, distant face slowly grew colder. Even his eyes and brows took on a chill that cut to the bone.He set down his glass and lifted his icy gaze to Dax."What do you think?"Dax worked up his courage and took a guess."I think you like her at least a little. Otherwise, why would you get so angry when Victor said he slept with her that you poured wine all over her?"Edward gave a cold laugh."She slept with Victor Robinson right after we split. I wasn't used to it, so I taught her a lesson. And now that means I like her?"As he spoke, the chill in his eyes faded. What was left was only cool indifference, as if the woman he had punished meant nothing to him at all.Seeing him like this, Dax quietly let out a breath of relief. His cousin was obsessive about cleanliness. Of course he would struggle to accept that a woman he had been with had turned around and slept with someone else so quickly.Besides, the moment Aeliyah came back, Edward had ended things with Estelle. That sa

  • Too Late, Mr. Billionaire; I'm Getting Married!   Taken to the Grave

The check was made of stiff paper. Where it had scraped across her cheek, it stung.Estelle stood frozen for a few seconds. Then, without a word, she bent down and picked it up.When she saw the amount written on it, the bitterness at the corners of her lips spread through her entire chest.Five hundred million dollars.Five years in exchange for five hundred million. Not a bad price.Five years ago, she had desperately needed money. But now? You couldn't bring it into this world, and you couldn't take it with you when you left. She didn't need it anymore. Her face calm, Estelle placed the check back inside the car."How generous of you, Mr. Strickland. But if I took your money, I wouldn't be able to marry into the Robinson family with a clean name."What she meant was simple.Compared to becoming the wife of the Robinson heir, five hundred million dollars was nothing. If anything, accepting his money would only ruin her chances of marrying into a powerful family.Only now did Edward
