Lydia POV

It was the morning after the whole Marcus thing. I don’t even know how I managed to sleep, but somehow I did. And then I woke up at 4 a.m.

Four.

That alone told me something was wrong, because I am not a morning person. The earliest I wake up on a normal day is 5 a.m., and even that it’s because I’m now a mother.

So 4 a.m.? Yeah. Problem.

I just lay there for a few seconds, staring at the ceiling, my mind already running ahead of me. Then I sighed, pushed the duvet off, and went down

  • Too Late To Love Me: I Already Left With His Twins   Nothing much

Lydia POV Then she shrugged. “Don’t worry, Mom. It’s nothing much.” I paused. “Nothing much?” “Yeah.” I studied her face, trying to work out whether she was simply being her usual reserved self or whether she’d decided that whatever she’d wanted to tell me earlier wasn’t worth sharing anymore. “Are you sure?” She nodded and reached for her cutlery. “I’m sure.” I considered asking again, but I didn’t want to turn a simple conversation into an interrogation. Perhaps she genuinely didn’t have much to say. Perhaps she was tired. Perhaps she’d just remembered something else. “All right, sweetheart,” I said. “You can tell me whenever you feel like it.” She gave me a small smile. “Okay, Mom.” Dinner was served shortly afterwards, and Eli, who apparently believed silence at the dining table was a personal offence, immediately resumed his physics lecture. “Daddy would have liked the demonstration,” he announced, scooping food onto his spoon. “I want to show him how the spring balan

“Hi, booey.”There was a brief silence on the other end of the call. Then Dave said, “Hmm. That’s new. What’s happening, babe?”I smiled, leaning against the wall just outside the dining area. “Nothing is happening. Can’t a woman call her husband-to-be a pet name in peace?”“My apologies, ma’am. Please, continue.”I laughed. “Well, I read somewhere that calling each other pet names fosters love and helps couples develop stronger emotional bonds. Apparently, it makes you feel closer to each other.”For a moment, he said nothing. Then he laughed. Not his usual quiet chuckle or the amused little sound he made whenever I said something ridiculous. No, this man laughed so heartily that I had to pull the phone away from my ear, wondering what exactly was so funny about my very reasonable contribution to our relationship.“Dave, what’s funny?”“Nothing, sweetheart. Absolutely nothing.” He was still laughing. “It’s just you.”“What’s that supposed to mean?”“It means you don’t need to worry a

  • Too Late To Love Me: I Already Left With His Twins   A call

Lydia POV “Mom, school was so much fun today! We did a demonstration of Archimedes’ principle in physics, and we also learnt about contact and non-contact forces!” I raised my eyebrows. “Really? That sounds interesting.” “It was! We used water and different objects, and our teacher showed us why some things float and some things sink. Then we did the forces thing, too!” “Slow down, Professor Eli,” I said, laughing. “Let’s start from the beginning. Tell me what happened.” He took a deep breath, as though preparing to deliver a lecture to an audience that had paid good money for tickets. “So, first, our physics teacher brought a big transparent container filled with water. She also brought a measuring cylinder, a small metal object, a stone, a piece of wood, and a plastic ball. Before she started, she asked us what we thought would happen if she put each object into the water.” “And what did you say?” “That the stone would sink, the wood would float, and the plastic ball would f

  • Too Late To Love Me: I Already Left With His Twins   How was school?

Lydia POV “Because this is exactly what was missing, and I couldn’t put my finger on it. We kept talking about more influencers, bigger billboards, and increasing our reach. But we weren’t asking what we wanted people to feel, remember, or do after seeing the brand.” I smiled. “That’s why strategy comes before tactics. Before you spend more money, decide what you want to achieve and what perception you want to build. Then choose the activities that will help you get there.” There was a short silence. Then Anna practically shouted, “YES! EXACTLY! That’s it! That’s what was missing!” I pulled the phone slightly away from my ear and laughed. “Anna, please. My hearing is very important to me.” “I’m sorry, babesss, but I’m excited! I’m going to take this back to my team. We need to review the current strategy, identify what is working, and then build something more cohesive. And I need you to help me think through the campaign idea when we get to that stage.” “Let’s not get ahead of

  • Too Late To Love Me: I Already Left With His Twins   PR suggestion

Lydia POV “Because you know me too well.” She chuckled. “But listen. I feel like there’s something missing from our new PR strategy.” That got my attention. Anna had been working on expanding the visibility of her business, and from what she’d told me previously, the team had already invested in influencer partnerships and billboard advertisements. “Okay,” I said. “Tell me what you’re currently doing.” “We have influencers promoting our products, and we’ve put up billboards in strategic locations. We also post on our social media pages, obviously. Engagement has been decent, and people recognise the brand, but I don’t know. It feels like we’re missing something. Something that makes people connect with us beyond seeing our products on a billboard or watching an influencer talk about them.” I hummed thoughtfully. “Hmm. That’s actually a good observation.” “Thank you, my PR goddess. Please, enlighten me.” “First of all, I think you need to stop looking at PR as just getting peo

  • Too Late To Love Me: I Already Left With His Twins   Opinion

Lydia POVI wanted greenery and flowers, but not an overwhelming amount of either. I wanted natural light, warm lighting in the evening, simple table settings, and a layout that allowed people to talk to one another without having to lean around enormous centrepieces. I wanted a garden if we could find the right venue, and I wanted the decorations to complement it. If we eventually chose an indoor space, I wanted the same feeling of warmth and intimacy to carry through. Most of all, I wanted something that felt like us. I could picture the day without having to force myself into the picture. That settled it. I selected the second vendor’s page and copied the link into my message to Anna. Event decor: Vendor Two. I added a few of my favourite reference pictures and a short note explaining that I preferred their garden setups, natural greenery, soft lighting, and intimate table arrangements. I also made a mental note that we would need to discuss their packages, available venues,
