“My mother?”

The words barely left my mouth.

She stood beside Darius, surrounded by warriors who carried the Moonborn symbol.

For one terrible second, I could not move.

My mother looked at me.

Her eyes were filled with tears.

I stepped forward.

“What are you doing with him?”

“She came to me willingly.”
