Nothing Changed

For a brief moment, Kaya felt like every single thing around her had frozen, as soon as those extremely pale blue eyes came in contact with her golden ones. Her heart dropped to its lowest beating. She wanted to tear her eyes away from his, but didn't know why she was still looking into those piercing azure eyes.

But Kaya immediately snapped back into reality and darted her eyes away from his. She looked at her uncle Damien and passed him a smile. She walked towards them, making sure to not look at him. She herself didn't know why she was trying to ignore him when now it was quite impossible to do when they were going to live under the same roof.

Kaya extended the tray of soft drinks to her uncle. Damien grabbed one glass and patted her head.

"Thank you," he said, smiling. She returned the smile and then turned to face Leo. Her smile widened more by watching him. Leo was also beaming at her. She herself grabbed a glass of his favourite soft drink and extended it towards him.
