Mag-log in~ Aria's POV ~
"Hey Lucian, you're back," Callista's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I quickly stepped away from his arms, but that didn't stop me from staring deep into his eyes.
His eyes were enchanting. Staring deep into them, felt like I was staring into the ocean.
Thorne
RavenLucianHow could these three monsters be so handsome, like demigods? They were all monsters, but yet they could pass as models.
"I thought you weren't resuming this semester," Callista said, and he smiled.
Gosh! His smile was so seductive, just like his blue eyes, and those dimples of his were almost sweeping me off my feet.
He got the height, handsome face, seductive eyes and also captivating dimples—how could he have everything in one full package?
"You know me. I like breaking the rules," he replied with a bad boy smirk, and I couldn't help but smile too.
Callista pulled me closer, her arm slung over my shoulder. It had become her daily ritual to always do that. Maybe it’s because we were the same height.
"This is Aria, my new best friend," she introduced.
"So your name is Aria? What's a human girl doing in our school?" he asked with a grin.
Can he just stop smiling? He’s making my brain fly out the window.
"Say something, Aria," Callista nudged me, but I had nothing to say. I didn’t know why I was here in the first place.
"Well…" I began, but with his eyes fixed on me, the words just wouldn’t come out.
What am I even going to say? That I’m a human girl who was bundled into a car and dumped in a school full of monsters by her mom?
"Anyways, it's nice meeting you, Aria. I'm Lucian," he introduced, stretching forth his hand for a shake.
Does he seriously want to shake me? My heart fluttered with every smile that spread across his lips.
"I'm an Incubus," he added, and that stopped me from shaking hands with him.
He's an Incubus?
No wonder he's so seductive. I wouldn’t want to be seduced and end up giving my virginity to a total stranger.
Yeah.
I'm still a virgin.
I'm a girl who fights with every boy in her class, and that has left me single—not like I care—but with Thorne, Raven, and Lucian, I'm starting to think differently.
Stop it, Aria! I scolded myself inwardly, snapping out of the thought.
I'm just attracted to them because they are incredibly handsome, nothing else but that. I nodded my head.
"Are you going to leave Lucian’s hand hanging in the air?" Callista asked.
My eyes fell on him, and he smiled again like he had no problems to worry about. What was I even saying? He’s a freaking incubus, and he could get anything he wants. Unlike me—a human who has to work her butt off for everything.
I cleared my throat and looked away from him, ignoring his hand that was still hanging in the air.
"Where's my class?" I asked.
"Aria Nightshade," someone called my name from behind. I spun around to see Ms. Hellcat smiling at me.
If I was given a gun, I’d have blown her brain off. She’s the root of my problems for accepting me into a school for monsters.
"May I have your attention, please?" she smiled, adjusting the glasses on her nose.
I let out a sigh before walking up to her, and she led me into an empty class. I wasn’t expecting anyone here when I am the only human in this monstrous school.
"How's your roommate? I gave you the best roommate, right?" she smiled as if she was hoping I would thank her for it.
"What happened last night?" I demanded.
Despite Thorne, Raven, and Lucian invading my thoughts, I still haven’t forgotten about the accident from last night.
"What are you talking about, Aria?"
"Don't play games with me, Ms. Hellcat!" I snapped at her. "I managed to escape this school last night and—"
"You tried to escape?" she cut in with a frown. "Do you know the precautions of leaving the premises of this school without asking me first?" she asked, her frown returning again, but it didn’t even take up to a second before she smiled again.
"I’ll let it slide since you’re new and still unfamiliar with the rules," she beamed. "For now, I’ll be your teacher. So shall we begin our first class?" She gestured toward a table and chair—the only ones in the classroom.
I glanced at it, without thinking, I kicked it away.
"I want answers, and I want them now!" I snarled.
"What answers are you looking for?"
"Answers about last night. I'm not daft, and I can remember every single event in my life. Last night I was in an accident, and waking up this morning, I discovered that I didn't sustain any scratch from the accident, like it never happened. Do you mind explaining that to me?" I asked, my arms wrapped around my chest, my eyes locked on hers as I waited for answers.
She went silent for what felt like an eternity before she spoke.
"Are you sure you weren’t dreaming?"
"I wasn’t dreaming!" I snapped. "The accident really happened. I wouldn’t say something I didn’t experience!"
I was sure these monsters would be hearing my voice since they have great sense of hearing, but that didn’t matter now.
I just wanted to know why I am still alive after the horrible accident.
"If you’re really confident that you’re not dreaming, I’m going to give you permission to go out of Eclipse Academy just to find out if the accident you claimed happened really happened," she smiled.
I clenched my fists. I didn’t even try to hide the hatred I felt toward her.
"Fine. I’ll go to the accident site, and if it turns out I’m right, you’re going to call my mom and tell her the truth about this school," I stated.
"And what if it turns out that you were only dreaming and the accident never happened? What’ll you do then?" she asked, her smiling face annoying as always.
"I’m a hundred percent sure of what I’m saying. I know the difference between dreams and reality."
"Alright then. You have my permission to go outside of Eclipse Academy. You know your way around here, right?" she asked with a smile.
I glared at her and walked away. I stepped out of the school building, and as I headed toward the gate, I could feel someone watching me.
Turning around, I saw no one.
My full eyebrows knitted together before I finally stepped out of the school premises.
The accident really happened, so there had to be proof that it actually happened—like shattered glass, the truck, maybe even that weird man from last night. There should be people talking about him.
Arriving at the spot where the accident had happened, I stopped in my tracks, shocked by what I had seen.
There was no shattered glass, nor the truck. It’s impossible for the huge truck to have been moved away so easily.
The road was clear and spotless, and it left me so confused, because I was in my right state of mind when the accident happened.
I spotted a passerby and quickly rushed to her. "Did any accident happen here last night?" I asked, and she gave me a weird look before answering.
"No accident happened. It rained heavily all through the night, but despite that, no accidents occurred," she walked away from me immediately.
I staggered, nearly dropping to the ground.
What was happening?
Why didn’t anyone except me know that the accident had happened?
It wasn’t a dream.
It couldn’t be a dream.
The accident clearly happened, but no one would believe me when I didn’t have a single scratch on my body as prove.
A new resolution sparked inside me.
I needed to find out why the accident felt erased. I needed to uncover what this town truly was.
And maybe, just maybe, figure out if I am human or not. And why this town seems to have a connection with me.

- Aria's POV ~After I left Raven and Thorne unconscious and barely breathing, my next target was their fathers. I wasn't going to spare them. I'd kill them the same way they killed my parents.I halted when I was only a few feet away from Alistair’s mansion. I had chosen him first because I planned to deal with Magnus in a way he would never expect.Magnus wasn’t just going to pay for killing my mother, he would pay for every ounce of suffering and torture he put me through. I wasn’t afraid of them anymore. Not now that I had grown stronger—stronger than they ever imagined. My fists clenched as I strode toward the mansion gate. But before I could reach it, something struck my face.A stone. When I snapped my head in the direction from which the stone had come, I saw Ryker standing behind a tree, signaling for me to come over.My eyebrows furrowed at his sudden appearance. After he ditched me at the eatery, I hadn't seen him until now.He gestured again with his eyes, urging me closer
~ Thorne's POV ~I woke up with searing pain tearing through my neck. My vision swam as I forced my eyes open, the world spinning in and out of focus. For a moment, I had no idea where I was. The last thing I remembered was Aria... her rage, her strength, and nearly beating me to death before everything went black. The whole scenario happened in the woods, so why did I suddenly find myself in an old empty room? Did Aria perhaps bring me here?Did she calm down and regret what she did to me? Was that why she brought me here? These thoughts swirled through my mind, a small smile touching my lips, but it faded when the door creaked open and Lucian entered."Lucian?" I murmured, stunned to see him. I was expecting Aria, not him."Why are you looking at me like you just saw a ghost?" he asked as he finally approached me."What are you doing here?" The words slipped out before I could stop myself, probably the dumbest question I could’ve asked."You should be thanking me... not asking quest
~ Aria's POV ~"What are you doing here, Raven?" Thorne asked, his hands tucked into the pockets of his shorts.I used to admire the way he did that, so casual, so effortless. Back then, it made my heart flutter. Not anymore. Now, all I felt was hatred. Hatred for the boy who had nearly sent me to my death."Didn't I tell you Skylight wasn't the one who murdered Nyx?" Raven said sharply.Thorne let out a bitter chuckle. There was no humor in it… only venom. "How long will you continue to side with that murderer?" he seethed.Raven grabbed him by the collar, fury blazing in his eyes. "You need to wake up from your delusion, Thorne! Skylight is innocent!""Say whatever you want," Thorne snapped back, shoving him away. "She clearly told me herself that she murdered Nyx. She left evidence on the wall that she killed my sister!"Evidence? My chest tightened.Had I been framed… just so Thorne would believe I murdered Nyx?"She’s missing from the dungeon my father locked her in," Thorne cont
~ Aria's POV ~"What did you just say?" I asked, my eyes widened in shock, as I stared at the boy who I thought was now my ally."I'm sorry... everything I had said to you from the day we met were all lies. I knew your parents. I was friends with them... I watched you grow in your mother's womb, that's how I was able to know your name was Rowena... that's how I was able to save your life, because when I went to see your parents after a long time, I saw you unconscious under the bed," Lucian said.My head spun as I tried to process his words, to force my mind to make sense of them. He knew.He fucking knew my parents were dead, and yet he never said a word. He watched me cling to hope, watched me desperately wish to see them again, and still pretended he didn’t know what had happened to them.Hot, bitter tears spilled from my eyes as I stared at Lucian. Everything he had ever done was built on lies, and I had been stupid enough to believe every word he said."I’m sorry..."I slapped hi
~ Aria's POV ~I screamed as I jolted awake, gasping desperately for air, my chest heaving as my entire body trembled from what I had just witnessed."Nooooo! Noooooo!! Noooooo!!!" I screamed again, my voice breaking as I squeezed my eyes shut, too terrified to open them, too afraid of what reality might show me."Aria."I heard my foster mom’s voice, shaky and panicked. "Aria, are you okay?" Her hands tapped my body gently, urgently, as if afraid I might disappear if she stopped touching me.My eyes slowly opened, and I realized where I was. I was back in Sybille's house."Aria," my mom whispered as she caressed my face.I looked at her, and thick, burning tears spilled from my eyes without warning."Mom," I whispered weakly, my voice barely holding together as my tears continued to fall."I’m here, Aria. I’m here," she said softly, wiping my tears with trembling fingers. "Why did you suddenly lose consciousness earlier?"She took a breath, steadying herself. "You were talking to Luc
~ Aria's POV ~I walked toward the cottage as confusion gnawed at me. My steps slowed when recognition hit—I was staring at the very cottage my parents used to live in. I had seen it countless times in my dreams, where either my mom or dad would always place me inside a woven basket. I never knew it was hidden deep within a forest. As I walked closer to the cottage, I heard the cry of a baby, a cry that sounded so much like mine. I pushed the door open, my breath hitching as I stepped inside. There, in the center of the cottage, was a woven basket… and inside it lay my infant self, crying softly. My brows furrowed. I just couldn't understand why I was suddenly seeing my younger self. Was this a trance or a dream? It couldn't possibly be a dream because I was talking to Lucian and Raven just now. A trance? Is that even possible?I tried to go closer to my infant self, and that's when the door of the cottage was pushed open. I turned around to see my mom. For the first time in my life,
