Vivian's POV

It wasn’t easy discovering Alyssa’s secret. But ever since she’d returned, things hadn’t felt right. I’d been paying the guards to slip wolfsbane into her food so that when she arrived to find her mate, she wouldn’t be able to shift and outshine my Freya. I knew something was wrong the moment she shifted into that blasted wolf.

If she’d never been able to shift, she wouldn’t have been so arrogant, she wouldn’t have beaten Taylor in the arena, and all my plans wouldn’t have gone to hell! Something went wrong in that camp, and I had been determined to find out what it was.

Under the guise of night and with a cloak wrapped securely around me, I made my way to the Red Maple Camp, the disgusting place filled with criminals and animals. The smell alone was offending me, but I braved it as I looked for the prison manager.

He seemed surprised to see me, but as I glared at him, his expression became one of fear, and he stumbled forward on his hands and knees.

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 93

Alyssa's POVI remembered Kai’s voice, I remembered the feeling when I heard it and when I realised that he’d come for me. I had never felt anything like it, like my whole world could depend on a singular person, that I could trust someone other than the few, careful friendships I’d constructed over the years. I hadn’t known Kai for as long as I’d known Nolan, but this feeling was different to how I felt about Nolan. Nolan was a friend, I appreciated him, but I wasn’t looking in the crowd for him, I wasn’t waiting to hear his voice or wondering when the next time I’d see him would be. For Kai, I did.Maybe the pain from my imprisonment was finally getting to me mentally. I had no idea what Kai was doing with the guard that had been tormenting me as I lay on the floor of the cell with no strength to pull myself into a seated position. Slowly, I closed my eyes for a moment and took deep breaths, trying to dispel the pain. I think the adrenaline from the fight for survival had stopped m

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 92

Alyssa's POVI was right to fear the footsteps that came for me after my dream. It was my guard, I still didn’t know his name, and to be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure that I wanted to know. It was better to think of him as a monster than someone who wanted to do these horrible things to me. His laughter was vile, and the familiar whip was there in his hands. He was used to me cowering in the corner by now, haunted by the memories of the past and the pain I knew he was going ot inflict, but this time I stood tall. I glared at him with a ferocity I didn’t think I possessed. For a moment, he seemed confused as to why I was doing this. He narrowed his eyes and tilted his head before a sadistic smile was cast onto his face.“Planning to put up a fight this time, mutt?” He taunted as he stepped forward, unlocked my door and welcomed himself into my cell, “Well, isn’t this a change to our usual afternoons?”I didn’t want to answer him. He didn’t deserve an answer. I just glared at him, w

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 91

Kai's POVWe couldn’t do anything more to Alpha Evan, even if I wanted to. As much as he had betrayed us, betrayed Alyssa, there was someone a lot more powerful leading this game of chess. For once, I didn’t argue with Alexander, didn’t bring up the fact that it was his mother who was making Alyssa suffer, because even if he was in love with Alyssa like I was, she was still his mother, and I didn’t want to test his loyalty at a time like this.“I just don’t understand what my mother would achieve by backing Vivian with something like this,” Alexander murmured to himself more than me.I didn’t reply to him; I had bigger things to worry about than trying to figure out the viperous mind of my stepmother.“If your mother is behind this, then we need to get Alyss out of that cell. Who knows what’s happening to her down there?” I stated gruffly, trying not to let my emotions take over again, even though a swell of rage was beginning to build once again in my stomach. We picked up our pace t

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 90

Alyssa's POVI think I was dreaming, or maybe I was remembering, but everything felt so numb and dark. I couldn’t hear Carys either, not with whatever they were using to torture me coursing through my system. When I finally closed my eyes, I wasn’t too sure when, but I felt nothing. That’s when the dream happened.I was lying under a tree at home. Sure, leaves and trees and bushes surrounded the Ice Heart Pack, but this one was different. This was where mother and I lay when something was either troubling us or we just wanted some mother/daughter time. I pressed my hand to the rough bark of the tree and smiled. It felt like my mother was right there with me.Then the next moment she was.She was just as beautiful as I remembered. When she grew ill, her hair lost its lustre. Her eyes lost their shine. Her smile lost its sparkle. But I still thought that my mother was the most amazing and beautiful woman in the world. And there she was in front of me, looking as healthy as she was befor

Kai's POVIt took everything in my power not to lunge for the traitorous Alpha and rip out his throat. He had the decency not to make eye contact with me. In fact, he kept his head bent low. Some might have thought it was out of respect for the royals in the room, but I knew it was out of shame. For whatever reason, he had betrayed us, and betrayal wasn’t something I took lightly. Father dismissed the witnesses first and offered them a guard to escort them back to their rooms. Then, father dismissed his sons, barely giving us a second glance as he waved his hand, looking stressed. Good. I hoped he had nightmares about this decision.I opened my mouth to say something, to argue more, but Alex grabbed me by the arm and hauled me out of our father’s office. I almost fought him, ready to let Carter out to tear my brother a new one, but once we were far enough away from the office, Alex sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.“Fuck. That was our chance to get Alyssa out,” He murmured

  • Torn Between The Alpha Princes   Chapter 88

Alexander's POVThe room suddenly became more intense as witnesses were called. My mother requested Luna Vivian and some doctor who had been brought from the Red Maple Camp. Supposedly, he was a witness to Alyssa’s disappearance. On the other hand, we requested Alpha Evan, telling him that it was time to reveal what Vivian had done and what she planned to do to Alpha Henry of the Ice Heart Pack.Everyone was quiet, even Kai, who was still glaring daggers at my mother. We were instructed by our father not to let our wolves out, so that there would be no intimidation for either party. However, I could feel Caspian growling beneath my skin, begging to be let out to find Alyssa and protect her. The sinking feeling in my stomach was still there, but I tried to convince myself that maybe the cells were the safest place she could be at the moment. Then why did I still feel so uneasy?Once we were all gathered, a servant locked the door so that none of us could run or somehow manipulate thing
