Chapter Seven – Twin Mates

Ella's POV

I left Aiden with the Alpha and went to the toilet to pour water on me, my body has been burning for some time now. My wolf seems to be unrest, Lea for some reason has been spurting nonsense about our mate. Even when Aiden is right by my side.

I guess it is because the air feels kind of odd, not like it used to be thirteen years back when I had my parents still alive, in the pack and my best friend Jayden too, all of them are not here now. The Alpha said he was on a business trip and I can't wait to meet him. That made me keep looking out at the sea of faces for when he would return.

I guess not everything goes as you expected. Life is not a dream after all.

I stepped back into the grand hall of the mansion, the soft glow of chandeliers cast a warm ambiance over the room. I look at the place, it sure changes. Just then I felt a pang in my chest, then it started to beat fast like a drum beaten in a disco song. The scent of sandalwood and the subtle undertone of pine filled the air, mingling with the anticipation that pulsed within me.

I walked through the crowd, ignoring people calling me, as I followed the scent and Lea's trembling voice filled my head.

"Mate.. our mate..find....search.. for him. I'll transform.... I can't wait any longer."

My breathing skips as I let my nose lead the way. "Mate, Lea what are you talking about, we've met Aiden already. "

"Not him....not Aiden another...

. there's another..."

"Another mate? Lea, you can't be serious."

"He's close... He's here." Lea muttered.

And then, he appeared.

The one I've always been yearning to see all these years locked up in the BloodMoon pack. The one I've loved since when I was a kid.

There he was, Jayden. The guy that we've prayed to be our mate. He walked through the double doors at the opposite end of the hall, his eyes scanning the crowd until they found mine. He was uneasy like me. But I can see him calm when he sees me. Time seemed to stand still as our gazes locked, the electric connection between us igniting like a spark in the air.

Without hesitation, I hurried towards him, my heart racing with a mix of disbelief and excitement. Jayden's steps quickened as well, closing the distance between us in determined strides. And then, we were in each other's arms, holding on tightly as if the world around us ceased to exist.

I can't believe it? Jayden is my mate? And what about Aiden? Are they both my mates? Is this even possible? Or did I miss him that much to think we're mates?

"Ell..Ella..." He whispered into my ears. "I can't believe it's you."

"Jay," I whispered, my voice barely audible in the hushed hall. "It's really you. I can't believe it's you." I squeeze him tight.

He pulled back slightly, his hands cradling my face as he looked into my eyes, his own filled with a blend of relief and joy. "Ella," he murmured, his voice tinged with a husky intensity. "I never thought I'd see you again. I've been searching for you all these years."

A swell of emotions threatened to overwhelm me as tears welled up in my eyes. We had been torn apart that day. And it's a dream come true that I'm here. And now, we had found our way back to each other.

"I can't believe it's you," I confessed, my voice catching with emotion, I can't get my words straight. "I've missed you more than words can express."

A soft smile played at the corners of his lips, his thumb brushing away a stray tear. "And I missed you too, Ella," he replied, his voice filled with sincerity. "Not a day went by that I didn't think of you, wonder where you were and if you were safe."

As we stood there, caught in the embrace of our long-lost connection, I couldn't help but take in the sight of Jayden before me. The boy I had once known had transformed into a strong and confident man, his presence exuding a sense of quiet power.

"You've grown into someone incredible," I smiled, my voice filled with awe. "Are you even the same Jay, I remember?" I asked playfully. He is more handsome, well built and Strong. I can't tell him and Aiden who is bigger? They always look alike, but unlike Aiden is always smiling, showing his dimple cheek, which I loved.

A flicker of pride shone in his eyes, his fingers entwined with mine. "Same goes to you, Ella," he replied, his voice filled with admiration. "You have grown into a beautiful lady, more radiant than ever, inside and out."

We stood in the midst of the grand hall, the mate bond between us growing stronger with every touch. It was as if our souls recognized one another, craving the connection that had been lost for far too long.

"Jay, I've yearned for this moment everyday in the pack," I admitted, my voice trembling with vulnerability. "To be reunited with you feels like finding the missing piece of my heart."

He held me closer, his grip firm and reassuring. "I am a missing piece. And the moon goddess answered our prayer. I've longed for it too, Ella," he confessed, his voice laced with a mixture of longing and tenderness. "I never stopped searching for you, hoping that fate would bring us back together, I'm jealous that Aiden was the one to find you."

"Who found me is not what matters... What..." I chuckled and Jay cut me off before I finished putting a hand down his hair.

"Yeah, what matters the most is you are here now. Safe and sound. And I'm grateful to Aiden for bringing back my best friend and mate." Jay finished his deep blue eyes glowed.

In that moment, I realised that our paths had never truly diverged. Even when we were. Apart, our hearts were yearning for each other. Our bond had remained unbreakable, spanning the years and the distance that had separated us. We were destined to find our way back to each other.

...

I sat alone at one of the tables in the grand hall, the events of the past few minutes still sinking in. My heart raced with a mix of excitement and apprehension. Jayden had left to give his report to Alpha Brian, completely unaware that Aiden was also my mate. The situation felt both thrilling and nerve-wracking. The idea of having multiple mates was something unheard of, and I couldn't help but wonder how they would react when they found out.

Lost in my thoughts, I absentmindedly traced circles on the table with my index finger, a small smile playing at the corners of my lips. The weight of the world seemed to lift off my shoulders as the realisation settled in. I had finally escaped from the heartless Alpha River and the BloodMoon pack, and now, I had found my way back to my family, my pack, my friends. I feel complete and at ease. The uneasiness before was because of Jay being my mate too.

"This is just super nice, right El" Lea squealed deep within me.

"I know right." I nodded to myself foolishly.

"It's like going from hell to heaven!" She jumped up and down. She was overjoyed with the fact of having two mates.

She boasted and bragged about being unique and whatsoever! But it sure is nice, to have both your childhood friends as mates. Is this some kind of romance novel or something.

"Yeah." I answered.

"But I'm a little nervous and worried, you know... How is this even possible?"

"You are such a killjoy! And worrywart, it's all good." She was convinced but there was still a nagging worry in the back of my mind. Would Jayden accept Aiden as his mate? Would Aiden be okay sharing me with Jayden? The concept of multiple mates was uncharted territory, and I couldn't predict how they would react to this unexpected twist of fate.

I pondered over these thoughts, as Lea keeps stirring with joy within me, her comforting presence is calming. She tries her best to calm me. "Trust in the bond, El, It will guide us through this. Both our mates love us, we will find a way to this new path together." Her voice echoed in my mind, soothing my fears.

I took a deep breath, allowing Lea's words to wash over me. She was right. The mate bond was a powerful force, connecting us in ways beyond our understanding. I had to trust that it would lead us to a resolution that worked for all of us.

Just then, the double doors at the end of the hall swung open, and Jayden walked back into the room, his gaze searching for me. A mixture of relief and joy washed over me as our eyes met, and he made his way towards me, a wide smile lighting up his face.

"Ella," he called out, his voice filled with warmth. "I've missed you."

I stood up, my heart swelling with love for this man who had been by my side even when we were kids. "Jay," I replied, unable to contain my happiness. "I missed you too."

He reached me, wrapping his arms around me in a tight embrace. The familiar scent of his cologne enveloped me, bringing back memories of our shared past. At that moment, I felt safe and loved.

We pulled back slightly, our eyes locked, and I couldn't help but ask the question that had been weighing on my mind. "Jay, there's something I need to tell you," I began, my voice tinged with nervousness.

His brow furrowed slightly, concerned replacing the joy in his eyes. "What is it, El? Is everything okay?"

I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "Jay, you're not the only one. I mean ... Umm... what I want to said is, ummm... Aide... he

is ..."
