Back at the Lynx estate

The estate echoed with laughter, but none of it reached Ray’s soul.

From the grand marble staircase, Mrs. Lynx descended in a shimmering emerald gown, her heels tapping a steady rhythm against the polished floor. The chandelier overhead sparkled like a thousand truths withheld. She clasped her hands together in triumph and looked around the crowded room.

“Everyone!” she called out with pride. “Tonight, we celebrate the engagement of my son, Ray Lynx, to the beautiful Jacqueline," she said with a broad smile while holding a cup of wine.

Thunderous applause followed.

Jacqueline stepped into view in a dazzling silver dress that hugged her figure like a secret weapon. Her eyes sparkled with victory as she walked toward Ray, extending her hand. He took it automatically, numb, hollow, his heart still buried beneath the weight of the woman he had lost Maya.

Maya, whose memory haunted him more vividly than Jacqueline’s touch.

The sun was setting on the edge of the same cliff where everything had changed.Ray had asked Maya to meet him there. When she arrived, he was standing quietly, holding something in his hand — a small velvet box.“No more secrets,” he said. “No more ghosts. Just you, me, and the truth we’ve bled for.”He dropped to one knee.“Maya Marie Amira Lynx… will you let me love you the right way this time?”Tears filled her eyes.“No cliff will ever break us again,” she whispered, and held out her hand. The ring, silver, simple, and shaped like a phoenix slid onto her finger.Back at the Lynx Enterprises tower, Maya returned not just as a lady, but as its resurrected heartbeat.Jacqueline’s fake contracts were shredded. Corrupt board members were removed. A new team was assembled people Maya trusted: livingstone, Aiden, and Helena, a fierce attorney who had fought alongside her.The mission was clear:Rebuild with integrity. Dominate with compassion.Under Maya’s lead, the company shifted fo

Mrs. Lynx sat alone in her bedroom, staring at a wedding photo of Ray and Maya from five years ago.“She’s back,” she whispered. Her glass of wine tipped. She screamed, shattering it against the wall.“She was supposed to die!”Her assistant, terrified, quietly recorded the entire breakdown and sent it to the press.By morning, the video had 4 million views.Ray stepped up to the podium.“Today I speak not as a CEO or a public figure. But as a man who has been lied to. Manipulated. My wife, Maya Lynx, was presumed dead. But I have reason to believe she is alive… and I will not stop until she is home.”Gasps.Reporters screamed questions.Ray raised his hand. “To those who tried to bury her, I'm coming for you. And this time, no one will protect you.”Alone in a holding cell, Jacqueline spiraled. She scratched Maya’s name into the wall over and over, laughing, crying, singing lullabies.“She’s not real,” she whispered. “She’s just a shadow. A ghost.”But when the guard called her for r

Jacqueline couldn’t sleep.Every night, she woke up gasping, sure she had seen Maya’s face in the window. Every reflection seemed to mock her. Every whisper sounded like footsteps coming back from the grave. She snapped at the wedding planner. Canceled the flower order. Screamed at her dressmaker.“You don’t understand,” she told Mrs. Lynx over the phone. “She’s haunting me. I don’t know if she’s alive or I’m going crazy!”“Then let’s kill her properly this time, even if she is not Maya and we suspect she is. She is still a treat to us” Mrs. Lynx replied coldly. “I’ll handle it.”Ray had finally done it.He had swiped Jacqueline’s phone while she was sleeping, copied encrypted messages, and sent them to Rockson to decrypt. What they found stunned him: photos of Maya at the hospital. Conversations with a man named rockson. Mentions of “the body” and “Sandra.”Ray stood on the edge of the cliff the next morning, holding the phone in one hand and Maya’s old bracelet in the other. His voi

“Dr. Liticia,” the receptionist said, glancing at the new hire folder. “Welcome to Lynx Hospital. You’ll be stationed in the grief and trauma unit on the twelfth floor. You report directly to the Head Psychiatrist… Dr. Raymond Lynx.”Liticia smiled slightly. It was working. She took the ID badge, her photo beneath her alias, and walked into the very building once built with Maya’s help. Her mind raced with details Jacqueline’s name was now on multiple donation plaques, and Mrs. Lynx had been elevated to chairwoman of the board. They took everything, she thought. And now I’ll take it back for the girl who was being betrayed Ray wasn’t sure what drew him to the new counselor. She introduced herself as Dora Myles, and everything about her seemed professional. Quiet. Composed. But there was something in her voice. The way she moved. Her presence stirred emotions he hadn’t allowed himself to feel since Maya vanished. He found excuses to walk past her office. To talk to her during coffee b

Back at the mansion, Jacqueline had begun to unravel. Her nightmares intensified Maya standing at the altar instead of her. Maya wearing her dress. Maya bleeding… but alive.Ray barely looked at her anymore. Even their wedding planner noticed the tension.“Should we postpone?” the planner asked gently.“No!” Jacqueline snapped. “We move forward. Full speed. I want this wedding to happen. I want to be his wife. Legally.”“Understood,” the planner said, taken aback.Jacqueline locked herself in her room that night and pulled out the pregnancy test. It was fake. A lie they used to trap Ray.And the lie was eating her alive.Unbeknownst to everyone, Ray had hired a private investigator named Livingstone, a former journalist fired for digging too deeply.Livingstone had found something about a village healer who remembered treating a woman pulled from the river. No name. No memory. But her description didn't match Maya.Ray, still curious, booked a trip. Secret. No one could know.He didn’
