Summer’s POV
I was taken aback seeing Trey’s eyes hadn’t left me since I walked in, I sluggishly walked towards my seat, beside my mother while hoping the ground would open up and swallow me. I could feel every gaze on me as I buried my gaze to my lap.
“Aren’t you going to at least introduce yourself?” My mother asked, I could feel a threatening tone in her words and her side glare. Swallowing hard, I looked up, forcing a smile and staring at the man seated at the beginning of the dining table, his gaze was firm and held no hint of kindness as they noted into mine.
“I’m Summer." I waved shyly before looking down at my lap again, my heart racing as my palms became sweaty and my head felt like it was going to explode from the shyness that swallowed me.
“Oh she’s like that, always acting weird, let’s forget about that for now, she’ll come around.” Mother explained, caressing her husband's hand but he didn’t seem to like it.
“She needs to learn how to be more welcoming, especially now that she’s a part of the family.” He spoke. “It’s quite rare for someone like you to get this opportunity so be grateful.”
I clenched my jaw, holding back the disgust bubbling up in me, I hated how condescending his tone was, it’s not like I asked for any of this.
Peeking up at Trey, I noticed how silently he hated it, but anger was deep-seated in his eyes, a small frown on his lips yet he said nothing. His brother saying closer to their father remained silent, now that o noticed it, he was very quiet and hadn’t said a word or even touched his food.
I recall seeing him in school a few times but unlike Trey he seemed to be more reserved and secluded himself from others.
“Oh, the salad.” I heard my mom panic slightly, turning to me she forced a smile on her lips, trying to give the impression of a perfect mother. “Would you mind getting it from the kitchen?” she asked if i had any option of defying her request. I scooted my chair back and walked towards the kitchen.
“I’ll go help her.” i heard Trey say and in that moment i felt even more frustrated. I rolled my eyes, letting out a burdened sigh. I saw the salad sitting on the kitchen islans in a glass bowl. Reaching out for the bowl, i felt his body lean against mine from behind, his hand gently brush againt mine. I immediately retracted my hand from the bowl and looked up at him with widened eyes.
“W-what are you doing?” I stuttered, looking anywhere but at him while keeping my distance from him.
“Came to help you out.” He shrugged, his eyes boring into mine, I could tell he was also checking me out, making me feel even more insecure. “Looks like we meet by an annoying coincidence.” A smirk trailed on his lips.
My palms became sweaty, my heartbeat even louder as I swallowed harder. “I should get going.” I approached the salad bowl but he stood ri go t in front of me, blocking my path, I stopped, looked up and turned my gaze almost immediately. “What we talked about earlier, I don’t think we can go through with it,” I said with a low serious tone, fiddling with my fingers shyly.
I glanced up at him again, his cocky expression had changed for a second, he put on a cold face, eyes holdong no emotions as he stared at me. “Why is that?”
“Well, things happened.” I pointed to the dining room. “I don’t want any complications in my life and-“
“Isn’t that a selfish reason?” He interupted almost immediately. “I highly doubt that they would be together forever, my father is quite indescicive and although what we plan on doing is fake so there’s nothing to worry about.” He tried convincing me but a part of me was nervous about this.
“Think about what the whole school would say if they found out that we are now step siblings.” I pointed out.
“And how would they find out?” Trey cocked his head to the side, frowning slightly.
I pursed my lips lightly. “Rumors fly quite fast, I just don’t want any trouble, I already have enough on my table.” I claimed, trying to hide my worry but he could easily sniff it out, he trapped me between the island with his hands by the side.
“Leave that for me to decide, you have no opinion once you agreed to this Summer.” There wasn’t a hint of defiance in his eyes, they were stern and I could tell he meant every word he was saying.
He stared at me, jaw clenched and eyes softened. “If you don’t want everything to disrupt into chaos, then you better brittle your tongue so this wouldn’t get out okay darling?” He stared down at my lips, gently caressing his hand on my lower lip, not taking his eyes off then.
“If I want something done, then it must be done at all costs, no compromising.” He whispered, his fresh minty breath brushing the tip of my nose. His words were firm and I was scared to admit that I couldn’t defy him. How could I defy the popular guy in my school? He could literally break me and forcibly bend me to his will, right from that moment, the day at the rooftop, I didn’t have any options, it was either I do it or I don't!
I turned to walk away, completely forgetting about the salad , my fingers tightened into a fit, trying to hold myself together.
He grabbed my arm, yanking me back before I could step away. “Trey…”
He didn’t let me finish, his lips crashed against mine, it was like he was claiming me, for a moment I was shocked and breathless, I didn’t know what to do. My body froze, I could fight him off or complain as his tongue ventured around my mouth.
“What the hell are you two doing?” A voice echoed in the kitchen.
I jerked away turning around with wide eyes.
I hope you enjoy this chapter and the rest to come, drop comments as they really mean a lot to me🥰
Summer’s PovWalking through the hallways I could feel every gaze on me, their eyes boring into me like they were going to burn out my skin for being with the most popular guy in school.Biting my lower lip I picked my steps, about to take a turn, someone pulled me into the restroom.I gasped, heart racing and trying to understand what was going on, two familiar feet stood before me, peering my gaze up at, I caught sight of Aubrey glaring down at me, her hand folded over the other as she tapped her foot impatiently.“Trying to ignore me again?” She rolled her eyes.I quickly picked myself up. “It’s really not what you think….”“Oh really? You expect me to believe that? You’re hanging out with the most popular hot guy in school and you didn’t tell me the whole gist?” She threw her hands up in the air. “I really don’t know what type of betrayal this is.”“There’s nothing going on between Trey and me.” I pointed out that even though a part of me felt like my words were a lie.“Really?” S
Summer’s povMy heart skipped a bit, I froze turning to see who it was, Trey peeked his head through the small space, smirking his lips before opening the door wider and walking in. The stranger had somehow hidden himself under the bed and I could tell he was definitely seeing a lot of mess I had tucked underneath my bed. I nervously stared at Trey.“What are you doing here?” I asked, the words sounding sharper than I intended, my lips pulled into a frown.“Dont you know of a thing called privacy?” I frowned, folding my hands on my chest while staring at him and hoping he could read the disdain in my eyes and leave.Trey’s smirk didn’t falter, I blinked. “Why are you still here?”“What’s the rush? Our parents are married now , this is literally my house.”“Not your room.” I rolled my eyes at his audacity, why did life have to make me pass through this? Why did I agree to whatever he suggested that night? Fucking idiot.“Girls will be dying to have me talk to them and you have it in a
Summer’s POV My life is over! What if he says something? Confusion set into my head.Standing by the door was my mom, her arms folded on her chest while gazing at me with a glare, “Why is it taking you so long to bring the salad?” she snarled, I couldn't tell if she had seen us or she just wasn’t willing to raise an alarm about this but I grabbed the salad and ran out of the kitchen to the dining table, not daring to make eye contact with anyone. “You had to take your time huh?” my mother said flatly, not sparing me a glance, she grabbed the bowl from me and gently placed it in the middle of the table, she continued to talk to my stepfather whom I now knew as Troy.Trey came back to his seat, and he glanced at me before burying his face in his food. “This tastes nice ma’am.”“I’m glad you’re enjoying it.” she smiled. “It’s okay to call me mom.” she added sneakily.Trey didn’t say anything and nodded his head quietly. Mom turned to Troy, curiosity in her eyes. “What about the other b

Its a good thing she knows her place now.” a girl whispered to her friend, both of them giggling as they spoke to each other, clenching my fists i remained quiet.“Ignore them Summy, they cant say it to your face okay?
