Amelia's POV
I had thought that when the blue jade eyes landed on me just as they had on all of the other staff, they would move of their own accord so it made me self-conscious and almost entranced when we both stared at each other, the silence around us thick and tense as his eyes watched me like he was observing a phenomenon that could not be possible.
His pupils dilated and I swallowed, unable to break our stare.
Elizabeth cleared her throat and from the corner of my eye, I saw her step forward and give a deep bow.
"Welcome Alpha, to our Master's home."
The rest of us followed suit, bowing and repeating her words and when I raised my head, he was still staring at me.
Pulling me behind her gently, Elizabeth smiled at him and gestured towards the large entrance doors.
"Let me show you to where the Master is waiting."
He nodded and as he walked forward, I noticed how his hands had turned into fists, his knuckles, white, and his jaw, clenched.
It made me wonder what he had seen that suddenly made him angry. Was it me? I highly doubted it.
Following behind them, I was still lost in thought about why I had felt very strange after laying eyes on the Alpha when Elizabeth dropped a step back to walk beside me and squeezed my hand gently.
"Don't get into trouble, Amelia. Be careful, okay?" She whispered and I nodded.
Nothing good could come from being stared at like that, I summed up and the other staff stopped at the entrance of the dining room, just Elizabeth and I entering after the Alpha and the two men that had come with him.
Cassius was standing beside his seat, a fake smile on his face as he gestured towards the other dining room seats.
"Welcome to my home, Alpha Damien. It is a pleasure to have you."
I wasn't even the Alpha and I could feel the insincerity of that greeting. Then again, the air was already tense the minute Damien entered the room with the two men who I was sure were werewolves too.
Unlike Damien who had a stoic face, as he nodded in response to the greeting, the two men could not hide their displeasure at being here.
It was obvious that whatever this was, it did not change the fact that Vampires and Werewolves still did not see eye to eye and perhaps would never do so.
Damien. So that was his name. Finally, I could put a name to that ridiculously handsome face.
Nodding at his men to sit, Damien sat at the same time that Cassius did and Cassius gestured for Elizabeth and me to serve the food.
Getting to work, I fought the urge to not stare at Damien as I served him, even though I could feel his eyes on me as I moved from seat to seat.
After serving the food, I served the wolves wine and filled Cassius's glass with blood.
"Would you like anything else?" Elizabeth asked and when Cassius shook his head, the two of us bowed and turned to leave until Cassius grabbed my hand.
"You stay. Beside me. Elizabeth, leave. I will send word if I need anything else."
My eyes widened and I looked at Elizabeth, my eyes begging her to not leave me here with all of these men.
Giving me a sympathetic glance, Elizabeth merely bowed deeply and left the room.
The door slamming and Cassius's grip on my head made me realize that I was indeed trapped here until my Master said so.
Releasing my hand, Cassius raised his eyebrow and I moved to stand beside him, placing me in the direct line of sight of Damien.
When I looked up, I saw that his eyes were on me again. Those blue pupils watched me lazily as if I was a movie that was hard to decipher. I hid my shaky hands behind my back and swallowed nervously as Cassius spoke.
"Again, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to make it to my home, Alpha Damien"
Damien folded his arms and smiled if that could even be called a smile because it was all shades of sarcasm.
"Thank you for having me here, Cassius."
I glanced at Cassius and saw that his face hardened at being addressed so ordinarily but he feigned a smile again and I knew that I was not the only one that felt the tension in the room.
"So, about what we had discussed over the phone before you arrived here, I have no wish to continue in this situation a tad longer. Do you?" Master glanced at me and I realized that he was trying to be cautious of what he said because I was there. I was a human, after all, and they, two powerful Lords of their species.
I didn't understand why he insisted on still having me here then if what he wanted to discuss was private but then again, Cassius always did whatever he wanted to do.
"I, too, despite what you might think, do not have any desire to keep fighting you. That is why I am here." Damien replied and the two men that followed him bristled in their seats.
They looked very unhappy to be here and I wondered which of them was the Beta between the two. Probably the one that kept glancing at Damien and back to me.
Zoning out for most of the conversation as I stared at one of the landscape portraits hanging on the wall, I froze when I heard the conversation switch to me.
"I see you got yourself a new slave," Damien said, his eyes on me again and Cassius grinned, grabbing my arm and sinking his fingers into my skin.
"Indeed. She is my personal slave. And she is such a good girl, aren't you, Amelia?"
I didn't dare answer that, especially when his fingers sank even deeper into my skin, inflicting intense pain and I bowed my head, holding in my reaction to his public torture and hating everyone in the room for speaking about me like I was an object, a property to be sold and bartered away.
"She can be shy sometimes too. Ignore her." Master Cassius added, finally releasing my arm and I sucked in a breath of relief, raising my head to see Damien staring at me, an emotion on his face that I couldn't decipher.
And then as quickly as the emotion appeared on his face, it was gone. Turning to Cassius, he raised an eyebrow.
"May I be shown to my room? I would like to retire for the evening. It has been a long trip for me and my people."
I saw Cassius frown and knew that he did not anticipate having the Alpha stay overnight.
"Alpha, I prepared just one room because I believed you would be coming alone."
"Well, then, we shall use whatever we get, Cassius," Damien assured with a tight smile and Master's frown deepened. The Alpha was still addressing him without respect.
"We are not hard to please. Besides, we are yet to speak on many things. It would be a shame to leave without addressing them. Let your slave show me to the room while you have your staff prepare rooms for my men."
Cassius's frown turned into a smirk and he looked at me.
"As you wish, Alpha Damien. Amelia, show him to his room."
I wondered what made Cassius smirk and knew that it could be nothing good.
"I do not like to be kept waiting, slave." Damien's cold and emotionless voice made me turn sharply to stare at him as he rose to his feet and I knew that this was only the beginning.
Amelia's POVI didn't know whether walking in front of Damien was such a good idea as I led him toward the room that had been prepared for him.I could feel all the hairs on my neck stand, my movements were stiff and almost uncoordinated like I didn't know where I was going. My face was hot and red and I had a strong urge to turn around to see if he was looking at me. I wanted to know what he was thinking. His voice had been so cold and emotionless as he ordered me to show him to his quarters and even though I was used to Cassius's cruelty, I didn't understand why Damien's coldness surprised me. Perhaps it was because of the way he looked, his eyes filled with a fire that Cassius lacked. And then there were the butterflies in my stomach that seemed to flutter whenever he was near. What was this feeling? And why was it happening now? Touching my forehead with the back of my hand as I stopped in front of the huge black door that led into the room the Alpha would be staying in, I tu
Amelia's POVI hated my life. I hated how powerless I was. And as I tossed and turned on the bed, naked down to my bare skin just as Cassius had ordered, I fought the tears that refused to stop falling down my cheeks and sat up on the bed, bringing my knees to my chest as I waited with dread for the door to swing open and for him to walk in, eyes filled with malicious intent. I didn't know how long I rocked back and forth on the bed waiting for the door to open but as I looked up at the gigantic clock in the room, I realized that hours had passed since I was ordered to leave his office and come here. My anxiety increased as I wondered if this was one of his mind games at work again. Was he purposely delaying to make me squirm and lose my mind to panic? I was expecting him to rush in here so that I could leave as soon as he was done with me but perhaps he had other ideas. What was wrong? Has something bad happened to him at last? Has all of my prayers finally worked? Or was it Damie
Amelia's POV After the rollercoaster night that I had, I was not very surprised when I woke up to the sound of the alarm clock almost immediately the next morning. Taking a deep breath, I was already dreading what horrors today might bring to me when I remembered what had happened in the kitchen yesterday. With Damien. The Alpha who was too handsome and had a face that could scare the living daylights out of a person if he so wished. I remembered how his hand had wrapped around my neck and how my body had come alive with fear and something else that till now I could not quite describe, how his eyes had darkened with rage as he asked me who had touched me. Slapping my forehead to stop myself from daydreaming, I quickly showered and left my room, heading to Cassius' room first like I always did every morning. As I got to the front of the door, I remembered how he had kept me in his room for hours and hadn't come back. Would he punish me today instead? Instead of drinking the b
Amelia's POVWhen I woke up this morning, I remembered that I had already been dreading what horrors today might bring to me after what had happened in the kitchen yesterday. But, never in my wildest dreams had I anticipated that the horror I would be facing today would not be from my Master but from another even scarier being. "What the fuck?" Damien yelled, standing from the chair as he looked down at his wet pants from where I had spilled wine over his clothes after looking down at himself, his eyes finally landed on me again and the blue of his eyes suddenly looked darker with rage that was barely contained. The entire room vibrated from the sound of the harsh growl that was directed at me. But I couldn't seem to move. I couldn't seem to speak. I couldn't do anything. I had fallen into shock. My eyes moved from the two wolves that had also stood up in shock to the jug as it lay on the floor from where it had dropped from my flimsy grip as I tried to explain that I didn't mean i
Amelia's POV"Please, Alpha. Please forgive her." Elizabeth started to beg again immediately after Cassius left and I gasped when she fell to her knees, pulling me down on my knees with her. I was still shaken up from the fact that not only had Cassius agreed to the punishment, but he had also left with a smile that assured me I was in deep trouble. And now it was time to face Damien who from the way he was looking at Elizabeth and me like we were being dramatic, didn't have any intentions to pardon me for my mistake. "You should leave now, miss." The one that I believed was Damien's beta said and I wanted to throw the jug at him so hard. But the last thing I needed was another reason to increase my punishment especially when I didn't even know what it was. "Please spare the girl. You should please reconsider. It was a mistake, Alpha. The child has already been through enough..." My eyes that were swollen from crying widened as I realized that she had almost spoken out of turn and
Amelia's POV"Amelia? Oh my God!" A voice screeched and I jumped from the bed, falling to the ground in panic as I opened my eyes. Where was I?What had happened?"Why are you here? And sleeping on the Alpha's bed?" The same voice that had screeched asked again and when I looked towards the door, Elena was standing there with her eyes wide in shock. It finally registered in my mind where I was. I remembered all that happened before I slept on Damien's bed.How I had thought for certain that he was going to have his way with me and had waited in terror after watching him undress and head to the bathroom and how he had shocked me beyond what I had imagined when he knelt in front of me and applied balm on my wounds and my throbbing face where Cassius had left a cut with his nail as he slapped me. The last thing I remembered was falling asleep after Damien ordered me to lie on the bed. What had happened after that? I looked down at my clothes and saw that I was still fully dressed a
Amelia's POVI walked very slowly down the hallway, my back aching and my hand itching to touch my throat to be sure that I was still alive. That I was no longer in that bathroom, drowning over and over again. My lips quivered and I winced from my aching back where Cassius had flogged me with his belt. I took a right turn and saw Elizabeth waiting for me, her eyes wide as she took in my damp hair and shaky gait and when I tried to smile, to reassure her that I was okay, it was tears that trickled down my face. She rushed towards me and held my hand, her eyes brimming with tears. "Oh, sweet girl, Elena told me that you had gone to see the Master and I wondered what would happen this time, I'm so sorry, sweetie. Come, I've prepared a very warm bath for you."I nodded, my eyes shining with gratitude and she led me gently toward her room where she had drawn a bath. Every time I entered her room, I was reminded that Cassius had given me a tiny room on purpose in this mansion. I guess I
Amelia's POV "It's been a while." The man smiled and Elena greeted him. Dr. Goodman, or Mark like he had told me several times to call him, greeted me with a smirk that closely mirrored Cassius and his eyes looked pleased as his gaze settled on me even though Elena had stepped forward to tell him why we had come. It was always the same order anyways but it didn't matter. All that mattered to me was that I was outside again and far away from the mansion even though there was nothing I could do. "We are here to get blood bags to replenish our store," Elena said and he nodded, his eyes still on me and I shifted from one foot to the other, uncomfortable from the way he was creepily staring at me. "And you? Amelia? How is Cassius treating you?" He asked with a knowing look on his face that made me feel like hauling his table lamp at his face. He knew that I was a slave and knew what Cassius did and yet, he always asked me that question without fail. I fought the urge to roll my e
