Amara POV

It has been a fortnight since Erik was banished…and I hadn’t been prepared for the fall out.

I wasn’t expecting this pain in my chest, from his absence…a bond between us to be ignited from

our marking, only then to be ripped apart.

It’s worse at night time. That’s when the nightmares come.

I wasn’t welcomed into the alpha house, not like before. If I thought I was an outcast then; I really wasn’t prepared for being even further pushed to the edges of pack society.

I wasn’t allowed to eat dinner with the family, not like before.

I was expected to attend the alpha household to attend to my duties, then go home to my new dwellings…my pack house near the monkshood farming fields that was starting to burn at my chest.

Depending on the wind direction over the past two weeks, some days I wouldn’t even dare open the windows. The smell of my own burning lungs left me feeling sick along with a hacking cough at night times that nothing seemed to cure.

The only food I ate w

Amara POV “I am the Luna here…” “Things change.” Greta continues, not heeding her cousin’s warning. “Greta, you are overstepping the mark.” Estrid continues. “They are already mates, I don’t think even you can fight the mate bond Nina.” “When I am luna, I’m going to make your life here a living l hell.” Nina takes a calculated step towards Greta, her tall height leaving the Alpha’s cousin in her shadow. “I’m the alpha’s blood Nina. Blood is thicker than water.” Greta was small but she certainly was mighty. “If anyone addresses you as the Luna Amara, I expect you to correct them.” Her eyes slowly move Greta’s onto mine, a look of disdain forcing her lips to grimace. “I wouldn’t presume to tell the pack members what to do.” I respond, holding my nerve. Nina doesn’t know a thing about me, what I’ve come from…she has no right to demand things from me. “Then I’ll make sure Erik tells them.” Nina lifts her chin, her eyes coldly flickering between Greta and mine before she sto

  • Traded to the Wolf King   Chapter 34 – Marking her territory

Amara POV Days have past since Erik lifted my house arrest and as long as I was in the company of Greta, I was granted free movement within the pack again, all but at the Snowbird Pit. But that didn’t stop me visiting the homeless girl in the alleyway each morning with food from the alpha house and dry bedding. I know he knows; that he is turning a blind eye to it. Greta has become a friend of mine but I’m not naïve, I know who her allegiance is to, and have no doubt that she is reporting back daily to him. I try and get out the front door as early as possible every morning in an attempt to avoid Nina. She was on a war path, demanding that Erik confirm a date for their wedding. But he barely spoke to her at dinner, he hardly spoke to any of us…he sits at the head of the table, eats…but his eyes are vacant…completely glazed over in a mind-link. I haven’t seen Estrid or Finn either, which means without Greta…I would struggle to get through dinner. Nina talks at people, not w

  • Traded to the Wolf King   Chapter 33 - Rawness

Erik POVEven underweight her figure was perfection, perky breasts with the sexiest nipples I have everseen. Small hips that match the petite curves of her figure, I’ve never seen a body like hers before, each and every part of her was just inviting to be obsessed over.As I continue to unapologetically marvel at her deliciousness, I notice marks that litter her skin…scars from wounds that hadn’t healed properly. Just like her wrist, still trying to heal…even now as blood mixes in the bathtub….clearly it still ached.Rage and pain grips at my chest, there is more beneath the surface with Amara, things she hasn’ttold me…things in truth I haven’t given her the opportunity to share with me.I’m quickly realising I want to know everything, and I’ve never felt that way about Nina. With anyone. I want to know what has happened to Amara, why her family have abused her. How she got the scars, who I need to harm for hurting her…who I need to kill slowly, for daring to touch her.My wolf

  • Traded to the Wolf King   Chapter 32 - More than meets the eye.

Erik POV “They laid hands on you.” My fist slams against the top of the dining table…threatening to smash the glass table top. “Only because they were scared.” “Did they not see your neck?” I grunt out, my wolf continuing to press beneath the surface. “I hid it from them, they are not to be blamed, I am.” She adamantly states out, as she sticks to her story, she was a proud little thing. I won’t drop this, I just won’t tell her that. “I don’t want you going there again.” “I won’t.” “Then we can drop this matter, eat…” I order out, her head nodding yet she refuses to look at me. I continue to watch her, the rest eating their meals…conversing amongst themselves, yet she wasn’t picking up her cutlery to eat. “Do you want it reheated?” Greta asks out, also watching Amara carefully. “No, I’m sure it’s perfect.” Amara softly smiles out, still making no attempts to eat her meal. You wouldn’t think she was the daughter of an alpha, she must be used to dinners like t

  • Traded to the Wolf King   Chapter 31 - Her passion

Erik POV “Thank you, Finn.” I reach forward, picking up her plate, serving her food. I was sat at the head of the table, Nina on my other side, Amara’s setting adjacent to her. Estrid was usually sat to my left, but Nina made it very clear she should be by my side. “Are you always this dramatic Amara?” Nina smirks out, her eyes watching for my reaction to her words. “Pardon me?” Amara coldly responds to Nina. “This dramatic, do you come from a large family. Is that what it is…you needed to create drama to gain attention?” Nina clicks her tongue disapprovingly, placing the wine glass down only to refill it. “On the contrary….” Amara face shifts, coldness being replaced as she plasters on a beaming smile, her demeanour reeking of sarcasm. “…I prefer not to be seen.” “I think, sadly, that might be the most honest thing you have said to me. What do you think Erik?” Nina quirks an eyebrow, placing her glass down and reaching out to clasp my hand which is place

  • Traded to the Wolf King   Chapter 30 - Hypnotised

Erik POV Amara has been locked away in her room for the past three days. No one has seen her, not even Greta. She’s somehow barricaded herself in, refusing even to entertain my cousin. If I wasn’t mated to her, I would let her starve to death…if it wouldn’t be affecting my wolf, I would let her rot away. Another meal, another noticeable missing spot at the table. Estrid and Finn still aren’t speaking, Greta speaks enough for all of us, and Nina makes little digs on either how I run the pack or how I am behaving since Amara has disappeared. Estrid keeps telling me the pack members are walking on eggshells around me, expecting me to blow my top at any moment; they were absolutely right. That’s how much Amara’s actions have angered me, how the regret at placing my hands on her has been infecting my daily thoughts…my dreams…festering away at me non-stop. “Still playing offended I see…” Nina mutters out under her breath as she places the wine glass to her lips. Sipping back sl
