Chapter 2 Party

Author: Perfect Timing
Everyone froze. They did not think I'd confess this quickly. Queenie stammered and tried to say something, but I stormed off. No way I was letting her hurt me again.

When I was out of their earshot, I opened up all my shopping and delivery apps, then I put down as many orders as my fingers allowed me to.

Queenie thought my silence meant I was scheming something, but when she noticed her growing balance, a grin stretched her lips wide. She texted me, 'They want you to buy them something, or your apology's not accepted. Get them some coffee.'

I sneered. 'Okay.' And I got that delivery. But the moment it hit our doors, I asked for a refund due to hygiene.

That wasn't the only one. I did it for all orders I made. The money I spent came back to me, but when I checked the user interface, I found out the account that asked for the refunds was not mine.

It was Queenie's.

I knew it. Her system could only give Queenie the money I spent. If I were to cancel my purchases or ask for refunds, the system would register the refund requests under her name to make sure things stayed balanced. It was a mandatory move to make sure Queenie's income source was justified.

Good news. This was excellent news. I nearly jumped from joy. Yep, she would have hell to pay. I spent nearly 450 grand on shopping. Once I got the items, I asked for refunds and came up with all sorts of excuses. I didn't care even if the purchase was one dollar. I asked for a refund anyway.

Underwear, snacks, pads, designer bags, houses on auction, I got everything and refunded everything.

Even so, it did not stop my heart from beating faster, like something bad was going to happen.

I was reminded of my previous life. Of how quickly my body wasted away. It was the weekend, so I went back to my villa.

The first thing that hit my eyes was a party. Queenie and Harold were holding a party at my house, and our schoolmates were huddled around them.

They noticed me and had nothing but disgust.

"Oh, you're back, Wendy." Queenie was in a custom-made dress. She put down her '82 Lafite and approached me.

"It's Harold's birthday today. He really, really wanted to have a party at the villa, so I brought him and the gang. The cellar's nearly running out. Get a few hundred more bottles for us, please."

I stared at her shining, beaming face. I froze. Yeah, clothes made the woman. And this woman had a total makeover thanks to the millions she stole from me.

No one would've expected that she was a housekeeper's daughter who wore patched-up hand-me-downs a few years ago. She came to my place with her mother.

I wondered how she managed to bind me to her.

My silence annoyed her. She pointed at me imperiously. "Well, don't just stand there. Go! I went out of my way to hold this party for Harold. If you waste my time, there will be hell to pay! And get more of that '82 Lafite. Harold loves it! And get me Blackswan's most expensive cake! The one with eighteen layers! And get me a spot at a five-star restaurant."

Wow, if the Olympics held an event for shamelessness, she'd run laps around all the other contestants.

This woman stole my money to enjoy a life of luxury, and now she wanted me to help her keep up appearances while paying nothing?

Sorry, but life did not work that way.

My dad's aura kept everyone in check. It scared them, but Harold? In his infinite foolishness, he kept on yelling at my father. "Who are you, you bastard? Not the first time I beat this bitch up! You think you can protect your loser daughter? Well, think again."Arrogance came with a price. This time, it came swiftly for Harold. My dad pulled his arm and slammed him into the ground with a suplex. It took the wind out of his lungs, and he could not get back up.The others tried to dispense justice, but the bodyguards around made them shut up. My father was shaking with rage, and he drove his shoes hard into Harold's fingers.Coldly, he said, "Not the first time you hit my daughter? My daughter? William Wood's daughter? Tell me, what happened while I was gone?"The mention of my father's name snapped everyone out of it."William Wood? But that's the CEO of Wood Group!""Whoa, he looks exactly the same as this picture!""But why'd he call himself Wendy's dad?""I mean, Queenie did

"What?"Queenie's and Helena's jaws dropped. Even Harold froze up."What? Queenie would never do that! This is a mistake!"Queenie couldn't believe what she was hearing either. She screamed at the top of her lungs, "I'm the daughter of this city's richest man! I don't need to do any cyber scams for money! Are you blind? This is a mistake!"The cop showed her the refund history that all the merchants provided, as well as her shopping app account details."These are the refunds you requested right after your spending. You did not return any item. The amount is nearly 4.5 million. We'll need you to come with us."Queenie and Helena looked at me right away. They roared at me, "You did this, didn't you? Are you mad! How dare you do this to me!"I stared at them with as innocent a look as I could muster, and I held back my laugh. It was hard doing that, you know. Nearly killed me."Do what? I'm a housekeeper's daughter. I couldn't afford 45 hundred, let alone a 4.5-million refund sca

I stared at Queenie with eyes wide as saucers. The people around us were shaken as well."Wait, Wendy's the housekeeper's daughter, and her father's Queenie's dad? Holy shit, this is drama!"The class, like me, had eyes wide as saucers. I was gaping at the mother-daughter duo. Queenie was looking back at me smugly. Patiently, she explained, "Yeah, my father sired her with the housekeeper. But the slut's mother seduced him. She's a bastard. If she'd known her place, I'd have given her a job as my servant. At least she could've survived, but no. She chose the hard way, so I must teach her a lesson."Then, she continued talking to my dad over the phone. "You have to come back, Dad. Back me up!"My father was furious. He hung up without saying a word. Queenie thought that was my dad agreeing to her plan, and she bragged to me. "See? My dad's coming home, and you're done for!"She was snarling at me fiercely, but unbeknownst to her, Helena looked like she was about to cry. She scramble

Helena was storming up to me in a huff. My father told his bodyguards to throw her out of the house and talked to all the rich people about the things she did. Now no one wanted to hire her.Still, she would not dare to confront me. Before my father left, he specifically told her to take good care of me. She thought that order made her some sort of elder to me, and that made her imperious. Authoritative.Despite being the housekeeper, she made me cook, clean, do the dishes, and finish all the chores around the house. I had enough of her, but I did not want to have a fallout, so I started living on campus.Perhaps the weak version of me made her confident, so she tried to slap me. I shoved her off. "You're angry, Mrs. Wood. Had a bad morning? I'm just a housekeeper's girl. Did I do anything to set you off?"Helena fell to the ground and gasped like she'd strained her back. Queenie slid over to her mother and gave me a vengeful glare. "Are you mad, Wendy? How dare you push my mother!

Shame Queenie and Harold had no idea. They showed off their love story on socials and posted a ton of honeymoon vlogs. One of Queenie's posts read, "Thank you for finding me among 7 billion people. Harold. Now I know what happiness is like. I can walk the sands of Bardoque Islands with my love. I can watch the aurora borealis of Northern Point. "If I wanted to sunbathe, I could get a whole cruise ship and have a vacation there. I could get a whole cabinet of limited-edition handbags and get dear Harold a big villa as our wedding gift."Harold left a loving comment. It read, "I finally knew what love was like when I saw you. I love you forever, Queenie."The classmates saw the post, and everyone grew envious."I wish a sugar mama would take a liking to me. I envy Harold.""I thought the proposal was wild enough. This is wilder. I hope I get this chance one day.""Harold's rich, but Queenie's richer. Man, he's set for life."They weren't the only ones who wanted that life. The I

I raised my head. Helena Zimmerman was back. She was the housekeeper. And my housekeeper was covered in precious items from head to toe. She could pass as a rich man's wife.Queenie lifted the hem of her skirt and approached her mother. She said cutely, "You're back early, Mom."Harold and his friends stepped aside and said hi to Helena. "Hello, Mrs. Wood."I sneered and spat a mouthful of blood. "Mrs. Wood? I had no idea my father remarried."Half a year. That was how long my father had left, and now these people were trying to steal this family's wealth.I was lying on the ground, hurt and bruised. A hint of guilt flickered in Helena's eyes, but she put on a stern mask."Do not take that attitude with me, girl. You're nothing but a housekeeper's spawn." She turned around and looked at Queenie lovingly. "Queenie, how many times must I tell you not to stoop to a slut's level. You are an heiress. Act the part. Well, you've done what you wanted to her. Now toss that little slut out
