"My wolf isn't broken, and she isn't weak. She's just been sleeping, waiting for a queen strong enough to finally set her free."

Midnight had settled over the Obsidian Fang fortress. Inside the master bedroom, Silas and Elara were sleeping peacefully, until Elara suddenly jolted awake.

A sharp gasp escaped her lips as an unbearable wave of heat swept through her body. She clutched her chest, struggling to draw a proper breath while sweat gathered along her forehead. The blankets felt suffocating, and her skin burned as though someone had poured molten silver beneath it.

"Silas!"

Her voice came out strained. She pushed herself upright, but the movement sent another wave of heat rushing through her limbs. Her fingers trembled uncontrollably, and she gripped the sheets as if they were the only things keeping her from falling apart.

Silas bolted upright beside her. "Elara? What's wrong?"

"I don't know. Something is happening to me."

He reached for her, but the moment his fingers touched her arm, he felt the intense heat radiating from her skin. His brows drew together, and he immediately moved closer.

"You're burning. Look at me, Elara. Can you hear me?"

She tried to answer, but a sudden burst of pain tore through her head. Her eyes squeezed shut as strange images flooded her mind. She saw an enormous white wolf standing beneath a glowing moon, its eyes shining like stars. Behind it stood a magnificent palace surrounded by silver trees and towering white pillars.

Then came the voices.

Rise, little queen.

Elara's breathing became uneven. "Who said that?"

Silas glanced around the room. "Who said what?"

"Someone is calling me. I can hear them."

Another image flashed through her mind. A woman wearing a silver crown stood before a gathering of wolves, her long white hair flowing behind her. The woman looked directly at Elara, and although she had never seen that face before, an overwhelming feeling of recognition filled her chest.

Your blood remembers what your mind has forgotten.

Elara clutched her head. "Make it stop!"

Silas caught her shoulders. "Elara, stay with me. Whatever you're experiencing, don't fight it alone."

But the heat was growing stronger. Her body arched slightly as a strange energy surged beneath her skin, spreading from her chest to her arms and down her legs. She looked at her hands and gasped when faint white patterns began appearing across them.

They resembled delicate silver markings, glowing beneath her skin like ancient symbols.

"What is this?" she whispered.

Silas stared at her hands. He had seen witches use magic, witnessed powerful wolves transform, and faced creatures that could tear through an entire warrior unit. Yet nothing he had ever encountered felt like the immense pressure now filling the bedroom.

A faint glow appeared among Elara's dark hair.

At first, it was only a thin strand near her temple. Then the colour began spreading, turning one streak of her hair into a luminous silver-white shade. It shone brighter with every passing second, casting a pale light across her face.

Silas stared. "Elara..."

She lifted a trembling hand towards her hair. "What happened to me?"

Before he could answer, an ear-splitting chime exploded inside her mind.

[DING! DING! DING! EMERGENCY SYSTEM ALERT!]

[ANCIENT BLOODLINE SEAL DETECTED!]

[WARNING! MULTIPLE SEALS ARE BREAKING SIMULTANEOUSLY!]

Elara winced as the notifications continued.

[BLOODLINE IDENTIFICATION IN PROGRESS...]

[SUBJECT: ELARA MOON.]

[ANCIENT WHITE ROYAL WOLF BLOODLINE CONFIRMED!]

[ROYAL SEAL: CRITICAL DAMAGE!]

[DORMANT WOLF AWAKENING!]

Her eyes widened as she read the messages. "White Royal Wolf?"

Silas heard her whisper, but before he could ask what she meant, another wave of energy exploded from her body.

The wardrobe doors flew open with a deafening bang.

Silas immediately turned towards the sound, but the force of the blast threw several pieces of clothing across the room.

"Elara!"

Silas lunged towards her, shielding her. His arm wrapped around her shoulders while his other hand caught her wrist. The moment he touched her again, a powerful pulse of energy travelled through his body.

His wolf stirred.

For the first time in a long while, the weakened creature inside him reacted with something close to reverence. It lowered its head instinctively, responding to a presence far greater than anything it had sensed before.

Silas stiffened.

What kind of power is this?

Elara barely noticed his reaction. Her entire body was trembling, and the silver markings had spread across her arms and neck. The glow illuminated her skin, giving it an almost otherworldly appearance.

"Silas, I'm scared."

His expression softened immediately. "Look at me. You're not alone."

"It feels like something is trying to break out of me."

"Then let it come out. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."

She shook her head, tears gathering in her eyes. "What if I can't control it? What if I hurt you?"

Silas tightened his grip around her hands, ignoring the burning sensation against his palms. "You won't hurt me. And even if you lose control, I will find a way to bring you back."

Another notification flashed across Elara's vision.

[DORMANT WOLF CONSCIOUSNESS DETECTED!]

[ANCIENT WHITE ROYAL WOLF REQUESTING RELEASE!]

[WARNING! HOST BODY MAY EXPERIENCE EXTREME PRESSURE DURING AWAKENING!]

Elara's lips parted as a deep, unfamiliar growl rose from her throat.

Silas froze.

It wasn't the sound of an ordinary wolf. There was something ancient in it, something commanding that seemed to vibrate through the walls of the fortress. His own wolf pressed forward inside him, its instincts responding before his conscious mind could understand why.

"Did you hear that?" Elara whispered.

Silas nodded slowly. "Yes."

"That came from me."

He looked at her with an expression she had never seen before. Even when she had removed his mask and kissed his poisoned face, he hadn't looked quite this shaken. His eyes moved over the glowing markings, the silver-white strand of hair, and the strange light gathering around her.

"Your wolf is waking up."

Elara swallowed. "But I've never felt her before. Not once. Everyone thought I was defective."

"Everyone was wrong."

The simple answer made her eyes sting. For so long, she had believed that something was missing inside her. She had been mocked, rejected, and treated as though her lack of a wolf made her less worthy than everyone else.

Now something powerful was stirring inside her, something that had apparently been hidden from the world.

A sudden voice echoed through her mind again.

My queen.

Elara gasped. "I can hear her."

Silas leaned closer. "Your wolf?"

She nodded, tears slipping down her cheeks. "She called me her queen."

A brilliant flash of white energy erupted from her skin. Silas raised one arm to shield his eyes, but he refused to release her hands. The light filled every corner of the bedroom, turning the dark walls almost completely white.

For one breathless moment, the entire fortress seemed to fall silent then the energy slowly settled.

"Are you still in pain?" he asked.

Elara shook her head. "Not like before. I feel strange, but stronger somehow."

"Can you stand?"

She nodded, and he helped her sit more comfortably against the pillows. His hands remained around hers, as though he feared the moment he let go, the energy might return.

Elara looked down at her glowing fingers. "Does this mean I finally have a wolf?"

Silas studied her for several seconds. His wolf was still unusually quiet, but it no longer felt weak or frightened. It seemed almost humbled by the presence that had awakened beside him.

He lifted his gaze to her face. "Elara, I don't think you understand what just happened."

Her brows drew together. "Then explain it to me."

Silas glanced at the silver-white strand of hair shining against her dark locks. He had heard old stories about bloodlines that existed long before the current Alpha kingdoms. Most wolves considered those stories legends, tales about a dynasty that had vanished so completely that even its name had become forbidden.

But the power he had felt tonight was not a legend.

His fingers tightened gently around hers as realization settled over him. The woman beside him wasn't simply a wolf who had awakened late. Her blood carried something that could change the balance of every kingdom.

"By the Goddess... your wolf isn't common stock at all, Elara... you carry the blood of the forgotten White Royal dynasty."

Elara stared at him as her eyes flashed a brilliant, blinding white.

"If Kade thinks a few desperate warriors can break through our northern defenses, he's about to find out what a real Alpha does to trespassers."The war horns sounded across Obsidian Fang, breaking the silence of the freezing night. Guards rushed toward the northern walls while warriors grabbed their weapons and hurried into formation. Silas stood in the armoury, strapping his heavy iron broadsword across his chest as a messenger delivered the latest report."Alpha, Red Moon scouts have crossed the northern marker. They're moving through the trees and approaching the ravine."Silas tightened the leather strap around his sword. "How many?""At least twenty, possibly more following behind them. Their leader appears to be Alpha Kade."A dangerous expression crossed Silas's face. "So the fool has finally decided to stop sending letters and start a war."Outside, the snow-covered courtyard had become a scene of hurried activity. Warriors mounted their patrol wolves, archers took positions

"You spent years treating me like pack trash, Rowena, but the blood of a Beta King runs in these veins, and it's time you learned your place."The midday sun shone over the Obsidian Fang courtyard as warriors moved between training stations. Wooden swords clashed, instructors shouted commands, and several elite guards practised their fighting formations. Near the edge of the training ground, Milo struggled to push himself upright after stumbling backward from a heavy sparring dummy. His chest rose and fell rapidly as he rubbed his aching shoulder. He had insisted on joining the training session, determined to become strong enough to protect Elara. Unfortunately, his body was still adjusting to the awakening that had begun inside the archive."Come on, Milo. You can do better than that!" one of the younger guards called out.Milo straightened his back and tried to look confident. "I know. I just need another chance."Before he could return to the dummy, a familiar voice interrupted him

"They told you your bloodline was just common wolf stock, little Luna, but magic of this magnitude doesn't come from ordinary packs." The words echoed through the subterranean archive as Silas stood beside Elara, studying the ancient runes etched into the hidden wall panels. Their faint golden glow reflected in his grey eyes, making the markings appear almost alive. He had explored the Obsidian Fang archives countless times, but he had never seen anything like this. Elara glanced at him. "First, I discover I'm a White Royal Wolf, and now you're telling me there's something even stranger about my bloodline. How many secrets am I supposed to have?" Silas moved closer to the wall. "I wish I had an answer. These markings are older than most wolf kingdoms. Even the previous Alpha Kings were forbidden from studying certain records kept here." "Wonderful. I'm a walking mystery with a dangerous family history." A faint smile touched his lips, but his expression soon became serious. The st

"I didn't choose you because I was dying, and I didn't make you my Luna out of desperation. I did it because my soul refuses to exist without yours."Elara sat quietly in his lap, her back resting against his chest. Her fingers moved gently along the faint black veins that remained on his neck, tracing the places where her healing kiss had slowly driven the poison away. The marks were no longer as dark as before, and his skin had regained much of its healthy colour."You're staring at me again," she murmured, a small smile forming on her lips.Silas tightened his arms around her waist. "Am I not allowed to admire my own Luna?""Your Luna? I thought I was the troublesome woman who kept interfering with your peaceful life.""That woman has become my favourite problem."Elara laughed softly. She turned her head to look at him, studying the handsome face he no longer needed to hide behind his iron mask. The black veins were fading, but a few stubborn traces remained near his jaw and neck.

"Send another raven, I don't care if they shoot it down! Tell Elara I'll hand over half my territory if she just steps foot back across our border!"The heavy crystal goblet smashed against the stone wall, scattering glittering pieces across the blood-stained throne room. Alpha Kade stood beside his throne, his chest rising and falling with fury as the remaining servants hurried out of his way. Nobody dared approach him while his temper was this bad, especially not when the entire Red Moon Pack was falling apart around them.Outside the great hall, the northern fields had turned gray and lifeless. Crops that once stretched across the land had withered, leaving behind dry soil and brittle stalks. The pack's food stores were running dangerously low, and wolves who had once bowed respectfully to their Alpha now gathered in small groups to whisper about rebellion."Another shipment has failed to arrive," one of the guards reported cautiously. "The eastern merchants have cancelled their ag
