“Just eat and get ready for the class.” I mumbled while eating in a daze. Ever since Herman told me that my wolf is alive but is weak and unstable, I have felt some changes in my mental state and demeanor.

I became short-tempered and lost control over my emotions quickly. I was still trying to believe that I beat Sylvester last night.

I was never violent, at least not with Gabriel and Sylvester. So, yesterday’s incident took me off guard completely.

“Sheryl.” I looked at Morton absentmindedly when he called me in a worried tone.

“How did it feel when she rejected you, Morton?” I asked him before I could even think of that.

His expression immediately changed. The pain crossed his handsome face, but it didn’t leave immediately.

“Why are you asking?” he asked me in a low voice, pain still evident in his voice.

“Did you ever love her before you acknowledged her as your mate?” I asked him again, ignoring his question.
