I didn't know what time it was. All I knew was that I woke up to a harsh knocking sound against my bedroom door.

“Who is that?” I called out, rubbing my groggy eyes as I sat up in bed.

“It’s almost noon! Are you planning on attending your classes or what?” Damon’s loud voice echoed from the hallway, causing me to snap wide awake and bolt out of bed.

I glanced at the wall clock—it was nearly eight in the morning.

Shit!

“Wait a minute, Damon! I’m taking a quick shower!” I shouted back, hurrying straight into the bathroom. I stripped off my clothes and hopped into the shower. While lathering soap onto my skin, that familiar, prickling sensation crept up my spine again—that eerie feeling of eyes watching my every move, even though I was completely alone. I shook my head, brushing off the paranoia, and quickly finished up.

After dressing up in a simple outfit, I rushed out of my room. “You’re going to school like that?” Damon asked, eyeing my unbrushed hair.

“I’ll do my hair and makeup in your car. Did Mom and Dad leave already?” I asked, following him down the hallway toward the garage.

“Yeah, around 4:00 AM. Lion drove them to the airport,” Damon replied as we walked out to the parking area.

“Ah... so, are Mom and Dad really moving to Australia for good?” I sighed quietly.

“Yeah. They’ve been planning to settle in Australia for a long time. Now that they know Lion can handle the family corporation on his own, they’re at peace,” Damon explained as we both climbed into his car.

“So we’re free to do whatever the hell we want with our lives now. With limitations, of course,” he added, glancing at me. I nodded silently in agreement.

“Which means you’re still not allowed to get a boyfriend,” he suddenly interjected. I rolled my eyes at him, drawing a low chuckle from his lips.

“What about... Jewell? Where did she sleep last night?” The question slipped out before I could stop myself, a bitter taste lingering on my tongue.

“Obviously in Lion’s room. Besides, you should start practicing calling her Sis Jewell from now on. I’m pretty sure Lion intends to marry her. Out of all his past girlfriends, she’s the only one he actually introduced to Mom and Dad.”

My nails dug sharply into the palms of my clenched fists. He was right. His ex-girlfriends in the past were only brought home in secret, snuck in and out through the side doors away from Mom and Dad’s eyes. Whenever our parents went out of town, he would bring those women home, letting them stay in his room for as long as Mom and Dad were gone.

Back then, as a naive kid who viewed Lion strictly as a brother, I didn't care about his lifestyle. But now? It felt like a blade slowly twisting in my chest.

“You’re awfully quiet,” Damon remarked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I merely offered him a faint smile and turned my gaze toward the passing view outside the window. When we finally pulled up in front of the school gates, I reached for the door handle to get out, but Damon’s firm grip caught my wrist.

“Where’s my kiss?” he murmured, leaning his cheek closer to me with a playful smirk.

“Ugh! Stop acting stupid!” I snapped in annoyance, which only made him laugh harder.

“You’re really not my sweet little baby girl anymore, huh?” he chuckled, reaching over to mess up my hair.

“Whatever. Just text me later so I can pick you up,” he instructed. I nodded briefly before stepping out of the car.

Right on cue, Jobel was already waiting by the gates. Ever since Damon started driving me to school, she had made a habit of waiting here—mostly because she harbored a massive crush on him.

“Was that Damon who dropped you off?” she asked eagerly as soon as I reached her. I gave her a simple nod.

Damon honked his horn, leaning out of the driver's window to give us a brief wave before speeding off, sending Jobel into a quiet fit of squealing.

“God, he is so freaking hot! Would you mind if I became your sister-in-law, Frenny?” she asked out of nowhere, making me cringe.

“The real question is, would Damon ever agree to make you his wife?” I retorted with a chuckle.

“Ouch! That hurts!” she gasped dramatically, rolling her eyes as we walked into the campus.

When we entered the art studio, the familiar scent of oil paint and varnish immediately enveloped us. This was my world—the only place where I could actually breathe.

“Bes, seriously, your Damon is such a eye candy. Do you think his type is petite girls?” Jobel rambled while pulling out her charcoal pencils.

“I don't know, Jobel. He’s way too busy running his businesses to think about romance right now,” I answered, setting up my blank canvas on the wooden easel.

Is he really going to marry Jewell?

The thought consumed me. I picked up my brush, mixing paints onto my palette. Instead of working on the landscape or abstract piece assigned by our professor, my hands moved entirely on muscle memory. I started sketching a face.

Lion.

The sharp, commanding cut of his jaw, his intense, brooding glare, and the coldness that always haunted his dark eyes. “Wow, frenny. The details are crazy,” Jobel commented, passing behind my easel. “Who’s that? Your new muse?”

I instinctively stepped in front of the canvas to block her view. “N-nothing... just practicing for another subject.”

She shot me a skeptical look but refrained from pressing further. Deep down, a suffocating weight rested heavy on my chest. Art school was supposed to be a place for self-expression, but what if my art was made of dirty secrets? What if every stroke of color I laid on this canvas screamed the name of the one man I was never supposed to love?

Dellion "Lion" MadrigalThe silence inside the grand estate was no longer quiet. It was deafening. It was suffocating. It was driving me into a state of violent, unhinged madness. I stood in the center of Snow’s empty bedroom, my jaw set in an icy, painful clench. The room smelled faintly of her vanilla perfume, but the bed was neatly made, untouched, cold, and hollow.I checked my watch for the hundredth time. 3:45 AM. They had been gone for two full days. Two days of complete, radio-silent absence. When the head housekeeper informed me yesterday morning that Snow had left for an out-of-town landscape photography thesis with Damon as her escort, I had calmly nodded, brushed it off, and stepped into my office. But the moment the door locked behind me, I tore through every tracking system, every security camera log, and every phone record under the Madrigal network.Nothing.Damon had scrubbed their trail with precise, infuriating expertise. He knew every single backdoor in my private

The morning mist stretched lazily across the glass walls of the villa, wrapping the Tagaytay hills in a blanket of cool, crisp air.I woke up wrapped in Damon’s thick wool sweater, the sleeves hanging past my fingertips. Walking barefoot onto the polished wooden floor of the open-concept kitchen, the chilly breeze made me shiver pleasantly, though the warmth lingering deep inside my body kept the cold at bay. Damon was already standing by the marble kitchen island. He wore only a pair of dark gray sweatpants, his broad back bare, muscles rippling effortlessly as he worked the waffle iron. The rich, mouthwatering scent of toasted batter and fresh coffee filled the sunlit room. I walked up behind him, sliding my arms around his waist, pressing my cheek against his warm, bare spine.Damon stilled, a low, contented chuckle vibrating through his back. He turned around in my arms, holding a plate of freshly made golden waffles, his pitch-black eyes softening into an intoxicating, warm gaze

The sweetness of his confession lingered in the air, melting away every fear and hesitation I had ever held. When Damon pulled back just an inch, his dark eyes were burning—not with the wild, chaotic fury he usually carried, but with a deep, reverent hunger that made my core pulse with a heavy, aching warmth. The golden light of the crackling fireplace danced across his sharp jawline, casting long shadows over his broad shoulders."Snow..." he rasped softly, his voice thick and rough. "If I touch you tonight... I'm never letting you go. You know that, don't you?"A breathless, bold smile curved my lips. "I don't want you to let me go."That was all it took for Damon's last shred of restraint to shatter. He let out a low, guttural growl against my lips, leaning down to capture my mouth in a kiss so deep, so thorough, that it stole every drop of oxygen from my lungs. His tongue slid past my lips, tasting of dark wine and hot, addictive desire. His large, calloused hands slid up from my

Five days until November 15. The countdown to Damon’s twenty-ninth birthday was ticking away, and the atmosphere inside the mansion was getting heavier by the day. Lion had thrown himself entirely into his corporate empire, barely coming home before midnight, leaving the house cold, hollow, and peaceful in his absence.Taking advantage of the rare quiet, Damon pulled off a seamless lie. He managed to convince our house staff that I needed to travel out of town for an urgent three-day landscape photography project required for my senior art thesis. Since Lion was stuck in back-to-back board meetings in Makati, Damon executed the escape without a single hitch.By three in the afternoon, his sleek black SUV was tearing down the winding highways toward Tagaytay, leaving the congested noise of the city far behind. "Where are we actually going, Damon?" I asked, looking over at him with a soft smile. I was wearing a simple floral sundress, the cool afternoon breeze whipping my hair through t

The confrontation in the living room left a bitter, lingering frost in the morning air. Lion didn't bother joining us at the dining table. Without uttering another word, he buttoned his dark suit jacket, grabbed his briefcase, and walked straight out of the mansion. The sound of his sports car tearing down the driveway signaled his abrupt exit, leaving the grand dining hall utterly silent.Damon and I ate our breakfast in quiet comfort. With Lion gone, the suffocating pressure lifted, replaced by a warm, easy rhythm between us. When it was time for school, we stepped out into the driveway, and I climbed into the passenger seat of Damon's black SUV. As he pulled into the morning traffic toward St. Jude University, I unbuckled my seatbelt slightly, leaning over the center console to rest my head softly against his broad shoulder.Damon’s lips curved into a gentle, genuine smile. He kept one hand firmly on the steering wheel while his other reached over, wrapping his thick fingers gently

Snowlit MadrigalThe soft morning sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, casting long, pale rays across the bedroom. I stirred lazily, shifting against the sheets, expecting to feel the solid warmth and heavy arm of Damon wrapped around my waist. Instead, the space beside me was empty. The mattress was cold. I sat up, pushing my tangled hair out of my face. The events of last night rushed back into my head—the hidden camera, the quiet confrontation, Damon kneeling before me, and the comforting, secure hold he offered all through the night. A subtle, quiet warmth settled in my chest. After changing into a simple lounge set, I opened my bedroom door and stepped out into the hallway. The mansion was usually quiet at this hour, but as I reached the top of the grand staircase, sharp, volatile voices echoed from the main living area downstairs."I don't give a damn if she called you crying, Damon! It's none of your fucking business!""She was hysterical on the phone, Lion! You just d
